Anyone have any thoughts on the Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag?
I've owned 3. One old style with 24"or26"(can't remember
which)non ported barrel. One 24"or 26" ported barrel. One with
the 20"or 21"(can't remember which). Stay with the longer barrel
version. They are turkey killing machines and will shoot circles
around the shorter version. Less recoil too. I put a .685 Kicks
"Gobblin Thunder"choke tube in the end of it and have taken
turkeys out to 65 yards with it. They love the Winchester 3 1/2"
black mules in 2oz. 6 shot.
I have short arms so the pumps were a stretch for me and I
sometimes "short shucked"them. I changed to the 935 Mossberg
semi auto(same choke tubes) and I really love it. They ruined a
lot of nosey coyotes' days. For the money you will not find a
better all around gun. jmho.
P.S. The option of shooting 2 3/4"/ 3"/ and 3 1/2" shells makes
them a very versatile guns.[/quote]

I've always been an 870 WingMaster kind of guy and that being
said I also wouldn't be afraid of adding a 835 Ultimag to my
collection. Mosburg has been around for many years by building
really good guns and they stand behind their products.

The "Wingmaster" is the smoothest pump ever built. Packed one
for years in the dove fields. In the 70's everybody had one.
