	<strong>Episode 1</strong>

	em>Feride\'s narration at the
	beginning of the episode</em>

	his diary is a school girl\'s
	unfinished past assignment. Today she writes the reasons that
	lead to her heart\'s exile. It was her inability to let go of
	her anger and disappointment. This is her homework so that she
	would never forget. I was 11 or 12 years old at at hat time.
	Our�French teacher�s�ur Alexis gave us a�written assignment. She
	asked us to write our first memories, especially memories that
	have to do with our mothers, father and siblings. It will be a
	good exercise for your memory. Ever since I became haunted by
	the idea. What would I write about? I searched my memory and the
	clearest memory that I have of my mother has to do with apricots
	and sweets. We were living at that time in Beirut. My father a
	naval lieutenant was relocated there.

	y father immediately
	decided to move the funereal to aunt Besime\'s mansion in
	Istanbul. But some fathers have different ways of telling their
	daughters that their mother is dead. My father found his own way
	in other words he didn\'t. Had my father explained to me my
	mother\'s departure and that undoing death is impossible I
	wouldn\'t have filled in the blanks with apricot trees. I
	thought that we had planted my mother in the ground so that all
	the world mothers\' would call me \"my daughter\".�

	"Her
	mother died.\" It\'s that simple and that sharp. What my great
	naval lieutenant father didn\'t manage to do Necmiye and Kamran
	did. They knew what death meant. For a long time after that I
	carried my mother\'s death like a contagious disease as if all
	those that I touched would lose their mothers. How absurd! I am
	just a little girl that misses her mother\'s Helva. I forgot my
	mother\'s face the day she died. Even though I remember falling
	asleep next to her pale face. Who erases those memories from our
	minds and eyes? Who?

	ll the girls were
	competing against one another to win his heart. Certainly there
	was a girl among them that loved him the most and certainty he
	had eliminated the one that loved him the most. Was
