Tactical Rifles
By: MasterBlaster Date: December 14, 2012, 1:56 pm

I am looking to add a flat top .223 tactical rifle to my
collection. I really like the look of the DPMS Panther Oracle
and Sportical. Just looking for opinions on here from any of you
who have ever tried one. The 16" and 18" barreled versions will
probably be my choice but longer models are available in 20"and
24".
Just curious what you guys like. This purchase is more for home
defense but it will have a Brunton 3.5X10X50 scope on it just in
case I need to reach out and touch a varmint. I work nights and
may be a while replying to your messages, but rest assured I
appreciate all you guys input. Thanks.

Sportical would be the ticket with the 16". Put a nice set of
eyes on it and your good to go. if you have the extra $$$, the
recon is a pretty good rifle also. I was looking at this rifle a
while back, but with my current lay-off, it de-railed that
project.

Thanks, I checked out the recon also(nice). For the money, the
Sportical/Oracle has caught my eye. Thanks for the input.

That might be too late. I heard as early as next month for the
ban.
I like AR's but i can't hunt with one and not much into
shooting a ton of ammo at pop bottles and pizza boxes. So can't
decide whether to buy one just to have it or not.

I have owned several AR's in my day. Use to rabbit hunt with an
old .22 AR. You can sling some lead no doubt. As far as the
new AR's...I think the design and appearance of these new
tactical AR's is what the problem is today.

Looks like you better hurry if your going to get one after the
last shooting you watch there going to put the screws on them.
If I ever had one it would be in 458...

The biggest problem is the media and anti-gun folks confusing a
full auto military Assault Rifle with the semi auto Tactical
Rifles being sold in the states. Big difference. We can't go out
and buy a full auto weapon without a special permit that takes
many years to get. It's funny a person with a criminal record
can't legally purchase a weapon after a background check. But if
you're certifiably insane(mental disorders) it's no problem
because that information can never be released as public record.
In my opinion often their actions suggest they are one and the
same. JMHO.
