Guidelines: Becoming a Community Event Manager
UAC's Official Event Managers
(non-administrative members)

________
The most frequent asked question that event managers are asked
has finally gotten an official answer. It's understandable that
many of you would
like to become a Community Event Manager (CEM), but sadly there
are more of you than there are available positions in the team.
To be completely honest, what most of you all are doing,
in attempt to be selected during our next recruitment, is wrong.
________________________________________________________________
________
What not to do:
I thought this was obvious but apparently I was wrong; Do not
asslick us.
"Spamming" us to create events are more annoying than helpful,
well it's actually not helpful at all.
Offer to pay the prize if we host an event.
Ask us if you can help us with an event. There's literally
nothing that you can do unless we ask for assistance.
Never ever say "Bad event" after an event that you didn't like.
Instead, let us know what we could improve in your opinion to
make the event better.
If you SMS a CEM and we reply back, and all of a sudden we don't
reply as fast as usual, don't start to spam us. Like duh.. we do
other things than just being your customer support via SMS.
Tell us several times that you want to be a CEM, it's annoying
and will certainly not increase your chances in any possible
way. If you're CEM material, we'd know that you're interested to
be one without you telling us.
Come up with useless and stupid ideas to suggest for us because
you're tryharding too much to be noticed or want us to think
that you're helping, engaged or motivated.
Things that may help you:
Post constructive and meaningful posts in this ministry board.
Be an active IRC user.
For obvious reasons we have a certain maturity level that must
be reached by all the CEM's.
Contact us with event ideas that you've thought of, and actually
spent time thinking on. What to think of if contacting us with
an event idea:
The entire idea of the event.
Why you believe this is something unique and worth our time
mapping.
Do not be lazy and say "Create race, good idea bro". You're
supposed to do the thinking in this situation.
We do create our own events, so we don't need simple and common
ideas. We basically only like your idea if it provide something
unique.
We do appreciate everyone who join our events, and if we see a
name popping up in events on a very regular basis, we start
notice that player even more, unless you spam "staaart" or
"gooo"......
After you've participated in an event, think of something that
could make the event better and contact us in a nice way and ask
if we're interested in hearing your improvement ideas.
Often, we do spend a lot of time mapping events, and I mean it
can take 5-7 hours mapping some events. We're even forced to
split up the time mapping into different days. So giving us a
compliment after an event, simply saying "This was a fun event"
or "Good job <insert event hoster's name here>" doesn't hurt.

________
An explanation of something you may see occur if you actively
participate in events:
Sometimes if you warp to an event, you may see non-CEM's and
non-staff members being in the dimension with us even before the
event begun, basically during the preparation of an event. Why
you may ask yourself? There are 3 reasons of this:
1. The shortest of them all, we're hosting a survival event. In
a survival event we warp the "predators", the ones that are
meant to kill you in the event, before we warp the "normal"
participants. We do this to prevent anyone of you entering their
vehicle and to keep the event organization clean in general.
2. They could be a friend of us, or perhaps a group member. We
are also humans, just like you are, and we do have friends.
Sometimes they hang out with us while we create events, nothing
wrong or wierd about that.
3. This is the most rare situation, though one of the best. We
don't really know the player, but we like him.
To clarify that: This person has done the things that are listed
above in "Things that help you" as well as has avoided doing the
things that are listed in "What not to do". What this means is
that we feel comfortable having this person in the event
dimension with us before an event starts, and we might find this
player to be actually useful in certain cases.
________________________________________________________________
________
Most important: Motivation & Dedication. That's what we want
from you, even from current CEM's.
Oh and please.. Just because you do the things that's listed
above, as well as avoid doing the bad and annoying things that
are also listed above, it doesn't guarantee you to be accepted
as a Community Event Manager the next time we recruit. Don't
make it obvious that you try really hard, that's where you'll
fail.
