Accepting the Inevitability

It is a well acknowledged fact of journalism that bad news
'sells' and good news attracts relatively little attention.
The same applies to Christian forums and I find that hard to
reconcile with the 'born again' concept of "old things"
supposedly being "passed away" and replaced by the "new things"
of a "new birth".
Every highly proactive forum that I have known (both mine and
others) have been kept active by the stimulus of controversy,
which renders our heading of "United in Diversity" as being true
only in the sense that our membership (myself included) are so
contented by our 'unity' that the forum now "sleeps peacefully"
with only a little interaction between three members and
desertion by the remainder.
AMEN (so let it be).

Mike yesterday I penned a Shakespearian ode on what constitutes
'Accepting the inevitability' but it went the way of all flesh
like, 'I shot an arrow into the air it fell to earth I know not
where' but that was yesterday and as the song says, 'All my
troubles seemed so far away'
Like the first garden 'all things have the seeds for their own
destruction within' and unfortunately 'christian sites' do not
escape that, it seems that if a site makes it to longevity, it
tends to morphe' into instead of a corporate adding, it becomes
a platform of an individuals own understanding, and
self-I-ishness can be that seed.
Most of us on your site are on the slippery slope age wise, and
for H and I not a lot of spiritual stuff to blow our thinning
hair up, site wise I find the tendency that if one puts out a
question, it ends up like the arrow, so one presumes it's not
manna for the eater but what is, is a valid question?
So Mike the site Inevitability buck lies in your court, we all
have lived before sites and will continue to live by what the
Lord supplies.

H and I have read thru the Rev' book twice, KJ and the Amplified
to no avail, so have now departed to the book of Joshua, doesn't
cramp the large grey cells quite so much,(we are watching Mr H
Poirot at the moment) and have just popped Achan and his lot in
the ground,
he paid a serious price for a bit of covetousness, but obedience
is always better, what interested me, was as that we know that
the covenant with God was a corporate one and so all suffer when
broken, but that the silver, a type of redemption was hidden,
like Grace locked up in the tabernacle, there was no redemption
available for Achan and all that he had.

Dave,
I had already lost every game without securing a single point
when, at match point, the ball arrived into, what you call, "my
court".
But I was too old, and too tired, to even reach it and hit a
return.
At which point (my last post) it was game, set, and match.

Hmmm So, �no answer was the stern reply�� okay.
Rain , stop play�.
I had a chuckle in my non existent beard, that people do come on
to really look at nothing, struck me as being a bit odd, but I
also think when God said to A and E �replenish� that there had
to be a plenish first before the re bit, which to me is also a
bit odd, plus did they actually fulfill that?
Odd isn�t🙃🙃🙃.

Heigh Ho,Heigh Ho and off to shovel snow I go, there's a line in
a song, 'For sentimental reasons----' senti-"mental": Helen
revamped her bedroom and a bookcase became reduntant, and my
intent was to render it to the black bin trash, but 'senti' came
into play and 'mental' took over, resulting in 2 hours of
de-construction, (plus a chunk out of my finger) of my old work
top and the incorporating of the old bookcase into a redesigned
work top.

Oh no not the dreaded white stuff !!!!!!
Pleased you got some use out of the old book case, it�s quite
strange how the senti- mental kicks in with things����.
I have a couple of painting projects for when I move ( 18th Nov
) and I leave work on the 21st ..they would not release me on
medical grounds ( although my line manager is trying to change
that ) So yesterday I handed in my notice. My knee is
degenerative maniscus damage ( not a tear ) ���.am I senti-
mental about my job, not a chance �.but the people, well that�s
a different story.
It�s a shame that this place hasn�t grown as it could or should
have ������.

Rita, all it takes is for the saints to see others more
important than themselves and to add a �little� something to the
pot imho.
Why is it as one seniorizes that �jobs� all of a sudden become
�projects� my son in law has to have a project on the go?
I actually like a painting job and I have a nose for finding
mis-tints and convincing Helen it will look fine
😉😉. I get no discount at the paint store now.
The more I plod along this Christian road I draw the conclusion
that the Lord is never in a hurry but is never late, Caleb gets
his mountain 40 years later on his road, the psalmist in the
13th writing which is a relatively short one, in the first two
verses he has four �How long�s� it really points to the thought
that he has temporarily lost his �faith� walk, my mate preached
on this last week as he waits for his results on his cancer
check up, we are praying and believing with him, �lest the enemy
says, I have overpowered him� his point was �We have to keep the
faith light on in the dark places�
How ever � the how long is�.
Rita; so the move is on, can you paint before that date or do
you have to wait until you are in?
The knee seems a definite � how long� project, no pun
intended😇 we will continue to pray with you, as the
psalmist at the end of his psalm pens; � But I have trusted in
Thine unfailing love������� yippee his faith light is back on.

Hi Dave and Mike - nice to you post Mike even if it was only to
quote something I said. Xxxx
The painting projects are items of furniture that need a fresh
coat of paint. Decorating some of the rooms in the new house
will be done once we have moved. Not sure there will be much to
do apart from the two bedrooms.
So, has hockey season started yet, must have by now xx
The knee thing has kind of been used in so many ways. We have a
new manager and they have just brought about changes in the
housekeeping. Ten hour shifts and because of that I really don�t
think they understand the physical demands of the job. Also
rolling rotas ( I was quite happy with how it was done before )
My knee has meant that I have a reason not to do the longer
shifts. I think I would also end up getting frustrated by the
demands and lack of understanding of the job. Leaving after
moving just seems so right, and I do believe it has been in the
Lords timing. Also I have nearly finishing counselling which has
laid a lot of things to rest.
I know the next phase of my life will not be without its
challenges or concerns but I am kind of at the stage where a
line is being drawn and a new phase begin, and it feels
positive. ( whether in fact it will be that I have no idea )
