Search & Rescue
By: Brash and Carri Date: June 22, 2017, 3:01 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
High above Ponyville Carri soars through the skies with Brash in
tow, holding her by her tail.
Brash hangs by Carri's hoof, having trouble locating the pony
she handed Sprocket off to before setting her own house on fire.
"This isn't working. We'll have to fly low and search through
the windows."
"Is that..." Carri stops in the air to collect her thoughts,
whilst Brash swings from her hoof. "Is that an okay thing to
do?"
Brash throws her legs outward both in an attempt to stabilize
herself and to emphasize her next words, "Of course. We'll be in
public space. It's their fault if we can see into their private
space from where we are."
Carri nods, "Makes sense." She lowers herself to look through
windows, nearly dragging Brash through the dirt.
Brash flails to keep herself from the ground, "Hey, what're you
looking for!? I'm the one who knows what she looks like!"
Carri gasps and pulls up, just in time for Brash to spot her
target past a window. Without a thought, Brash flails more to
escape Carri's grasp, she rushes the door of the house face
first, which does nothing more than giving it a hard knock as
she falls back dazed. Carri gasps yet again and runs to Brash,
picking her up and giving her a shake to make sure she's okay.
Brash flops about in Carri's hooves giving an angry groan as she
waits for the stars to leave her eyes.

Anypony who wasn't familiar with Serenity wouldn't have noticed
her give a start as a loud crash sounded from the front door;
they may have seen her tail swish slightly to her right.
She sticks the knife back into the peanut butter she had been
spreading before heading to the front room. It couldn't have
been either of the fillies, though it did seem to have awoken
them from their nap time. She takes a moment to calm them and
tell them to sleep.
Her surprise is more apparent when she opens the door. Her hoof
goes to her neck, where her little pendant pouch would be
hanging if she hadn't left it on the counter while preparing the
sandwiches. She recovers quickly, though, and gives the pair a
gentle smile. "Oh, hello there, uh..." She furrows her brow
lightly, thinking back. "...I don't believe I caught your names
before. What brings you here?"
She chooses to ignore the whispering of the fillies who clearly
did not resume their naps, judging by the fact that they're
right up against the doorway from the other room.

"I'm Carri Air, the delivery mare for Gizmo Industries!" She
responds with much enthusiasm. Carri then lifts Brash so she's
face-to-face with Serenity, "And this is my best friend and
employer, Brash!"
Still dazed Brash's face scrunches in disgust with a groan to
match as she's brought toward Serenity.
Carri continues with a smile in great contrast to her friend,
"We're here 'cause Brash gave you a thing and she wants it
back." She pulls Brash back a bit to give the mare space to
respond.

"It's certainly nice to meet you. I'm Serenity," replies the
mare in question, beaming back at Carri. She glances back at
Brash. "It was... Sprocket, right? She's right inside; wait here
if you would please."
Serenity turns back and walks to the kitchen. Once she's out of
sight, two unicorn fillies run from their hiding place up to the
two guests at the door. They open fire with a barrage of
questions and random statements, telling Carri she's pretty and
that her wings are SO BIG and that it must be exciting to
deliver packages and did she bring anything for them and today
one of them saw an ant, and well the other one saw TWO ants, so
there...
All while jumping up and down and crowding the two.

The sudden flood of questions and comments overwhelms Carri, who
freezes in place as she tries to process what to say. Her grip
on Brash fails, letting her flop onto the floor.
Brash stands and dusts herself off, reeling her head away from
the two unicorns. "I see two ants right now." She growls with a
glare.
Carri pipes up just as Brash is done, "I do like making
deliveries!" She exclaims.

The fillies snap their heads around when Brash growls. "What!?
Where?!"
"Girls", Serenity says, appearing in the doorway with a pouch
and a sandwich in her right hoof. Sheepishly, they take a seat,
looking to either side of their foalsitter. "Now where are you
supposed to be that you aren't?"
"Ummmm..." says one, appearing deep in thought as the other
seems to be struck by an epiphany. "On the couch in the den!"
She shouts enthusiastically.
Serenity nods her head, and the fillies run back into the house
laughing and taunting each other. She turns to watch them go,
then back to the guests. "Sorry about that. Are either of you
hungry?"

With excited eyes Carri takes a firm step forward, forgetting
that Brash is in front of her. Brash gives way to this motion,
easily toppling to the side and onto her back. "I am!" Carri
proclaims, eyeing the sandwich.
Brash sighs, making no effort to recover from her position. "So
long as you expect nothing of me in return. I'll accept what I
perceive to be an offer of food."

Serenity tears the sandwich (roughly) in half [s]with her mighty
hooves[/s]. "I ask nothing in return, save you eat it. And that
you don't get it on Sprocket, she prefers smooth. I think." She
hoofs one half to each of them, then holds the pouch with the
aforementioned gem-thingy out where Brash can easily reach it.

Carri eats her half of the sandwich out of Serenity's hoof in a
near instant. "Thanks!" She blurts out the moment she's done.
Brash nabs her half and stuffs it in her mouth before snatching
the pouch out of Serenity's hoof. She empties the orb from it
and lets it fall to the ground as she places Sprocket upon her
head and bursts into a gallop, only slowing down once she's out
of earshot.
Carri stands baffled and frozen as Brash's sudden actions
weren't expected. She considers whether she should follow or
stay, ultimately causing her to stay as she ponders for far too
long.

Serenity blinks. "Well." That pretty much sums it up.
She sweeps her wing down to pick up the discarded pouch. She may
miss Sprocket, with her reassuring flashes when she spoke. Even
if she never was able to figure out what it meant. "I imagine
she can be a trying employer. I hope she pays you well?"
Back around the corner unseen, the fillies can be heard again
whispering.
