Speaking of duelling:
An Iraqi vice-president has proposed that Saddam Hussein
and George W Bush should fight a duel to settle their
differences.
Taha Yassin Ramadan suggested that United Nations Secretary
General Kofi Annan should referee the duel on neutral territory.
Mr Ramadan, who is not noted for a sense of humour but
occasionally resorts to sarcasm, made the proposal in an
interview with the Associated Press.
Mr Bush's spokesman Ari Fleischer rejected the idea saying,
"there can be no serious response to an irresponsible statement
like that".
[...]
Leader versus leader
"Bush wants to attack the whole [of] Iraq, the army and the
infrastructure," the Iraqi vice-president said.
"The American president should specify a group, and we will
specify a group and choose neutral ground with Kofi Annan as
referee and use one weapon with a president against a president,
a vice-president against a vice-president, and a minister
against a minister in a duel."
Mr Fleischer poured scorn on the proposal saying:
"In the past when Iraq had disputes, it invaded its neighbours.
There were no duels; there were invasions. There was use of
weapons of mass destruction and military. That's how Iraq
settles its disputes."
People who have emotional sensivity are know that saying a bad
things like satire, sarcasm and discriminative to the innocents
are violence too. But if the perpetrator say the bad things
without correct reason to us and we fight them back with more
"violence" like physical and more severe verbal attack, the
people's today ethical standard even so-called the "moderator"
will blame us rather than the perpetrators.
For example, I got satirized without correct reason from a
people. I fight him with physical violence. Then the fault is at
me rather than the perpetrator who firstly initiated violence.
And the worst is, the moderator or the observer even not
consider verbal abuse or attack from the perpetrator as a
violence. Because it just a words according to them. That
assessment also apply to racist verbal abuse too.
As long as the people's behaviour not using physichal violence
or anything that harming people's lives, then it "cannot be
considered as violence" according to them. Even though we feel
offended.

Support Footman!
https://nypost.com/2023/04/10/florida-teacher-busted-for-hosting-student-brawls…
A Florida middle school teacher has been arrested for
hosting student fights and letting her kids brawl in the
classroom, according to reports.
Angel Footman, 23, allegedly allowed kids to sock each other
senseless as she looked on from her desk, sometimes telling kids
not to record the blows or attract attention by screaming and
yelling.
Several sixth-grade girls alerted administrators at Griffin
Middle School in Tallahassee after Footman turned her classroom
into a secret boxing pit.
Staffers were also presented with several videos shot late last
month that showed Footman stationed at her desk while students
hammered each other.
The footage showed her laying down the rules of engagement,
telling participants not to pull hair and to limit their clashes
to 30 seconds each, the outlet reported.
According to court documents obtained by WCTV, students said
they planned their melees to take place in Footmans sanctuary
and that rematches were sometimes encouraged.
https://www.carolinajournal.com/student-suspended-for-using-term-illegal-alien-…
A 16-year-old student at Central Davidson High School in
Lexington, North Carolina was suspended for three days last week
after using the term illegal alien during a vocabulary
assignment in his English class.
...
In addition to the three-day suspension, his record could be
damaged as he aims to secure an athletic scholarship for
college. He is actively involved in school clubs, track, and
cross country.
My favourite part of the story:
According to an email describing the incident, sent to
local officials and shared with Carolina Journal, a young man in
class took offense to his question and reportedly threatened to
fight him, prompting the teacher to call in the assistant
principal.
