AJ Styles Talks Joining NXT, His Dream Opponent, Where His Caree |

Recently on The Taz Show: Bodyslams & Beyond, Taz spoke with |
|
A.J. Styles from New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Ring of Honor. |
|
Styles discussed the possibility of signing with WWE/NXT and |
|
which professional wrestler he would like to work with who he |
|
has never had the opportunity to face thus far in his |
|
professional wrestling career. |
|
In regards to whether NXT is an option, Styles said that he is |
|
very happy in his position now, but he acknowledged that he |
|
hears the chatter of fans wanting him to go to NXT. Styles |
|
indicated that he is interested in making the best business |
|
decision for his family at this point in his career, and if that |
|
means signing with NXT he is open to the idea. |
|
"At this point in my career, I'm going to go do what's best for |
|
my family and I want to do what's best to provide for them. So, |
|
the business that we're in, [if] the business could be better |
|
somewhere else, then that's where I'm going to go. That's what |
|
I'm going to do. So, like I said, it's a business plan. Wherever |
|
the plan takes me, that's where I'll go." |
|
When asked which wrestler he would like to face who he has not |
|
had a chance to compete against yet, Styles said he would like |
|
to face Rey Mysterio, Jr., although making it happen could be |
|
difficult since Mysterio works with AAA in Mexico and Styles is |
|
with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, which is affiliated with rival |
|
promotion, CMLL. |
|
"I'd like to wrestle Rey, Rey Mysterio, before he retires. I |
|
think we could have a pretty cool match and it would be a pretty |
|
big match, the two of us, so I'd probably get that done." Styles |
|
continued, "I would imagine you would have to come off the hip |
|
with some money for Rey, but it would be fun! It depends where |
|
we do it. The problem is he works for AAA and I work for New |
|
Japan and New Japan works for CMLL, or works with CMLL, so |
|
that's the big dilemma. It would have to be an independent |
|
[show] for us to meet." |

Would love to see AJ in NXT for a run but I can not see him |

being in the main event any time soon .. |

Sorry but WWE main shows are all ways sold out lol.. I get your |
|
point when you talk about NXT yes they are smaller to NJPW |
