| Chief Commander: Commander Broadshield | |
| Equestrian Regional Commander: "Szar" | |
| Saddle Arabian Operational Commander: Captain Desert Storm | |
| Motto: Tueri Patriam, et Populum Nostrum (Protect our country | |
| and our people) OR Servire, Tueri, et Pugnare (Serve, protect, | |
| and fight) | |
| What is 'Equinox'?: Directive 82, also known as Special Forces | |
| Group 'Equinox' is a special forces group founded by high | |
| ranking officers in the military, members of parliament and | |
| royalty. The group was formed sometime after the Changeling | |
| Invasion, but were not deployed until Tirek's attack on | |
| Equestria, where high ranking officers in the military, members | |
| of parliament and royalty agreed to activate Directive 82, and | |
| form Equinox with the intention of safeguarding Equestria from | |
| those who wished to do it, and its citizens harm. They also | |
| provide the full range of military services, including combat, | |
| logistics, training, outfitting, armaments, R&D and procurement, | |
| along with more secret intelligence services, from including | |
| Intel, spying, and assassination. Since Equinoxs activation, | |
| they have played a crucial role in anti-terrorism operations in | |
| Equestria, as well as first responders to wars and conflicts. | |
| Lately, they have also shut down numerous smuggling rings across | |
| Equestria. | |
| What does Equinox consist of?: Equinox recruit anypony, | |
| indiscriminant of age, gender, appearance, race, birthplace or | |
| ideology. They recruit soldiers either through volunteers, or | |
| through taking enemy combatants, although this method of | |
| recruitment has not been confirmed in official 'Equestrian' | |
| reports and is widely considered to be some crackpot theory. It | |
| is uncommon, but Equinox also involve common ponies in their | |
| missions, if they are willing to assist them. | |
| Equinox Command Structure: Equinox is a Special Forces Group | |
| with influence in all major cities in Equestria, from Los | |
| Pegasus to Manehatten, and some minor cities, such as Ponyville. | |
| Because of this, Equinox has set up several Forward Operating | |
| Bases in major cities, with Equinoxs Main Operating Base | |
| located in the mountain in Canterlot, where they started. They | |
| also have Forward Operating Bases on Equestrian boarder as well | |
| as in conflict areas such as Saddle Arabia. | |
| Equinox numbers well over 100,000 active soldiers across | |
| Equestria, and in other countries. Some say that there are as | |
| many as 1,000,000 active soldiers, but there have been no | |
| confirmed numbers as of yet. In each of the Forward Operating | |
| Bases in the major cities across Equestria, there are usually | |
| anywhere between 1,000 and 10,000 soldiers stationed in each | |
| major city, all of which is dependent on the size of the city. | |
| Cities like Manehatten, Fillydelphia, and Cloudsdale can have | |
| roughly 10,000 soldiers, while cities like Vanhoover and | |
| Baltimare have around 1,000 soldiers. Smaller cities only have | |
| around 100 200 soldiers. Examples are Trottingham and | |
| Ponyville. Canterlot, Equinoxs Main Operating Base has well | |
| over 50,000 soldiers in the base, in Canterlot, and around the | |
| perimeter. | |
| When soldiers are sent out on missions to foreign countries, | |
| Equinox forms a Combat Strike Force (CSF) A single CSF could | |
| have anywhere between 1,000 10,000 soldiers. The most notable | |
| CSF to date is CSF 'Anaconda', the CSF operating in Saddle | |
| Arabia and surrounding desert countries. Other CSFs include CSF | |
| 'Erradicate', a CSF formed to deal with any Changeling Hives, as | |
| well as CSF 'Jager', a much smaller CSF tasked with eliminating | |
| groups of individuals that pose a threat to Equestria. | |
| Within each base, the soldiers stationed there are broken up | |
| into various units, each soldier being placed into a certain | |
| unit based on their evaluated strengths, weaknesses, skills and | |
| expertise. These units are: | |
| | |
| Base. Soldiers placed here multi-task and assign orders to other | |
| units, as well as oversee all operations that occur. | |
| | |
| placed here are sent on combat missions, whether it be | |
| hit-and-run, VIP Retrieval, Assassinations, Guarding an area, | |
| and such. | |
| | |
| research and development of all gear and weapons distributed to | |
| Equinox soldiers. Mainly researchers, scientists and developers | |
| are stationed here. Recently, R&D Unit in Canterlot has made | |
| breakthroughs in development, creating modern firearms and | |
| vehicles, all of which will be crucial in their fights. | |
| | |
| placed here are tasked with gathering Intel for Equinox | |
| soldiers. Sometimes, soldiers here will be sent on Intel | |
| missions, from reconnaissance, to stealing intelligence from the | |
| enemy. | |
| | |
| most recovering soldiers, injured in the line of duty. Doctors | |
| and researchers stationed here are also responsible for | |
| developing medical gear for Equinox soldiers on duty. | |
| | |
| weapons, gear, items, and vehicles to soldiers on the front | |
| lines. Occasionally, they are also on combat missions with | |
| soldiers in the Combat Unit, providing additional manpower. | |
| Equinox Military Strength: With the dawn of revolutionary modern | |
| warfare, Equinox has developed multiple combat vehicles. They | |
| are classified as land, sea, and air vehicles. | |

| With vehicles and weapons listed above only recent, Equinox only | |
| has so many of them that they have available, and that they use | |
| on missions. Obviously it takes a lot of money and resources to | |
| amass this military strength. As such, they are used sparingly | |
| until it comes a time where they do not need to use the | |
| sparingly, rather, as much as needed, which could take a long, | |
| long time. Equinox was mainly funded by the government, but | |
| eventually they began accepting contracted missions for | |
| resources and money, relying less on the government, and | |
| becoming more self-sufficient, but there are times where Equinox | |
| does rely on the government for resources and funding. | |
| Equinox Soldier Loadouts: These are the loadouts for various | |
| soldier ranks on missions within Equinox. With the dawn of | |
| revolutionary modern warfare, Equinox has developed firearms | |

| Well, I've done it. 3 months of shower thoughts and other | |
| thoughts compiled into one long post. So here it is, everything | |
| all of you guys want and need to know about Equinox. Obviously | |
| your OC's won't know this information unless they were part of | |
| Equinox. If you wish to have your OC join Equinox, contact | |
| myself, Broadshield, and I will work something out. This is a | |
| closed group. Please do not add yourself to this group unless | |
| you have contacted myself. | |
| There will be more things I need to add as time goes on, so this | |
| will be open to change. | |
| Thanks, Equinox (Broadshield) | |

| Equinox FOB's and MOB: All around Equestria, Equinox set up | |
| several FOB's, or Forward Operating Bases in major cities, with | |
| Equinoxs MOB, or Main Operating Base located in the mountain in | |
| Canterlot, where they started. They also have FOB's on the | |
| Equestrian boarder as well as in conflict areas such as Saddle | |
| Arabia. | |
| Each FOB and MOB varies in size and capacity, with various | |
| factors being, the number of soldiers stationed, number of | |
| vehicles stationed, facilities that are available for soldiers | |
| to use, as well as location and its use in the creation of an | |
| FOB or MOB. For example, the FOB located in Manehatten would be | |
| vastly different in size and shape compared to the FOB located | |
| elsewhere, for example Trottingham. This is because, for these | |
| two examples, both have different area size and shape, | |
| population numbers and available space. Below is a list and | |
| description of several FOB's and the MOB. | |

| This is what most ponies in Equestria think of when they think | |
| of Canterlot. The true heart of Equestria, one of the largest | |
| cities and the capital of the nation, large extravagant marble | |
| buildings built into the side of the mountain, spiraling up | |
| towards the peak of the mountain into the sky, offering its | |
| dozens of sights and services to locals and tourists, coming by | |
| chariot, airship, or train. Canterlot is considered by many to | |
| be the epicenter of fashion and high class, and they would be | |
| right. But Equinox is does not view Canterlot like the populace | |
| does. To them, Canterlot, or rather, the mountain is Equinox's | |
| origin, main base, and home. | |
| | |

| Hidden in the shadow of the mountain, the constant rolling | |
| clouds on the summit, and in the mountain itself, lies the | |
| Canterlot Main Base of Operations, 'Montanha Citadel' (Mountain | |
| Citadel). The base honeycombs and weaves its way throughout the | |
| center of the mountain, with almost all space being used for | |
| barracks, vehicle hangers, command rooms, armories, mess halls, | |
| laboratories, training rooms, defense systems and other various | |
| facilities. Roughly half of Equinox's total numbers are | |
| stationed in Canterlot, along with a significant number of their | |
| armaments and vehicles being stored here, purely because this | |
| base has the capacity to fit all of this in and much more. | |

| Manehatten Island FOB - "Riverside Storage" | |
| | |
| http://cdn.idigitaltimes.com/sites/idigitaltimes.com/files/styles/large/public/… | |
| Area-wise, Riverside is one of Equinox's largest FOB's in | |
| Equestria. The entire FOB is located directly underneath the | |
| Manehatten Island, using the old subway and sewerage system to | |
| connect various parts of the FOB as well as the various | |
| entrances/exits. Before the rise of newer technology, Manehatten | |
| ran on an old underground railway and sewerage system, but after | |
| new technology was developed, the old systems were abandoned and | |
| slowly degraded, until Equinox began to use them for the FOB. | |
| The main part of the FOB is an old riverside, semi-underground | |
| ship-building and storage facility on the east side of the | |
| island. From there, various old subway and sewerage systems are | |
| used to travel to and connect various parts of the FOB, which is | |
| spread out all over the island. The tunnels are just big enough | |
| so that jeeps are able to drive through, allowing for faster | |
| transportation between different parts. The FOB also uses the | |
| dock next to the old storage facility to make repairs for | |
| helicopters, jeeps and boats owned by Equinox/Equestria. | |
| Despite the size of the base in comparison to other bases, it | |
| features very little defenses to guard the base. This is mainly | |
| because having any sort of defense would attract too much | |
| attention to a hidden military organisation such as Equinox. | |

| Missions, Operations, Contracts: With a military organisation as | |
| large as Equinox, their influence in the military and the | |
| Equestrian underworld has spread like wildfire. Although | |
| Equinox's existence isn't common knowledge, by no means is it a | |
| ghost story, told by crackpot conspiracy theorists. If you ever | |
| want to learn more about them, or get into contact with them, | |
| one would either need to have connections to the military, do a | |
| lot of illegal digging to get the information, or if you're | |
| lucky, run into them on one of their missions, whether it is | |
| accidental, or intentional. | |
| To those who know about Equinox, they would know that they have | |
| undertaken hundreds of missions, operations, and contracts from | |
| all over Equestria, whether it be to grow their influence, their | |
| military strength, or to serve Equestria and its citizens. The | |
| nature of these missions, operations, and contracts could be of | |
| any nature, from anyone, anywhere, at anytime, and Equinox | |
| prides itself on being ready for any mission at the drop of a | |
| hat. There is obviously a difference between missions, | |
| operations, and contracts, in how they are dealt with, and how | |
| they are acquired, all of which are read through, sorted, and | |
| posted by 'Szar'. | |
|
| |
| Missions and Contracts: Missions are the main kind of work | |
| Equinox does. Missions usually come from official sources such | |
| as government or military sources. These missions usually come | |
| at no real reward and are done mainly to help safeguard | |
| Equestria and its citizens. Contracts are less common work that | |
| Equinox takes part in. Unlike missions, contracts often come | |
| with some form of reward or compensation after a successful | |
| mission. Some 'rewards' may include monetary funds, new | |
| recruits, weapons or other armaments, and more. Missions and | |
| Contracts are sorted mainly by origin, nature of mission, level | |
| of potential difficulty, and unit. | |
| Origin: Missions all have some kind of origin, information on | |
| who requested the mission, where it originally came from etc. | |
| 'Szar' carefully reviews each mission request and its | |
| authenticity of the source before it begins its sorting. | |
|
| |
| [li]Government Source: These are missions requested by the | |
| Equestrian Government. These missions are often requested | |
| whenever a situation threatening Equestria is present.[/li] | |
| [li]Military Source: These are missions requested by the other | |
| military organizations allied with Equestria. hese missions are | |
| often requested whenever a particular military organization | |
| requires some level of assistance on an operation or | |
| mission.[/li] | |
| [li]Anonymous/Unknown Source: These are mission requested by | |
| parties that wish to keep their identity a secret. Often much | |
| more research is needed to see if the mission is authentic, | |
| which is often done by Broadshield and Szar by themselves.[/li] | |
|
| |
| Nature of Mission: There could be various types of missions that | |
| are presented to Equinox soldiers, which is why knowing what | |
| kind of missions soldiers are going into is important so they | |
| are able to prepare properly. | |
|
| |
| [li]Assault: These are missions where soldiers are required to | |
| mount a small-scale particular area or facility, or a particular | |
| group of hostiles that could pose a threat.[/li] | |
| [li]Defense: These are missions where soldiers are required to | |
| defend a facility or a VIP in case of an imminent attack.[/li] | |
| [li]Infiltration: These are missions where soldiers are required | |
| to infiltrate a particular area or facility, usually to gain | |
| some kind of information.[/li] | |
| [li]Scouting: These are missions where soldiers are required to | |
| scout out particular areas or groups of interest.[/li] | |
| [li]Escort: These are missions where soldiers are required to | |
| escort an important pony or package to a specific location.[/li] | |
| [li]Delivery: These are missions where soldiers are required to | |
| deliver supplies, information, or VIP's to a specific | |
| location.[/li] | |
|
| |
| Level of Potential Difficulty: The missions undertaken by | |
| Equinox are often quite dangerous. As such, each mission must be | |
| ranked in difficulty so that soldiers with the proper | |
| combat/clearance rank and experience are able to undertake the | |
| mission properly, safely, and with minimal losses. | |
|
| |
| [li]Level 1: The lowest threat level, and easiest mission level | |
| available. Any soldier of any rank is able to undertake these | |
| missions, but it is mainly geared towards Privates and | |
| Corporals.[/li] | |
| [li]Level 2: The next threat level, it is higher in difficulty | |
| than level 1. Only soldiers that hold the rank of sergeant and | |
| higher are able to undertake these missions because of the | |
| potential threat of the mission.[/li] | |
| [li]Level 3: The next threat level, it is higher in difficulty | |
| than level 2. Only soldiers that hold the rank of lieutenent and | |
| higher are able to undertake these missions because of the | |
| potential threat of the mission.[/li] | |
| [li]Level 4: The next threat level, it is higher in difficulty | |
| than level 3. Only soldiers that hold the rank of colonel and | |
| higher are able to undertake these missions because of the | |
| potential threat of the mission.[/li] | |
| [li]Level 5: The next threat level, it is higher in difficulty | |
| than level 4. Only soldiers that hold the rank of captain, the | |
| highest rank achievable, and higher are able to undertake these | |
| missions because of the potential threat of the mission.[/li] | |
| [li]Level 6: The highest threat level, it is much higher in | |
| difficulty than level 5. Only Commander Broadshield and any | |
| soldiers he may bring on are able to undertake these missions | |
| because of the level threat of the mission.[/li] | |
|
| |
| Unit: The missions undertaken by Equinox are separated by unit. | |
| This is so that soldiers from the appropriate unit are able to | |
| undertake the appropriate missions. | |
|
| |
| [li]Combat Unit: The main fighting force of Equinox. Soldiers in | |
| the Combat Unit undertake most, if not all types of missions | |
| available.[/li] | |
| [li]Intel Unit: The recon soldiers and spies of Equinox. | |
| Soldiers in the Intel Unit mainly undertake Infiltration and | |
| Scouting missions.[/li] | |
| [li]Support Unit: The backup and support of Equinox. Soldiers in | |
| the Intel Unit occasionally assist the Combat Unit in missions, | |
| and they mainly undertake Escort and Defense missions[/li] | |
| [li]Medical Unit: The doctors, nurses, scientists, and medics of | |
| Equinox. Combat Medics in the Medical Unit mainly undertake | |
| Delivery Missions, as well as provide medical support to Combat | |
| Unit soldiers during Assault missions.[/li] | |

| Operations: Operations are the most uncommon work that Equinox | |
| involves itself in, and for good reason. Operations don't often | |
| come up unless there is a very high threat situation comes up, | |
| whether it be a natural disaster, an eldritch attack, or an | |
| enemy invasion. In the event that an operation comes up, | |
| multiple units, if not every member of Equinox has to be ready | |
| at the drop of a hat to mobilize and deploy anywhere, anytime, | |
| and ready for whatever the situation throws at them. If there is | |
| more than one operation commencing at a time, it is sorted | |
| mainly by urgency. | |
| Urgency: Operations are all mainly sorted by urgency, which | |
| shows the severity and the urgency of the need to deploy and | |
| complete the operation. | |
|
| |
| [li]SITCON 5: SITCON 5, also known as IDLE is the lowest level | |
| of urgency for operations. Mainly used for small, low threat, | |
| low level military operations.[/li] | |
| [li]SITCON 4: SITCON 4, also known as ATTENTION is the next | |
| level of urgency for operations. Mainly used for medium threat, | |
| medium level military operations.[/li] | |
| [li]SITCON 3: SITCON 3, also known as ALERT is the next level of | |
| urgency for operations. Mainly used for smaller scale natural | |
| disasters, but also used for some medium-high threat and level | |
| military operations.[/li] | |
| [li]SITCON 2: SITCON 2, also known as READY TO FIRE is the next | |
| level of urgency for operations. Mainly used for high threat, | |
| high level military operations, or in some cases, a major | |
| natural disaster. Has been triggered for Operation Hydra with | |
| CSF 'Anaconda' in Saddle Arabia.[/li] | |
| [li]SITCON 1: SITCON 1, also known as WEAPONS FREE is the | |
| highest level of urgency for operations. Only to be used if a | |
| major attack from an eldritch force, or an enemy invasion or | |
| offensive is imminent, in which every member of Equinox from | |
| everywhere is to be ready for war. Has not been triggered as of | |
| Tirek's Invasion.[/li] | |
