Part II: What's Behind the Veil

((Please do not post in this thread until you have had your
character exit any Part One threads they may still be in. Thank
you.))
((Note: This thread is only reserved for characters whom have
established a good or close relationship with Lady Trinity.))
----
Link was stationed to guard the valuables hidden within the
official home estate of Lady Trinity while she was away to take
care of some important business. He was given strict orders to
not let anyone in the house if they did not give Her Ladyship a
good first impression of, nor got along well with at all.
However, if she got along with any of them, they were welcome to
wait inside for her return under his supervision... how Link
decides to honor this or not was up to him. It also provided him
- and any of her allies - to walk through her home and possibly
find out more about her while she was away. Though, it was
rather unusual for there to be an absence of servants, butlers
and maids running around. The entire house felt uncomfortably
empty and quiet.
Inside the mansion everything look immaculate, the decorations
were of much older times and the Trinitys certainly didn't mind
going overboard with spending their coin. Should he go into
Trinity's room, he would find it equally as pristine-clean. The
bed was large and decorated with white and gold quilts, a tall
frame surrounded the plush bed with lace curtains and there were
at least a dozen different pillows covering the head of the bed.
There was also a desk, which was rather odd since it looked
really out of place. It's design looked more of modern times,
but it also appeared to be cheaply made. On top of it was a
run-down desk lamp, some important documetns spread across it
and a closed fie hidden within a folder with the words
"Confidential" stamped in red at the top of it along with the
words hastily written in running writing, 'Pain au citron.'

It had been a while since I was hired by Lady Trinity, and in
that time, I had undertaken plenty of practice in unfamiliar
environments with Cupcake; I was quite confident that we were
ready to go. And as such, I had come to her mansion to report
that, since it was drawing close to the time when I would be
escorting whatever the artifact was anyways, might as well get
there early, right? The bakery had already been closed and shut
down, with a promise to be back soon.
Leaving cupcake outside in the courtyard and telling him to stay
calm, I approached the door- How peculiar. There was a boy in
green at the door. Well, if he was in the employ of Lady
Trinity, he certainly wasn't human- and he looked pretty strong,
too, with that sword and shield of his... I wouldn't be fighting
him if it was at all possible. So for now, I decided to go up to
the door and greet him politely, since that was the socially
acceptable standard here in the underground.
"Greetings- Um, may I please come in? I have something to
discuss with Lady Trinity."

Link seemed surprised as he encountered the monster with more
than two eyes, at first he wasn't sure which ones to look into
so he switched between the sets often while talking. "The Lady
is out taking care of some important business, however you are
free to wait in the foyer or out here with me if you so desire.
She said nothing of how long it would take her to achieve this
task. Might I inquire who you are and what business you must
discuss with Trinity?" Link stood over the small spider crossing
his arms seeming firm yet friendly. "It looks like we've got a
while before she returns can I get you a drink while we wait?"
He said gesturing to the porch.

"Well, I suppose I shall wait out here with you, as you are
somebody to talk to... I'm Muffet, and my pet over there and I
were hired by Lady Trinity to help escort a family heirloom of
hers to a secure location; The time of that event is soon
approaching, and as such, I wanted to get here early, just in
case. I must admit, when I saw you from afar, you looked quite
like a human- I was going to run initially, but I realized that
if you were guarding this place, and therefore on Lady Trinity's
payroll, surely you couldn't be human, as everybody down here
would rather help the king break the barrier by gathering human
SOULs than pay a human to protect their property. Even with this
knowledge, you're quite intimidating with that sword of yours...
But I feel comfortable near you somehow."
Well, at this rate, I was going to be here a while- And as such,
I pulled out a few puzzles from my pockets and began fiddling
with them in my many hands to keep them occupied. A brief glance
behind me bestowed me with the knowledge that Cupcake had gone
to sleep; Excellent. If nobody bothered him, then I wouldn't
have to worry about keeping him in check, and it took a LOT to
bother him. He was quite the deep sleeper. Good, good.
"Um, since I see you trying to figure out which eyes to make
contact with, please try and keep focused on these two- the
biggest ones are the dominant pair. The others are just
glorified peripheral vision. And yes, I would like a drink if
that's at all possible; Thank you for the offer."

"Some of my best friends are human, really where I come from
there's almost no difference between human and elf except
lifespan and the ears. While the edge of my blade can seem quite
intimidating I assure you, only those who would threaten Lady
Trinity or attack me need fear it." Link walked to the kitchen
and started to boil some water. He returned a moment later
opening the door to the foyer gesturing to a seat while offering
a mug of coco. "It's nice to meet another person whose civil.
Down here monsters just attack me out of the blue, listen to me
prattle on, I haven't even asked your name Miss? I'm Link."

"Really? Well, it's nice to know that there are living beings
out there that can get along with both humans AND monsters. It's
a comforting thought. You seem like quite the gentleman, too!
Ahuhuhuhu~!"
I followed into the foyer, sitting down in the seat he offered
me- And here I thought chivalry was dead. He even looked like a
knight from a bygone age... A part of me wanted to ask him if
he'd saved a princess at some point in the past. I decided
against it, though now that my conscious mind had registered the
thought, he DID look like some sort of knightly hero; he
probably HAS saved at least one princess in his life. Maybe even
several. But I put the thought out of my mind for now,
gratefully accepting the cocoa that was also offered to me with
my upper pair of hands. My fangs started to poke out of my
mouth, though only the tips were visible at this point,
thankfully...
"I generally prefer to avoid conflict if I can; I've always been
of the opinion that diplomacy is the best option when employed
correctly. I'm not surprised that you've been needlessly
attacked, though... Not every monster down here is gifted with
the intelligence to think things through before acting on it.
And no, I don't mind your talking- Your voice is quite pleasant
to the ear. I'd love to hear more. As for my name?... Well, I'm
almost sure I said this before, but my name is Madame Muffet;
It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Link."

Link placed one hand across his stomach while leaning forward in
a light bowing gesture as he lowered his head. "Madame Muffet
it's an honor." He said before taking the seat across from the
spider. During his patrol of the house earlier today Link
glanced some important documents Trinity left laying around, he
himself would never glance upon them but should Muffet be able
to distract him her eight eyes could gain some insight to
Trinity's true intensions. "It's rude for a gentleman to talk
about himself, I'd hope my conduct itself will speak volumes.
Now Madame it appears we have some time until the Lady of the
house returns. Would you care to tell me about yourself? I'm
afraid most of my stories revolve around recusing royalty and
battling an evil mask."

For someone of such wealth, it was rather odd to have absolutely
no one in it other than Link and Muffet. Surely by now they
would have bumped into maids running around keeping the house
tidy and clean, a chef chopping and cooking away in the kitchen
or even a butler here or there; but they simply haven't.
If one was to have a good look at the document, they would find
a list of monsters Lady Trinity had hired including: Link,
Muffet, Gaster, Haruno and Grillby. Each of them had the amount
Trinity was willing to pay for them. Further up this page they
would see a list of monsters with different names and their
occupations as body guards, gardeners, chefs, maids, butlers and
he list goes on with heir own salaries written next to them. It
would seem pretty normal except, the last time the Trinity
family had hired anyone of the sort was over forty years ago.
Some other scrolls showed paperwork for various properties in
Waterfall that had once belong to the Trinity family were sold
and even an estimate for the house they were standing in was
here. There was a long list of antiques and exotic household
items within this home either been sold or are ready to be sold.
When the math was done correctly, they would realise that
everything that was once own and was being sold added up to the
total sum of what she was going to pay the monsters she had
hired recently.
The large book beside said papers looked rather lonely. It was
large and square with gold-tipped pages and the words, 'Pain Au
Citron' written on it in running writing.

"Rescuing royalty?... You mean, you really HAVE saved a princess
or something to that effect? I mean, you DID look and act kind
of like somebody who did that, but I didn't know that it was
TRUE- That would be preposterous, wouldn't it?... And yet I
would love to hear about it! It's not often that you get to hear
a story like that down here; The only place those stories exist
is in books, as far as I know. By all means, tell me about your
adventures!"
I was quite hyped, as you would say, to hear about saving a
princess or two. My eyes sparkled with enthusiasm, my ears rapt
with attention- But some of my eyes, the remaining three of the
eight that granted me a full 360-degree field of vision, the
ones hidden beneath my hair, did drift over to the documents on
the table, perusing them briefly; It had amounts of money on it
that I could only dream of. A great deal of this money was going
to the three names on the table that I barely recognized- Who
was this Gaster? Who was Haruno?... The name Grillby rung a few
bells though. Was he the owner of the bar/restaurant in snowdin?
That sounded vaguely correct, at the very least. I also noticed
all of the sales that had taken place, or were about to be
undertaken- Even this house was offered up for sale. But why?...
What could possibly require so much money going to so few
people?...

The desk which the important documents and book rested upon did
look out of place in the room of such expensive and immaculate
taste, for it looked old, splintering and cheaply made. Suddenly
the rickety desk gave way when one of its legs snapped and
spilled its contents all over the floor. Link would probably
recognize this to be the same book that Lady Trinity was reading
in her garden when they spent the night together. From in
between the pages of the book were a number of classified
documents take straight from Alphys' lab.
Said documents revealed to be personal logs Alphys had made on
the vitals and conditions of a Shyren, Moldbygg and Aaron whom
had 'fallen down' some time ago and how King Asgore had brought
them back to Alphys' lab to join the other dying monsters whom
were found. The notes collected here however, did not say much
about the others or Alphys' True Lab; but rather focused on the
Shyren, Aceline Trinity, the younger sister of the Shyren they
had grown to know as 'Lady Trinity'. It detailed how Aceline was
in poor physical condition after a dangerous encounter and how
she was enlisted to join the experiments Alphys had been working
on for the King in attempt to save and prolong monster lives.
There wasn't much information on this, but there were some notes
about experimental Determination and procedures on how different
variables mutated and altered Aceline's Soul in order to provoke
it to continue to exist.
There were numerous pages of journals hand-written by Alphys
noting on how Aceline's condition was doing throughout the time
she was there. She also mentioned how Aceline's older sister,
Elloise Trinity, had written daily letters to check on how she
was doing only to find that she hadn't woken up for some time;
until suddenly, after a few trials were done Aceline - among the
others - just suddenly woke up as if nothing had happened.
However, such a miracle was short-lived, for not long after
Alphys had called the families that's when things started to go
wrong...
There were photogrpahs of the three monsters, and how Aceline, a
once whole Shyren, had started to melt away and merge with the
Moldbygg and Aaron; a huge pile of a mess of ooze just barely
clinging to dear life.
Further into the book there were some notes written from Lady
Trinity herself, saying how she had found a way to help save her
younger sisters. She just had to make a couple of business deals
to make it happen... business deals which did not have anything
to do with the scientists, Muffet or Link...
((I'm going to cut the post here since this is RP and not
fanfiction. Gotta give you guys a chance to post in between the
information walls and bombshells I have fore you. xD ))
