"I've been looking for you, brat! Guess who's back!"
Kuroshi had returned to London, and his first task he wanted to
get done was fighting Kendrix again after the humiliating loss
he suffered at Kendrix and Future Donny's hands.
Kendrix chuckles to himself and smiles under his scarf.
Kendrix: You have no idea how long I've been waiting for you to
show our face again. I've been keeping some of my new abilities
secret just so you wouldn't find out about them before our next
showdown. He says, almost gleeful that Kuroshi was back.
Kuroshi glares at Kendrix. Kuroshi: This won't be like last
time, brat. Now that I know you have vampire ninja skills, you
won't hit me with those attacks this time. And this time, your
little death wraith friend isn't here help you. He then smiles.
And this time, I'm not gonna play around.
Kendrix: We'll see. I will hit you with whatever attacks I want.
Kuroshi: Don't think you're the only one that's gotten stronger,
kid! He says as he gets ready to start their fight.
Kendrix: You have no idea what you're in for. He says with a
laugh to himself, his pride having gotten to the point where
he'd become almost overconfident.
Kuroshi was still in anger mode after what happened at Phantom's
bar, and wasn't doing his usual banter with Kendrix. Kuroshi was
here for the kill, and Kendrix knew it. Hell, they both knew
that the other was out for blood (Or what constitutes as blood
in Kuroshi's case).
The two start out using their own martial arts stepping methods,
attacking each other using martial arts rather than firing
supernatural energy at each other. Despite the fact they were
trying to strike fatal blows on each other, Kendrix and Kuroshi
were just warming up as they fight each other.
Kuroshi switches up his attacks, and decides to go with the
Satsui no Hado. He does a Shoryuken uppercut, with whispering
darkness radiating from his technique.
Kendrix uses his own martial arts training, and protects himself
from the whispering darkness with his own purifying darkness. He
was using death wraith power to utilize purifying darkness, a
skill from his training with death wraiths like Kierran.
Kendrix's own variation of the death wraith's purifying darkness
was being used like a barrier. This darkness was using purifying
power of angelic presences and combining it with Kendrix's dark
energy.
Kuroshi scoffs a bit. Kuroshi: Darn... You have gotten stronger
with those death wraith abilities. Your purifying darkness isn't
that bad. He smiles. Then let's change it up. He says as he
starts charging up crimson energy, bringing his hands together
as he focuses. He goes into a crimson mode, where he combines
his Satsui no Hado with his crimson energy.
Kendrix just smiles. Kendrix: Hey, you figured that one out. I
was never able to use combine those powers effectively. He says
sarcastically.
Kuroshi chuckles to himself. So. How are you going to counter
this one?
Kendrix just smiles. Kendrix: I suppose I'm just going to have
to rely on my own martial arts skills. He calms himself and
breathes deeply for a moment before he focuses his golden
lightning, distorting the area around him. He gets into a combat
stance. Kendrix: Leiji Style... The Lightning Strike style...
With my own spin of course... I have different Leiji styles for
my different lightning skills. This one is going to really throw
you for a loop. He says with a smile.
Kuroshi scoffs and attacks, but Kendrix ducks his attacks. As
Kendrix gets looks like he's too far away to strike, he strikes
multiple pressure points with his Leiji style, amping his speed
and power with the gold lightning to strike multiple times. The
attacks look like Kendrix stretches his arms to strike, so even
Kuroshi was confused before he realized what was happening.
Kuroshi coughs up blood as his pressure points are hit hard with
the golden lightning.
Kuroshi: You use the golden distortion lightning to affect
space-time. You shortened the distance to throw me off, and
slowed time to strike faster and harder than you should have. He
says, analyzing the technique.
Kendrix smiles. Kendrix: Be thankful you don't have bones to
break... Or I'd have broken all your bones by now with my Kenpo
teacher's style. He says with a smile, remembering his training
with Lily Shiraishi in his timeline.
Kuroshi: You won't hit me again... I'm re- He stops as Kendrix
was suddenly in front of him, and struck him in the stomach with
a blast of golden lightning. Kuroshi was knocked back, flying
back into a wall. He hits the wall hard, and falls to the
ground, coughing. He tries to get up, but has trouble
reorienting himself.
Kendrix chuckles. Kendrix: Hope you're not done already. He says
with a smile as he points his finger at Kuroshi. Come on... Get
up! You're not that weak. He says, his tone turning dark as his
smile disappears.
Kuroshi tries to get back to his feet, now angrier than before.
He looks to Kendrix with venom in his eyes.
Kuroshi: Don't get cocky brat. This is far from over... I still
have my trum- He was cut off by a magic blast from angelic magic
using holy lightning. Kuroshi was so off guard that he couldn't
even react to the 6 more shots Kendrix fired at him, blasting
pieces of Kuroshi's body off with the magic power.
Kendrix just glares at Kuroshi. Kendrix: Get up. I'm not done
with you yet. He says darkly.
Kuroshi: That was magic. That's impossible! How could you have
Celestian power AND magic?! It makes no sense! He says angrily.
Kendrix just looks at Kuroshi, firing more small angelic
lightning magic blasts, blasting off pieces of Kuroshi's body.
Kendrix: I'm not allowed to talk about this one. But I'm going
to enjoy watching you try to figure it out. He says coldly as he
continues to blast Kuroshi's body. Kendrix had promised not to
tell anyone about how Kendrix had volunteered as a test subject
for Kindron's experiment to give someone magic through Lunarian
means of a substance known as SomaDrops, since Kindron wanted to
keep it secret so that others wouldn't try to replicate it or
try to abuse it.
However, Kuroshi's shock wears off as he screams in anger,
blasting red crimson energy in front of him to block the magic
attacks.
Kuroshi gets up with even more venom in his eyes as he
regenerates the damage done to his body. His crimson energy
glows as Kuroshi gets angrier.
Kuroshi: That's it... You've done it, now brat. No more playing
around. I'm going to show you why I'm better than you. He says
as his power starts to flare. I know one thing you cannot do...
Your crimson energy. You can't use your red lantern power
because you lose control. But I won't. I use my hatred and I
embrace it! He says as he screams and powers up.
His voice gets low as he gets ready, glowing red.
Kuroshi: With darkness and energy of crimson red... Your body
may soon be dead... But your soul will be consumed by my hate...
When I take your soul and seal your fate! He says, reciting his
red lantern energy oath that was unique to him.
Kendrix stands there and watches, unable to hide his interest in
Kuroshi's power-up.
He chuckles as his red lantern power. I can now use this power
fully. And you canno... Wait. Why aren't you affected by my
power? You should at least be glowing red with my red lantern
power active... He says, noticing that Kendrix wasn't glowing
with crimson energy. Since Kendrix's crimson energy was normally
affected by the red lantern energy, it should have been
glowing,but wasn't even reacting.
Kendrix chuckles.
Kendrix: It used to. But that was when I had red lantern energy.
I don't have that anymore.
Kuroshi: You can't remove that power without killing the host.
That's like taking an engine out of a car. It is dead without
it. And your crimson energy depends on that power. You were born
with it. Your power should be crippled at the very least! He
says to Kendrix, not understanding how Kendrix could still be
alive if his red lantern power was removed.
Kendrix: It would be. Let's just say, I had it removed at the
same time I put a new power in its place. It's like changing the
engine of a car without turning the car off. Remove it at the
same moment you put the new engine in before the car dies. It's
a tight window, but it's doable.
Kuroshi: So you replaced it with a different power? He asks,
annoyed.
Kendrix: Yeah. I studied my power, and the power of that Exiles
version of me. I came to realize something. I wondered why his
unique energy was gold and mine was red. We may be different,
but he and I are still similar enough that I felt like there was
something different about him that I didn't understand. I felt
like I was missing something. And then it hit me... It's because
the red lantern energy that makes my crimson energy so potent
isn't a natural power to me. I can convert my emotions to anger,
but anger isn't a natural state for me like it is to my father.
That's why I could never control my crimson energy when it goes
into the red lantern state. Red just isn't my color.
Kuroshi: He's an alternate universe version of you, and a
Celestian, right? So why would his power make any difference to
you? You're two different people as far as the multiverse is
concerned.
Kendrix: Well, that's the question. Our powers are very
different, but he and I are the same at our core. Both unique
for what we are. Thanks to understanding what made his golden
energy what it is, I figured out how to bring out my true
potential. My potential was never in the crimson energy. Kendrix
forms what should have been crimson energy, but was now a golden
yellow mix of demon energy, angel energy and yellow lantern
energy (instead of red lantern energy), into a ball of energy as
though showing it off.
Kuroshi stands silent, wondering what Kendrix was going to do
next.
Kendrix then starts to glow yellow, and floats off the ground.
Kendrix: It doesn't matter, day or night... Evil will be seen in
shadow's sight... Let those who try to deny my might... Burn
with my power, the power of fear's light! He says, using his
yellow lantern oath to ignite his yellow lantern energy. As he
does, the red on his outfit turns yellow, with his shirt, scarf
and the red clouds turning yellow on his outfit. Even his hair
and eyes turn yellow, as he glows with the yellow lantern
energy.
Kuroshi stands shocked, but not backing away. Kuroshi: So. You
found a way to replace your red lantern energy with yellow
lantern power? That doesn't seem possible, but you always find a
way to do something unexpected.
Kendrix: Yeah... With enemies bringing out their stupid light
abilities, I decided it was time for me to have some BS light
abilities of my own. He says with a smile.
Kuroshi summons the blood from his body, using the red lantern
blood manipulation. Kuroshi: Let's see how powerful your energy
is!
The two fly at each other, using their lantern energies to
counter each other. Kuroshi tries to use his blood as a shield,
while Kendrix starts firing beams of yellow light using his
yellow lantern energy. However, from behind him, Kuroshi is
grabbed by a yellow lantern energy construct, which looked like
Phantom. As Kuroshi sees the construct and looks into the fake
Phantom's eyes, he winces a bit. A second Phantom construct
appears to his other side and grabs him, momentarily paralyzing
Kuroshi in fear.
Kendrix: Your fear was easy to read. You fear Phantom. I don't
what he did to you after the bar incident, but I couldn't read
you nearly this easily before. He says to Kuroshi.
Kuroshi blasts the fake Phantoms and then turns to Kendrix.
Kuroshi: You would fear him too if you knew how monstrous he
really was under that charming personality he puts on. Even
beings of no fear can be made to fear the things of the Shadow
Realm! He says as he tries to fire red energy blasts at Kendrix,
using the crimson energy amplified by the red lantern power.
Kendrix: Then I guess I have to work harder to make you fear me.
He says jokingly as he takes off his jacket and throws it to the
side. It lands on the floor and sinks into the floor due to its
weight.
Kendrix: Crimson Spirit. He says as he unleashes his Fullbring
hollow power. His scarf turns back into a crimson red form and
unwraps itself from his neck and then wraps around both his arms
and two of his fingers as he holds his hands up to fire blasts
of energy.
Kendrix starts firing blasts of crimson energy at Kuroshi, who
tries to block them with his red lantern power. However, the
crimson blasts seem to destroy the energy, making holes in
Kuroshi's defense. One blast even blasts right through Kuroshi's
shoulder, causing Kuroshi to have to dodge.
Kuroshi: Blast it! That energy is spirit destruction power! He
says as he dodges. He gets an idea and teleports using his
whispering darkness. He appears behind Kendrix and summons his
scythe, trying to cut through Kendrix's shoulder. However, the
moment that the scythe comes into contact with the scarf behind
Kendrix's neck, the scarf destroys the part of the scythe it
touches.
Kuroshi's scythe is split in half by the destruction of the
piece of the staff part of the scythe, causing the disconnected
part to fall to the ground, while Kuroshi jumps back, holding
the other half. He spins it, holding the other scythe blade
(since it was a double edged scythe) to attack since he only had
half the scythe. Kuroshi: Not just spirit destruction, but
matter destruction too?! He says to himself.
Kendrix turns and faces Kuroshi. Kendrix then forms two blades
of crimson energy from his hands. He then moves and slashes
Kuroshi, who tries to summon all the energy he could to block.
Kuroshi is unsuccessful though, and he barely manages to avoid
being cut in half. He jumps away, and tries to reorient himself.
However, his body wasn't regenerating the spirit destruction
easily, and Kuroshi knew he couldn't stand much more.
Kuroshi: It's not possible! How can the boy have improved this
much?! Magic. The power of the yellow lanterns. And that spirit
destruction hollow power... What else does he have now that I
don't?! He says to himself angrily.
Kendrix smiles as he walks up to Kuroshi, as smug as can be.
Kendrix: Skill. He says in response to Kuroshi's question about
what he has now.
Kuroshi grinds his teeth. Kuroshi: This isn't over, brat! I will
find a way to beat you! He says as he teleports away in a burst
of whispering darkness.
Kendrix deactivates his Fullbring and finds his jacket, putting
it back on, and returning to normal as he deactivates his yellow
lantern power as he readjusts his scarf around his neck.
Kendrix: And he's gone. Oh well. He says with a shrug.
Later, Kendrix visits Kindron at the Darkfire-Tolodora
Technologies building, and jumps up to hug Kindron.
Kendrix: Those SomaDrops you gave me worked awesomely. My magic
kicks so much a*s. You are now my favorite uncle. He says
jokingly.
Kindron chuckles as he hugs Kendrix back. Kindron: Pretty sure
I'm your only uncle, kiddo. He says in thought, not really
knowing about Alice's half-brother, Damien (another child of
Lucifer) or thinking much about Alice's side of the family at
all.
Kendrix: Either way... I have you to thank for that.
Kindron: Hey. You said yes to being a test subject for it. I'd
thank you, but I feel like we both got enough benefit out of the
deal. You got magic, and I got to make sure there are no side
effects to Celestian Time Lord DNA. He says jokingly.
Elsewhere in London.
In the dark depths of one of Nightshade's hideouts, Kuroshi
stumbles around in the dark. He goes to an office and sits in
the chair, bleeding his dark spirit energy all over like blood
as he tries to regenerate the spirit destruction damage.
Kuroshi: Dammit... Where did I go wrong? I'm supposed to be
better than that brat. I developed his power further with my
skills. How could he suddenly have gotten so much stronger than
me? He says to himself.
From the shadows, a voice could be heard as a man appears behind
him. Man: Pathetic. You were so strong, and now you're so weak.
He says to Kuroshi.
Kuroshi turns and tries to get up, but is held down by his
shoulder by the man. Kuroshi: What is this?! Who are you?!
The man leans closer, revealing himself to be alternate Kierran.
Alternate Kierran: You haven't heard? I'm running a new
organization alongside Nightshade and the Witches. Right now,
call it "86."
Kuroshi tilts his head. Kuroshi: What kind of a name is that for
an organization?
Alternate Kierran: It's a code-name, moron. He says
sarcastically. A name to call back to the Kierran of this world,
one who's team was listed as Team 86 in the death wraith
registry. I'm doing it destabilize the heroes so they don't know
who to trust. They don't know I'm here yet, and this will have
Anna Shadow and Kierran Black searching for someone connected to
their old team as the mysterious new villain in town. Not only
that, but they also won't find any information on us because 86
is just a number which will be difficult to determine who is
talking about our organization and who is just talking about a
number. No one knows my organization's true location, name or
even... No, you're right. Why would you know any of that if I'm
keeping it so secret? He says, realizing there was a reason
Kuroshi was in the dark (no pun intended).
Kuroshi: What do you want from me? He says, glaring at Alternate
Kierran.
Alternate Kierran: I'm your boss, and your fallen angel friend's
boss now. You work for me now by Phantom and Malice's orders.
And it's my responsibility to make sure you don't embarrass us
with your weakness. So I'm going to give you a little boost to
help you fight that kid in the future that kicked your a*s. He
holds up his Hogyoku, and blasts Kuroshi with hollow energy.
Kuroshi screams as the hollow power bonds to him, causing
immense pain to his body. Alternate Kierran continues blasting
Kuroshi with hollow energy to bond to him, almost seeming to
enjoy the pain Kuroshi was in.
End.
