The 26

The 26 is an internationally known freelance organization that
delves with security and risk management, as well as
intelligence gathering services. The 26 has a worldwide
client-base including governments, international agencies and
the international corporate sector. The 26 consists of a diverse
range of personnel, including ponies, griffins, and even diamond
dogs (though this is rare) As the name suggests, The 26 is a
small group of twenty six operatives all ranked as follows:
Field Agent (14 Operatives)- Frontline operatives that execute
the contracted work. This can range from body guarding, search
and rescue, intelligence gathering, covert military action,
espionage, frontline combat, counter-terrorism, and
hostage/kidnap situations. The life expectancy of these field
agents is rumored to be around 3 years due to the high danger
assignments and bounties set on these agents by hostile
organizations.
Handler (7 Operatives) - The Handler is responsible for the
physical and emotional welfare of the Field Agents under their
command; at times they will accompany their operatives if the
situation calls for it. A Handler is usually responsible for two
agents, although some have managed one or three. Relaying
contracts and orders from a Director to the Field Agent,
Handlers ensure their operatives are well equipped and up to
date on their training.
Director (5 Operatives) - Working the more white collar and
logistic work of the organization, Directors set the contracts
and establish connections with governments, businesses, and
third party groups. Despite their rank, Directors are still
agents and are still capable of performing field work if need
be. Directors evaluate contracts to make sure no illegal
activity will be committed by their agents; they also manage
overall resources and handle bounties on any agents in the
field, at times paying them off overall to keep their operatives
alive in a hostile country.
It has been recently discovered that The 26 has been the cause
of a proxy civil war in Saddle Arabia. Under the guise of The
Hidden Daggers, they instigated the conflict not only to
financially gain from it, but to test out their research.
Implementing a program titled "The Phantom Initiative." The
Directors chose key operatives within their ranks (as well as
possible outside sources) to serve as sleeper agents. When
activated by certain triggers, the operatives would perform
certain tasks that are subliminally assigned to them. Once
complete, the individual loses all memory of recent events. The
direct goal of The Phantom Initiative was at first believed to
be a tool to sway international power, but the lack of evidence
confirms this theory.
Recently one of their prospective agents in the program
uncovered the organization's involvement in the civil conflict
as well as The Phantom Initiative itself. Using the evidence,
they assembled a team and confronted the Directors in the city
of Manehattan. After a brutal and costly confrontation, the
Directors were apprehended and sent to Saddle Arabia to face
trial.
With no formal leadership at this point, The 26 has enacted the
"Cole Protocol"; all remaining agents complete whatever current
mission /contract they're assigned to. Afterwards, they destroy
all information in regards to the organization and disperse with
any and all resources currently with them. With these agents now
scattered throughout the world, only time will tell what they
may do next.
