A Garden For Two
By: Lady Trinity Date: February 14, 2017, 7:10 am
---------------------------------------------------------
((Set after Unlike A Kettle of Fish))
Lady Trinity was sitting on an elaborate, white bench with soft
velvet cushions in the middle of the backyard of her large
estate. It was a tranquil evening, with tall hedges that had
glowing flowers of all kinds intertwined in them, a pond with a
small yet eloquent-looking water fountain dancing in the middle
of it and there were quite a few canine guards patrolling the
outskirts of her property. The four canines whom usually
accompanied her were not present right now, since, she was at
home.
The Shyren was flicking through a rather large flat book as
fireflies danced about her; waist-deep in thought as she drank
in whatever words and images she was reading. Beside her was one
of her feline maids; setting down a tray with tea and sugar onto
the table beside her.

Link made his way to Lady Trinity's estate by way of local
directions, he sought her out in person as he failed to figure
out the device she had given him. Link was in awe at the beauty
of the estate that would rival the courtyard of the castle back
home. He held out his fingers running them across the flowers
before setting sight upon the most lovely flower of them all.
There she was in all her divinity and the hero's heart was set
aflutter once more. He gathered his wit and approached as soon
he came into her line of sight he would kneel on one knee while
digging his blade into the ground. He lowered his head greeting
her respectfully. He would be a far different man than the boy
she had met the other day. His deep yet gentle voice spoke out
addressing her. "Lady Trinity forgive this intrusion. A thousand
pardons but I failed to figure out the device you gave me the
other day. So I decided to seek you out in person. Given the
lovely sight before me I no longer regret this decision. I'm
reporting awaiting your orders Mi Lady." He spoke respectfully
trying to hold back a smile.

"Oh!" the Shyren let out a sudden gasp, taken completely by
surprise by Link's arrival. She cowered into her bench at first,
the feline maid hissed as her claws extended, just about to
pounce as soon as Trinity was ready to sound the alarm -
until she heard him speak; prompting her to take a better look
at him. She squinted a little as he spoke, taking note of the
deeper voice and the familiar clothing. She waved a dismissive
hand at her maid, commanding her to settle down and she promptly
obeyed.
"Link?" she inquired, "You're not a little boy? I haven't
summoned you just yet, so, I have nothing for you to do tonight
I'm afraid. Especially with my plans being to stay at home until
tomorrow."

Upon the feline's hostile response raised an eyebrow and
silently muttered woof as if to give the servant a scare. Link
nodded conforming his lady's beliefs. "What you see before you
Lady Trinity is the real me. I haven't been feeling myself of
late ever since I fell into the Underground. It seems the
problem eventually fixed itself. Please forgive me Lady Trinity
I did not mean to startle you. One as fair as should be granted
the proper respect of a royal greeting. Mi Lady if I may?" He
took her hand lightly placing a kiss on it out of respect before
he continued to talk. "You'll have to forgive me for being so
forward but I couldn't stay away. Ever since I saw you at
waterfall the other day, your voice your visage. If it's not to
bold to say her ladyship is quite alluring." After he spoke
respectfully he smiled making a little joke. "I mean you've got
an angler light. Maybe that's why."

Elloise Trinity was stunned at first, glancing at the hand he
kissed and then the lure; as if exchanging looks with them.
There was a short pause until:
"Ohohhohoho!" she giggled, placing a hand courteously over her
mouth, "Aren't you quite the poet?"
She then handed the book she was reading to her maid; whom in
turn eagerly accepted it and scurried away in a hurry.
"Well I am quite surprised, but also glad, that you are well
again. Nothing upsets me more quite like seeing another so ill.
Since you have managed to go through the trouble of finding me
and getting past my guards with ease; perhaps you have earned
yourself to spend some time with me?" she commented with a grin,
patting the cushioned bench space beside her.

Link's icy blue eyes almost lit up as she offered to spend the
evening with him. He took a seat next to her but not before
giving an extra low and respectful bow. "Mi Lady it would be an
honor to spend an evening by your side." Link went a little red
being this close to her looking into her shimmering golden eyes
hidden behind the veil. "Well slipping past them wasn't hard.
That's part of the reason I wanted to serve as your protector. A
rose as delicate as yourself needs a thorn at her side. Thank
you graciously for this pleasure. I must say the gardens here
are charming. They almost make me pine for home. The only thing
missing is the sunlight bouncing of the water onto your
shimmering scales. Tell me Mi Lady what is life like in the
Underground?" He asked his pointy ears ready to hang off her
every word.

"Hmm is that so? Then perhaps I am in need of replacement
guards; so I agree, it is fortuitous that we have crossed paths
the other day." she then giggled again, gently placing both of
her hands on her cheeks bashfully, "Dear Link you are too much!
And yes, the gardens are quite lovely. They were first planted
by my parents quite a while ago now."
She then looked up to him, "Your home? What is is like? What is
sunlight like? I have heard that it can make human skin change
colour." she asked curiously before looking to her hands.
Her voice took more of a somber tone, "Life, down here, is
difficult. It's dangerous and a cruel place. Many locals are
kind, but, there are some whom are absolutely horrid." she then
looked up at him with a slightly forced smile, "But, I am also
very fortunate. I have many monsters here who generally care
about my - and my family's well being."

As Trinity placed her hands on her cheeks and giggled Link's
heart skipped a beat, he felt like swooning over just how
charming he found the noble lady. Gathering his wits he
responded in kind to her questions. Thinking of home Link
smiled. "The world above there are no walls or ceilings just an
endless clear blue sky. The sun gives light and life to all the
goddess has created. It was a land I would have died
defending......" Both trailing into a somber tone Link smiled
standing dusting himself off. He walked over to a patch of
wildly overgrown grass and pulled out his blade. With a swift
spinning slash his steel cut down the grass in a single strike.
Kneeling within the figure the figure he had carved into the
grass Trinity would be able to see from her seat it was a large
heart carved into her lawn. "Please come sit with me Mi Lady.
Tell me of your family. I'm glad the locals here treat you as
you should be. While I may no longer be able to see the sun Your
Ladyship is a beaming ray of hope in my eyes."

Trinity stared at him, wide-eyed with wonder, "No walls nor
ceiling? Surely not! What prevents the sky from falling? And
endless? Does it truly go on forever?" she asked, feeling both
fascinated and baffled by the very concept.
When Link invited her over, Trinity bashfully hid a smile behind
a hand before she agreed to sit next to him. However, before
taking a seat, she clapped her hands twice and within minutes
the feline maid reappeared with a red velvet blanket and
stretched out on the grass next to link before Trinity sat upon
it. Once sitting she dismissed the maid again.
When asked the question, Lady Trinity went silent for a moment.
Thinking about what to say and along with some thoughts about
the large flat book she had been looking at earlier.
"I am the eldest of three sisters. Elloise Trinity, Aceline
Trinity and Berdine Trinity. My father, Alicio Trinity, was an
aspiring inventor. He had amazing ideas, but when it came down
to actually make them, he lacked the sharp mind to be able to
physically make them. He couldn't commission others either,
since it was likely for another scientist to steal his ideas;
but he also trusted next to no one outside his family. My
mother, Gaia Trinity, was an amazing singer; I swear that she
had the most beautiful voice anyone could hear either above or
Underground. My father loved her singing and many of his
inventive ideas, tried to integrate some form of involvement of
her voice whenever possible. They were inseparable." she spoke
with fondness in her tone as she recalled back to some memories
of her family as she stared at a golden flower tipped with red
at the ends of the petals on the ground in front of them.
She then looked to Link again, "So, what about you? Care to tell
me something else about yourself?"

The way he spoke was full of hope in describing such a thing.
"The sky just is Mi Lady. If floats above all stretching on
forever and ever. It really is a sight that must be seen to be
believed. Link's smile faded when she started to talk about
family. "By the way you spoke It sounds like they are no longer
with us. I'm sorry for your loss Mi Lady, you have my deepest
sympathies. Don't sell your father short the world needs
visionaries as it needs inventors. After all without the idea
the blue prints can never be drawn. As for your Mother I think
you may have inherited some of her gift. Your voice was like a
siren's song when I met you at the waterfall." Link moved into
the rug and crossed his moving onto a happier topic. "The eldest
of three sisters. I bet they are just as lovely and charming as
yourself. I cannot wait to meet them." Link was slowly turning
pink the longer he gazed into her golden eyes. He couldn't help
but drift into a fantasy of the two being joined in wedlock as
Trinity's white dress and veil evoked the image of a bride. He
was now a brilliant shade of red declining to talk about
himself. "It's unfitting for a gentlemen to talk about himself
when A Lady his hosting."
