Site Sections

Unknown Frontier has changed its layout to allow for ease of
access for the user. It is compiled of three main sections: HUB,
Equestria, and Universal. Below are an explanation of each, as
well as information on the forum�s timeline, technology, etc in
regards to MLP RP.
HUB: This is where all of the site�s main information is found.
Rules, Site Sections (this), Extras, and Character Books all
reside here. Rules are� the rules. Site Section breaks down what
each part of this site is used for. Extras consist of threads
that are not RP associated, but still can reflect on the
community, these can be ideas, out of character topics, etc.
Character Books are where OC character sheets are stored. There
are two Character Books; one is for MLP RP, the other is for
Universal RP. Guidelines for OC creation will be found in each
Character Book.
Equestria: Here is where you will roleplay according to the My
Little Pony setting. This board is broken down by locations
(Canterlot, Ponyville, etc), but also has sections for major
story arcs and special events. There is also a �Community�
section; an archive of stories and tales that may not have been
completed or doesn�t fit with any other previously mentioned
category. The timeline and settings of the forum (in terms of
our MLP section) is based on the show but not strictly tied to
it. Due to new seasons and episodes coming out, we can�t predict
what may be or may not be canon, so no alterations of past
stories are needed.
In terms of show canon, the forum takes place after Season 7.
What kind of technology is in use for this section of the forum?
In terms of military technology, there are tanks, planes,
battleships, and firearms. However, these are scarce and by
today�s standards are hardware you would see between the 1940s -
1960s (you can use tech that�s older like biplanes and such).
This is to prevent military technology (and militant forces in
general) from being the dominant factor in Equestria, but also
allows such technology to exist with some use. Everyday,
civilian technology generally follows the same rule and time
period. There are still phones, TVs, medical equipment, etc, but
no flat screens, high speed internet, etc. For anything
specific, please ask an Administrator.
For those looking for a traditional experience in their story's
settings, they may tag their thread as S.C.O. (Show Canon Only).
This means no helicopters, machine guns, etc., just magic,
swords, and the like that you would expect in the MLP universe.
Any OCs joining the thread must adhere to this rule until the
thread is over or until they leave. Any new threads relating to
the first that are following the same setting must still be
tagged to prevent confusion.
Universal: All other non-MLP roleplay will be held here. There
will be a subsection for main story arcs. As time progresses,
further changes to the section may apply.
In regards to creating a new RP in Universal, you must first
create a thread in the Character book explaining the setting
which it will take place. No matter how popular the setting may
be (Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc), always assume there will be
someone who isn't as familiar with it than most. You can be as
detailed as you want as long as the basics of that universe are
covered. Videos, Wikis, and other reference material are
allowed, encouraged even, to help newcomers become familiar with
the theme. When creating organizations, characters, and threads
that will in be that setting, always include that setting in the
title. For example:

�OC Dude (Harry Potter)� [Original Character]
�A Trip to the Store (Fallout)� [Story Thread]
