the quick look
By: alphaomega Date: June 13, 2013, 8:06 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
this is a post that for me will try and show (imo) what most
miss in the bible story
* this is not saying 'others" are right or wrong ; but instead
its bringing out a few points that don't seem to be discussed
john 5
39 You study[a] the Scriptures diligently because you think that
in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures
that testify about me,
* we search the bible
* we seek eternal life
* the bible speaks of Jesus
* the bible is a testimony about Jesus
what about Jewish history ?
yes there is Jewish history within the bible ; but there is also
the word "cow" and the bible story is not about "cow" concerning
its intended message the intended message is "JESUS"
THE BOOKS OF THE BIBLE ARE OUT OF ORDER
IF ( and it is so) this is God's story than shouldn't we look at
it the way he presented it ?
the way God presented it ; was it not in chronological order?
SEE JANE RUN; we look and Jane runs
but if we change it to run; see Jane then we are the ones
running and looking
they may be the same words but the intended message is not the
same
Matthew one
~* whose mother was
In the verses ( 1-7) we meet these four women
each of these women live in a different time period
* Tamar; is from the time period of genesis post flood
* Rahab; is from the time period of journey to the promised
land
* Ruth; is from the time period of time of judges
* Bathsheba; is from the time period of David the king
with this in mind there are two points to be brought out
1- the scriptures speak of Jesus
2- these four women are from different time periods
note; these 4 time period do not cover the entire bible ; so we
must ask
what are the other time periods? I list 11 time periods as I see
them
1- genesis pre-flood
2- genesis post flood
3-journey to the promised land
4- time of judges
5-David ; the king
6- prophets and captivity
7- the gospels
8-book of acts
9 letters of Paul
10 - the Jerusalem ( council) response
11- Revelation
NOTE ; the book of acts to the book of revelation cannot add to
the story of the "birth; life; and death of Jesus ; at best they
can only give commentary to these events which have already
taken place tough they may or may not speak to the "return" of
Jesus
as we look at this story ( the one of the bible which speaks of
Jesus ) we must look at why he came into this world.
John 1
New International Version (NIV)
The Word Became Flesh
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and
the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through
him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has
been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all
mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness
has not overcome[a] it.
6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came
as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through
him all might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came
only as a witness to the light.
9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into
the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made
through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that
which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to
all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he
gave the right to become children of God 13 children born not
of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husbands will,
but born of God.
*to become ; means that before this ---you are not!
that thing that you are not until this --is children of God ; or
said another way not in the family of God
this being "outside" the family of God is THE PROBLEM
THIS HAS BROUGHT US TO THE FIRST THEME ( IMO) OF THE BIBLE STORY
I- THE PROBLEM
(1) GENESIS PRE-FLOOD
AT THE CREATION OF ADAM;
God molded the body of Adam {flesh} from the dust of the earth
and then placed the The Image of God {the soul of Adam} within
that body
and Adam became a living being
later from this body of Adam ( with its image of god inside of
it )
Eve came forth ( see gets her soul {that image of God} through
Adam)
God created them {singular} male and female
for Adam and Eve are one
and are not two separate creations
they are family ; both with each other as well as with God
ORIGINAL SIN
In time the stranger comes along (serpent)
and a stranger is not part of the family
as first Eve and then Adam listen and act upon the words of the
stranger
they leave the family; the family of God
as we next see the scene of nakedness ; we should note
it wasn't nakedness as the issue ; it was nakedness before those
not in the family
for did Adam and Eve hide their nakedness from each other?
original sin is leaving the family of God.
AFTER leaving the family of God what family are the children to
come from?
THE PROBLEM IS mankind is out of the family of God.
the flood comes ( for reasons we wont go into here)
and the story moves into the post-flood world
with mankind out of the family of God
what will it take to provide a way back for mankind ?
II- ISSUES AND LESSONS
(2) GENESIS POST FLOOD
In this story God has broken mankind into seven divisions in
order to set the stage for this story of how Jesus is providing
a way back for mankind into the family of God.
There are 3 sons of Noah and all of post-flood mankind will
descend back to one of these sons.
Jesus will enter this world thru the linage of Shem. AND Shem is
Melchizedek making Jesus of this order of MELCHIZEDEK {Shem}.
This separates or splits off the other two sons of Noah from the
line that leads to Jesus. {see below}
Shem ---------------------1-Japheth
---------------------2-Ham
AS STATED
ABOVE Shem is Melchizedek and as Melchizedek he meets up with
Abraham.
Abraham
( the tenth * {the tithe} from Shem if you count CUSH as seen in
Luke 3 where...
the son
of *** 10 Abraham,
( with the addition seen here of #2 Cainan ( son of ham? is
added in here as adopted by Noah and place below the son of Shem
?)
the son of 9-Terah, the son of 8-Nahor,35 the son of 7-Serug,
the son of6- Reu,the son of5- Peleg, the son of 4-Eber,the son
of 3-Shelah, 36 the son of 2- Cainan,the son of 1-Arphaxad, the
son of Shem,
NOW Abraham has been traveling with his nephew Lot ; but LOT is
not who Jesus will come thru into the world ; like Japheth and
Ham before him ; he too is dropped off form this line . { see
below}
Shem -------------------1- Japheth
-------------------2- Ham
Abraham ---------------3- Lot
Abraham will have 2 sons ; one with Hagar and one with Sarah
the line to Jesus will continue through Sarah's son Isaac
this drops off Hagar's son Ishmael { see below}
Shem ------------------ 1- Japheth
------------------ 2- Ham
Abraham -------------- 3- Lot
Isaac ------------------ 4- Ishmael
Isaac like Abraham will also have two sons
and the story repeats itself
as Jesus will come thru the linage of Jacob
thus; dropping off Esau {see below}
Shem ----------------- 1- Japheth
----------------- 2- Ham
Abraham ------------- 3- Lot
Isaac------------------ 4- Ishmael
Jacob ----------------- 5- Esau
*** 1-2-3-4-5 ; WILL BE SEEN IN THE FEEDING OF THE 5000 AS THE
BREAD ( BARLEY LOAVES)
WHICH IS THE COMMON BREAD OF THE PEOPLE;
THIS BRING US (of coarse) TO THE 2 FISH
UP UNTIL THIS POINT this family line that leads to Jesus has
been collecting promises from God
and they have been passed down generation to generation .
BUT NOW at the death of Jacob ; something has changed
Jacob splits these promises into two groups
all the promises now go to Joseph ( through his two sons ) with
the exception of 2
these 2 are given over to Judah.
these 2 are lawmaking and kingship.
with this division of the family promises into two groups we see
the origin of the two fish
they are thru joseph ; the northern tribes ( kingdom)
and thru Judah; the southern tribes ( kingdom) ----{see below}
Shem-------------------------- 1- Japheth
-------------------------- 2- Ham
Abraham ----------------------3- Lot
Isaac---------------------------4- Ishmael
Jacob --------------------------5- Esau
6- the northern
tribes Joseph
JUDAH * IS LEFT AS #7 AND THE LINE THAT LEADS TO JESUS
BUT we haven't left the
genesis post flood story yet
for this is the time period
of TAMAR
Tamar descends from Esau
whose wife was the daughter of Ishmael
this is the inheritance of Jesus
that Jesus addresses with his BIRTH
this is the order of Melchizedek
it is the story line as to what Jesus as the son of man is doing
in order to provide a way back for mankind into the family of
God
and with Tamar we see it includes those of Ishmael and Esau as
well
AND LIKE BIRTH LEADS TO LIFE
SO THE STORY CONTINUES ........
(3) JOURNEY TO THE PROMISED LAND
AS WE ENDED THE STORY OF GENESIS POST-FLOOD
THE CHILDREN OF JACOB WHERE IN EGYPT
but time has past and a king of Egypt who has not know the story
of Joseph has risen to power
*
EGYPT is a land of upper and lower Egypt where the kings may
rule over the upper or lower and at times they may rule over
both. we have entered a time when a king from lower Egypt has
come to rule both upper and lower Egypt. being from lower Egypt
he does not know the Joseph story.
This is the lifetime of Moses, and God has selected him to bring
the sons of Jacob into the Promised Land. Along the journey
Moses is given the LAW( the ten commandments). Drawing closer to
the Promised Land Moses dies before they go in. In fact the
people will not be allowed to go in ; until a women is added to
their group.
her name is Rahab; and she descends from HAM ( thru Nimrod).
Rahab will marry Salmon, a descendent of Judah and Tamar
the people go into the promised land with HAM being added into
the this line that leads to Jesus
THIS TIME PERIOD IS ABOUT THE LIFE OF JESUS
for it is in his lifetime that the LAW finds its only keeper.

it is very important to see just who got the law and
who came into the promised land
the quick answer "it was the Jews would be totally missing the
intended message here !
for those northern tribes ; that will become to be lead by the
descendants of the sons of Joseph ARE CERTAINLY NOT "JEWS"
IN FACT IT IS THESE TEN NORTHERN TRIBES WHO GAVE THE TERM "JEWS"
TO THE SOUTHERN TRIBES
THESE TWO GROUPS WILL had their origin in the GENESIS POST
FLOOD time period ; and will travel together through the time
periods of journey to the Promised Land {as seen here} as well
as the time of judges and the time period of David; the king---
before becoming separated ( for God's purposes) in the time
period of prophets and captivity.
these two groups; the northern and southern kingdoms will
continue to be seen in the bible ( once we get past ; the time
period of David ; the king ) as---.....
* two sisters
* two sons
* widows and orphans
* the prodigal son and older brother
* the bride of Christ
* those who get the talents
* this flock and the other flock
so it seems good to me ; in making sure the reader sees right
now; just who they are and to what they go thru.
