How do some Muslims see the UK?

I don't want to generalize and say that all Muslims see the UK
as a lawless place; but if the three Muslim men accused of
raping a woman on the Brighton seafront are guilty, I'd say some
definitely see the UK as a place where anything goes.
Story here:

It doesn't make sense to me for Muslim men to be seeking asylum
or safety in the UK while doing this to a woman. The same
seafront (more or less) was also where someone was attacked at
a Pride event. The police are looking for one man although there
were two attackers. What's going on?

I live in Brighton Kerry, I see the three men lived in other
areas of the country. I guess it depends on what they are
allowed to get away with in their own countries and surely if
they are found guilty then it shows that there are consequences.
Personally I dont see how they can be found not guilty on this
occasion.

Brighton is the gay capital of the U.K. and Pride is a massive
event now, its not surprising that there are problems from time
to time as we often have problems with drunk people as we have a
lot of clubs/ bars ect. This isnt a new thing and its not
always Muslims.
I must admit that over the past few weeks I have tired of trying
to defend the reputation of the U.K. to those who do not live
here. On Christian board there are a number of members who paint
such a bad picture and its all based on what they here in the
press and videos on you tube, often as not the full picture of
events is not seen so they think that Birmingham ( for example )
is 98% Muslim when they reality is much much lower. They think
that everyone here is arrested for posting things on social
media , when the reality is that a few people have crossed the
line. We do have problems, like all nations.
I think the reason people come here is because they have heard
that they are provided for - money. Its also the last port of
call as they go through and are rejected elsewhere in Europe. We
were kind and generous and now its exploited.

It used to be here in the US that gay events were generally
safer than most others since the organizers didn't want any bad
publicity and arranged for a high level of security. My guess
is it's that way now too in Brighton; but it's the bad apples
that make the news.

I think you're probably right.
What's unfortunate is that when men from Muslim countries do bad
things, it could make it harder for the other people who would
like to live in the UK -- and some of them might have legitimate
asylum claims too.
You had mentioned before that you live in Brighton which is one
reason I found this story interesting.
