Stroll Under Stars (Avery/Ebony Only) |

The ceremony was a success, the stand up survived, and now he's |
|
here. In an undisclosed hallway completely empty. Well, besides |
|
his lovely companion, Avery. The other side of the castle was |
|
quiet; the only ones around are the guards on their patrols. |
|
With each one they pass, the new Colonel is saluted. It's not |
|
any different from before; a salute is a salute. Still, the |
|
concept of his new rank was sinking in. Avery would certainly |
|
note his occasional off glance or distant gaze. But with each |
|
return to the real world, the noctral squeezes her closer with |
|
his wing. With her... everything's... simpler. Problems seem to |
|
shrink, and opportunities grow. |

It was finally nice to get away from all the noise, it was just |
|
her and Ebony now. He was quiet though, she'd noticed his lack |
|
of words and thoughtful behavior quite easily. "Ebby..." Avery |
|
soothed him a bit with a slight brush of her wing against his, |
|
"You'll do great." It was a big step for him, even if he was |
|
ready for it. Though she knew that he had a lot of work ahead of |
|
him, but she'd be by his side the entire way. |

When Avery talks to him, Ebony completely stops. Her words, few |
|
in number, certainly make him at ease. He simply pulls her into |
|
a close hug and nuzzles her ear. "Thanks. I know it'll be a |
|
hassle, but it's manageable. With you by my side, anything's |
|
possible." Letting go, he continues trotting. "I don't want to |
|
get your hopes up tonight. I don't have a secret place to take |
|
us. Or last prying was the best one I got. So it may just be |
|
wandering into empty rooms and hallways." |

"Oh Ebony." She giggles as they pass through the hallway, not |
|
even concerned about where they were headed. "It doesn't matter |
|
where we go, I'm with you and that's all that matters right now. |
|
Plus, I've wanted some alone time ever since this started." |
|
Avery nuzzles closer to him afterwards, her heart already |
|
filling with glee. |
