Commanded by the pragmatic Isabelline Snow, the Order of the
Silver Crescent (OSC) is not officially listed within the ranks
or records of the Lunar Guard. Operating as a independent
surgical strike team, the OSC handles their work through filed
contracts instead of official, state orders from the Lunar
Guard. Interestingly enough, most of their contracts are written
and approved by the Lunar Guard itself, allowing the OSC to
operate freely without being weighed down by the rules and
regulations of the Guard. As a result, however, the Lunar Guard
can not be held liable for damages or anything else that might
go wrong during an operation.
The system was devised by Isabelline as a clever way to escape
the militaristic and political dogma within the higher ranking
individuals such as herself, and despite the doomsayers who's
minds still echoed the past, the OSC has thrived. Unfortunately,
the system was not perfect. Isabelline herself, for example,
plays both sides of the court as she balances her duty to the
Lunar Guard and her leadership to the OSC, causing tension
between some of her superiors as she tends to play by her own
rules. However, her leadership and skills were irrefutable as
the OSC's wildly successful campaigns piled up, earning them a
sort of celebrity status and reputation inside the Lunar Guard.
The OSC comprises of merely six members- small enough to go
unnoticed, but large enough to get the job done. Depending on
the nature of the contract, the OSC generally swoop in and
complete mission objectives in record time with minimal losses,
focusing first and foremost on the protection of its own members
and anypony else unfortunate enough to get caught in the
crossfire. Get in, flip tables, bust some heads, and get out.
Contracts fall into one of five classes, each carefully reviewed
by Isabelline before posting to her group.
Class A- Lunar Guard contracts. The most common. Generally
written as a call for support to the main force or a clutch
operation that requires speed, stealth, and accuracy.
Class B- Other military contracts, mostly from the Royal Guard
or in rare instances, the Crystal Empire. The second most common
contract after word of their successful operations got around.
These generally don't differ too much from the Class A
contracts, although greater care and more intelligence might be
needed to avoid mishaps.
Class C- Business contracts. Not limited to just wartime
efforts, the OSC are also capable of leading strikes against
those that cause trouble. Bandits, criminals, violent usurpers
and the like. Pre-op investigations are needed here to avoid
unnecessary conflict, or worse, attacking an undercover group.
Class D- Contracts from unregistered sources, mostly from
specialized groups that wish to remain anonymous. The rarest
contracts of them all. Isabelline personally investigates these
claims for authentication, gaining allies in many places as a
result.
Class S- Urgent. Any of the above classes could fit into this
category. Although rare, the entire group must be ready at the
drop of a hat in case these ever pop through.
WIP- More about weapons and members later. If your character
would like to join for whatever reason, I can easily swap them
out with one of the default members.
