| Front Loaders | |

| I bought my first muzzle loader in 1974, after being Honorably | |
| Discharged from the Navy. I came home with a bundle in my wallet | |
| and a mission on my mind. I headed to a gunshop called Ft | |
| Tuscarawa with my youngest Brother in tow. They specialized in | |
| Black powder guns and I wasn't going home empty handed. When I | |
| left the gunshop the owner had a big smile on his face and a wad | |
| of money in his hand. Since it was just a few days past my Bro's | |
| birthday I let him choose a gun, he chose a .58 cal Zouave and | |
| he was smiling too. For myself I bought a TC Hawken in .45 cal, | |
| a TC Seneca in .45 and a TC Patriot .50 cal pistol and yes, I | |
| was smiling as well ;D. We loaded up the car with bullets, | |
| powder, caps and cleaning supplies and headed home. I spent the | |
| rest of that summer getting to know my new guns. Luckily my | |
| Father was well versed in Black powder and under his watchful | |
| eyes I learned the ins and outs of Muzzleloading. Over the years | |
| I've enjoyed black powder hunting for deer, chucks, Ducks and | |
| tree rats. Alot of my friends won't try black powder because of | |
| only having one shot but when you really know your gun ya only | |
| need one. Any of you guys feel the same about front loaders? | |

| My first and only was a TC Hawken rifle in .50 cal. I really | |
| wanted to stay traditional with my muzzleloader and liked the | |
| look of the wood and brass. I guess I liked the movie Jeremiah | |
| Johnson too much! I still shoot round ball and patch out of it. | |
| Very accurate and very nostalgic. I'm not into inline or break | |
| action muzzleloaders. i figure if everyoe has just one shot | |
| during our week long season, then why not go traditional. | |

| I hunted with the Hawken and Seneca for many years and was | |
| completely satisfied with their performance. Both of these guns | |
| shot roundball very well, I took many deer with them from point | |
| blank out to 180 paces and never had to shoot one twice. When | |
| the inlines and break action guns came out I was happy with my | |
| Traditional guns and stuck with them. About 10 years ago my | |
| younger Bro returned the favor and gave me a .45 cal TC Encore | |
| for Christmas. I spent long hours at the range with it learning | |
| just what that gun wanted to shoot, burned up a full pound of | |
| powder in one afternoon trying different loads. When I left the | |
| range that day the Encore was holding groups just over 1 inch at | |
| 100 yds. I still hunt with my Hawken from time to time but my | |
| eyes aren't as young these days and its much easier to use a | |
| scope than shoot open sights. | |
| When the inlines and break actions came out they brought about | |
| a renewed interest in Muzzleloading. The numbers of frontloader | |
| users have really increased, they are much easier to scope mount | |
| and I think that was the key issue. | |

| I love the TC Encore Pro Hunter. Just wish I had the $ to fund | |
| the thing. A few buddies have them and drive tacks with them. | |
| They are more confident with them than with a shotgun slug. | |
| They even take them when we yote hunt! | |

| I have shot guns and hunted all my life and have never owned a | |
| black powder rifle.....and for the life of me I don't know why. | |
| They seem like a fun gun to shoot, and give you some extra days | |
| in the field in deer season. That's always a plus. | |

| They have their own calling, Yote59. It is really cool when | |
| everyone in the woods has just one shot to make it count. It | |
| always made me wonder when I would hear a shot in the distance | |
| and wonder if the guy hit it or missed! Best part was when it | |
| would rain and you would hear the cap "POP", but the powder got | |
| wet and the charge never went off. ;D | |

| I don't know what I would do if that happened while scoping a | |
| big buck. May be very creative with a few choice words. | |

| Hunting in the rain can be a real pain. The new breakopen | |
| inlines like the TC Encore helps alot. Just add a piece of black | |
| electric tape over the muzzle and your good to go. | |

| I've recently thought about purchasing a front loader. Any | |
| suggestions on what to buy? | |

| I've been shooting Thompson Center guns for many years and would | |
| not hesitate to highly recommend them to anyone. The TC Encore | |
| Pro Hunter is an excellent choice. One of the best things about | |
| the Encore is the ability to buy different caliber barrels | |
| making it possible to change over to a modern cartridge gun at | |
| will. Barrels are availible in almost any caliber you want for | |
| less than $300 a barrel. | |
