Round 1, fight 1: Melissa Benoist vs. Jennie

Jennie's the favourite fighter of the crowd here at the Meteora
(Kalabaka, Greece). You couldn't even count the number of signs
with her name on them. Jennie flexes her body for the crowd as
they start a "Let's go Jennie!" chant.
Melissa Benoist plays with her long hair and smiles at Jennie
with evil intent. It looks like she knows she can win today.
Jennie doesn't look concerned about anything Melissa Benoist
brings to the table. The BLACKPINK fighter eyes up her American
opponent, "I hope you're ready to have your ass kicked!"
This is the first time these two have meet inside the cage.
Jennie is not preferred by the MMA media to win tonight. She'll
have to do her best to score a win.
Melissa Benoist comes with a 3 fight losing streak.
The referee of the bout is Ariana Grande.

The bell rings and Jennie is already calling Melissa Benoist
out, "Haydens Powergirls fighters are all losers! I'm gonna kick

Melissa Benoist's looking to close the range with Jennie and
tries to grapple...

Wow...can you imagine being between these two fighters? Both

body. Jennie is looking to make her pay!

Melissa has been opened up by Jennie...the Haydens Powergirls
fighter is bleeding heavily. That's an ugly looking wound.
Wow...can you imagine being between these two fighters? Both
girls are really locked into this clinch.
Melissa Benoist pushes away Jennie, she's trying to keep the
fight at striking range.
Jennie doesn't want to break the clinch. She's still grappling
with Melissa Benoist.
Close in action here. Both fighters are tied up in a clinch.
Jennie struggles and launches a few punches towards Melissa
Benoist's head.
Those punches are hitting! Melissa covers her head, but oh God,
that looks like it hurt.
There's a vicious laceration on Melissa's Right eye. It looks as
if it's hurt her. I doubt she can continue.
Wow...can you imagine being between these two fighters? Both
girls are really locked into this clinch.
Melissa Benoist doesn't want to clinch as she ducks under
Jennie's embrace and tries to move away.
Jennie pushes Melissa Benoist forward and doesn't allow her to
break the clinch.
Poorly executed technique from Melissa. Jennie looks to
counter...
Big mistake from Melissa Benoist! Jennie tries to finish her off
with a rear naked choke!
Jennie is unable to lock that move in and Melissa breaks the
lock. Very nice.
We're trading sweat here, folks. These two ladies are locked
together in a clinch.
Melissa Benoist is holding Jennie against the cage. She swings
her left arm over Jennie's head and tries to hit her with
reverse elbow.
Jennie blocks that elbow and moves out of danger.
Jennie tries to get some advantage after her opponent misses a
move...
Jennie chases Melissa Benoist and launches a few perfect
strikes...
Here we go! Melissa steps backwards when those punches connect
with her face.
It's going to be hard for Melissa to look at herself in a mirror
tomorrow. Her Right cheek is swelling up big time.
Jennie has opened up Melissa! It looks like blood is starting to
flow from Melissa's Right cheek.
Melissa Benoist decides to launch some tentative punches...
Nothing from this exchange. Melissa moves back and takes a deep
breath, her breasts rise and fall as sweat runs down her
cleavage.
Melissa Benoist looks for angles as she throws a few jabs that
are countered by Jennie's punches.
Jennie is on the receiving end of a great combo by Melissa.
Oh no! Jennie will not be in the People Magazine Best Looking
list now! Her Right cheek has taken some brutal punishment.
This isn't good for Jennie! The Korean fighter is in pain and
spilling a lot of blood.
Melissa Benoist continues to bleed from that cut. It could be
affecting her vision. Referee Ariana Grande is watching that
bleeding out of the corner of her eye, she may be looking at
stopping this match soon.
Melissa Benoist wants to take the advantage of this fight and
she tries to clinch with Jennie.
"**** off, Melissa", Jennie pushes Melissa back to avoid the
clinch.
Jennie charges at Melissa Benoist throwing flurries left and
right.
Not many punches are hitting, but the ones that do land are huge
shots! Melissa is rocked!
Melissa's Left cheek is bruised after the punishment she's
received! She may just have to kiss that cover shoot goodbye.
Jennie has inflicted a deep cut on Melissa's Left cheek. There's
some blood coming from that wound.
Jennie's found an opening in the defense of Melissa Benoist,
she's launching a big uppercut...
Bingo! Melissa's wobbling! That must have hurt like a ****.
Jennie tries to show her boxing skills with a one-two combo.
Those punches are landing on Melissa's face. She can feel them,
for sure.
Ariana Grande is asking Melissa to defend herself! Ariana Grande
jumps between the fighters and stops the punishment for Melissa.
She really has been totally beaten here tonight.
Oh My! That is a nasty cut on Melissa's Mouth.
It's a win for the Korean fighter, Jennie. At 2:14 Round 1, the
win coming via TKO (Punch).

Melissa Benoist was boring today if you ask me. She did nothing
in her fight. Melissa would have been better off just flashing
her firm **** for the fans. (5 points)
We've seen a nice effort tonight from Jennie. In my opinion she
was thinking of the fans besides the fight itself. She showed us
enough technical skill, as well as enough skin, during the fight
to keep most of the crowd happy. (231 points)
That was a fight that put some of the crowd on their feet,
occasionally. It could've been more exciting though. Jennie and
Melissa have the potential, perhaps they just lack the hunger.
