THE RIDDLE OF SAMSON
By: alphaomega Date: March 18, 2013, 2:54 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Judges 14
New Revised Standard Version (NRSV
5 Then Samson went down with his father and mother to Timnah.
When he came to the vineyards of Timnah, suddenly a young lion
roared at him. 6 The spirit of the Lord rushed on him, and he
tore the lion apart barehanded as one might tear apart a kid.
But he did not tell his father or his mother what he had done. 7
Then he went down and talked with the woman, and she pleased
Samson. 8 After a while he returned to marry her, and he turned
aside to see the carcass of the lion, and there was a swarm of
bees in the body of the lion, and honey. 9 He scraped it out
into his hands, and went on, eating as he went. When he came to
his father and mother, he gave some to them, and they ate it.
But he did not tell them that he had taken the honey from the
carcass of the lion.
FROM A FALLEN LION COMES HONEY
* WHY IS THIS STORY HERE ?
* IS THIS EVENT INSPIRED BY GOD ?
* DOES THIS STORY TELL US SOMETHING DEEPER?

WHAT IS THIS?
Baruch the friend and scribe of Jeremiah who are at the time of
the captivity of (Judah) the southern kingdom.
The northern kingdom ( Israel) has gone into captivity much
ealier and have no contact ( being in captivity) with this
southern kingdom.
How are they to hear this message?
Baruch 4
New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
She is the book of the commandments of God,
the law that endures forever.
All who hold her fast will live,
and those who forsake her will die.
2 Turn, O Jacob, and take her;
walk toward the shining of her light.
3 Do not give your glory to another,
or your advantages to an alien people.
4 Happy are we, O Israel,
for we know what is pleasing to God.
Encouragement for Israel
5 Take courage, my people,
who perpetuate Israels name!
6 It was not for destruction
that you were sold to the nations,
but you were handed over to your enemies
because you angered God.
7 For you provoked the one who made you
by sacrificing to demons and not to God.
8 You forgot the everlasting God, who brought you up,
and you grieved Jerusalem, who reared you.
9 For she saw the wrath that came upon you from God,
and she said:
Listen, you neighbors of Zion,
God has brought great sorrow upon me;
10 for I have seen the exile of my sons and daughters,
which the Everlasting brought upon them.
11 With joy I nurtured them,
but I sent them away with weeping and sorrow.
12 Let no one rejoice over me, a widow
and bereaved of many;
I was left desolate because of the sins of my children,
because they turned away from the law of God.
13 They had no regard for his statutes;
they did not walk in the ways of Gods commandments,
or tread the paths his righteousness showed them.
14 Let the neighbors of Zion come;
remember the capture of my sons and daughters,
which the Everlasting brought upon them.
15 For he brought a distant nation against them,
a nation ruthless and of a strange language,
which had no respect for the aged
and no pity for a child.
16 They led away the widows beloved sons,
and bereaved the lonely woman of her daughters.
17 But I, how can I help you?
18 For he who brought these calamities upon you
will deliver you from the hand of your enemies.
19 Go, my children, go;
for I have been left desolate.
20 I have taken off the robe of peace
and put on sackcloth for my supplication;
I will cry to the Everlasting all my days.
21 Take courage, my children, cry to God,
and he will deliver you from the power and hand of the
enemy.
22 For I have put my hope in the Everlasting to save you,
and joy has come to me from the Holy One,
because of the mercy that will soon come to you
from your everlasting savior.[a]
23 For I sent you out with sorrow and weeping,
but God will give you back to me with joy and gladness
forever.
24 For as the neighbors of Zion have now seen your capture,
so they soon will see your salvation by God,
which will come to you with great glory
and with the splendor of the Everlasting.
25 My children, endure with patience the wrath that has come
upon you from God.
Your enemy has overtaken you,
but you will soon see their destruction
and will tread upon their necks.
26 My pampered children have traveled rough roads;
they were taken away like a flock carried off by the enemy.
27 Take courage, my children, and cry to God,
for you will be remembered by the one who brought this upon
you.
28 For just as you were disposed to go astray from God,
return with tenfold zeal to seek him.
29 For the one who brought these calamities upon you
will bring you everlasting joy with your salvation.

THIS BARUCH ; has a message from the lord.........
Jeremiah 45
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
Message to Baruch
This is the message which Jeremiah the prophet spoke to
(A)Baruch the son of Neriah, when he had (B)written down these
words in a book [a]at Jeremiahs dictation, in the (C)fourth
year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, saying: 2
Thus says the Lord the God of Israel to you, O Baruch: 3 You
said, Ah, woe is me! For the Lord has added sorrow to my pain;
I am (D)weary with my groaning and have found no rest. 4 Thus
you are to say to him, Thus says the Lord, Behold, (E)what I
have built I am about to tear down, and what I have planted I am
about to uproot, that is, the whole land. 5 But you, are you
(F)seeking great things for yourself? Do not seek them; for
behold, I am going to (G)bring disaster on all flesh, declares
the Lord, but I will (H)give your life to you as booty in all
the places where you may go.
So just where does he go?

BEFORE THIS CHAPTER 45 ;
we have said that JEREMIAH and BARUCH where at the time of the
captivity of the southern kingdom as seen below .....
Jeremiah 39
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
Jerusalem Captured
39 [a]Now when Jerusalem was captured [b](A)in the ninth year of
Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar king
of Babylon and all his army came to Jerusalem and laid siege to
it; 2 in the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, in
the ninth day of the month, the city wall was (B)breached. 3
Then all the (C)officials of the king of Babylon came in and sat
down at the (D)Middle Gate: Nergal-sar-ezer, Samgar-nebu,
Sar-sekim the [c]Rab-saris, Nergal-sar-ezer the [d]Rab-mag, and
all the rest of the officials of the king of Babylon. 4 When
Zedekiah the king of Judah and all the men of war saw them, they
(E)fled and went out of the city at night by way of the kings
garden through the gate (F)between the two walls; and he went
out toward the [e]Arabah. 5 But the army of the (G)Chaldeans
pursued them and overtook Zedekiah in the (H)plains of Jericho;
and they seized him and brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar king of
Babylon at (I)Riblah in the land of Hamath, and he passed
sentence on him. 6 Then the (J)king of Babylon slew the sons of
Zedekiah (K)before his eyes at Riblah; the king of Babylon also
slew all the (L)nobles of Judah. 7 He then (M)blinded Zedekiahs
eyes and bound him in (N)fetters of bronze to bring him to
(O)Babylon. 8 The Chaldeans also (P)burned with fire the kings
palace and the houses of the people, and they (Q)broke down the
walls of Jerusalem. 9 As for the rest of the people who were
left in the city, the [f](R)deserters who had gone over to him
and (S)the rest of the people who remained, (T)Nebuzaradan the
(U)captain of the bodyguard carried them into exile in Babylon.
10 But some of the (V)poorest people who had nothing,
(W)Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguard left behind in the
land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields [g]at that
time.
But where is Jeremiah and Baruch?

Jeremiah Spared
11 Now Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon gave orders about
(X)Jeremiah through Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguard,
saying, 12 Take him and [h]look after him, and (Y)do nothing
harmful to him, but rather deal with him just as he tells you.
13 So Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguard sent word, along
with Nebushazban the Rab-saris, and Nergal-sar-ezer the
[j]Rab-mag, and all the leading officers of the king of Babylon;
14 they even sent and (Z)took Jeremiah out of the court of the
guardhouse and entrusted him to (AA)Gedaliah, the son of
(AB)Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, to take him home. So he stayed
among the people.
15 Now the word of the Lord had come to Jeremiah while he was
(AC)confined in the court of the guardhouse, saying, 16 Go and
speak to (AD)Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, saying, Thus says the
Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Behold, I am about to bring
My words on this city (AE)for disaster and not for
[k]prosperity; and they will (AF)take place before you on that
day. 17 But I will (AG)deliver you on that day, declares the
Lord, and you will not be given into the hand of the men whom
you dread. 18 For I will certainly rescue you, and you will not
fall by the sword;
but you will have your own (AH)life as booty, because you have
(AI)trusted in Me, declares the Lord.
[i]SO WE SEE JEREMIAH AND BARUCH DO NOT GO INTO CAPTIVITY ;
BUT IS THERE MORE TO THIS STORY?

Jeremiah 40
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
Jeremiah Remains in Judah
40 The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord after
(A)Nebuzaradan captain of the bodyguard had released him from
(B)Ramah, when he had taken him bound in (C)chains among all the
exiles of Jerusalem and Judah who were being exiled to Babylon.
2 Now the captain of the bodyguard had taken Jeremiah and said
to him, The (D)Lord your God promised this calamity against
this place; 3 and the Lord has brought it on and done just as He
promised. Because you people (E)sinned against the Lord and did
not listen to His voice, therefore this thing has happened to
you. 4 But now, behold, I am (F)freeing you today from the
chains which are on your hands. If [a]you would prefer to come
with me to Babylon, come along, and I will [b]look after you;
but if [c]you would prefer not to come with me to Babylon,
[d]never mind. Look, the (G)whole land is before you; go
wherever it seems good and right for you to go. 5 As
[e]Jeremiah was still not going back, [f]he said, Go on back
then to (H)Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom
the king of Babylon has (I)appointed over the cities of Judah,
and stay with him among the people; or else go anywhere it seems
right for you to go. So the captain of the bodyguard gave him a
(J)ration and a (K)gift and let him go.
6 Then Jeremiah went to (L)Mizpah to (M)Gedaliah the son of
Ahikam and stayed with him among(10 But some of the (V)poorest
people who had nothing, (W)Nebuzaradan the captain of the
bodyguard left behind in the land of Judah, and gave them

in the land.

Jeremiah 41:10
Then Ishmael took captive all the remnant of the people who were
in Mizpah, the kings daughters and all the people who were
left in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguard
had put under the charge of Gedaliah the son of Ahikam; thus
Ishmael the son of Nethaniah took them captive and proceeded to
cross over to the sons of Ammon.
Jeremiah 43:5-7
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
5 But Johanan the son of Kareah and all the [a]commanders of the
forces took the (A)entire remnant of Judah who had returned from
all the nations to which they had been driven away, in order to
reside in the land of Judah 6 the men, the women, the children,
the (B)kings daughters and (C)every person that Nebuzaradan
the captain of the bodyguard had left with Gedaliah the son of
Ahikam [c]and grandson of Shaphan, together with (D)Jeremiah the
prophet and Baruch the son of Neriah 7 and they entered the
land of Egypt (for they did not obey the voice of the Lord) and
went in as far as (E)Tahpanhes.
AND HERE WE ARE AGAIN ; BACK AT
Jeremiah 45
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
Message to Baruch
45 This is the message which Jeremiah the prophet spoke to
(A)Baruch the son of Neriah, when he had (B)written down these
words in a book [a]at Jeremiahs dictation, in the (C)fourth
year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, saying: 2
Thus says the Lord the God of Israel to you, O Baruch: 3 You
said, Ah, woe is me! For the Lord has added sorrow to my pain;
WHERE DO JEREMIAH AND BARUCH GO and with whom?
13 This is the [m]message which the Lord spoke to Jeremiah the
prophet about the (AD)coming of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon
to (AE)smite the land of Egypt:
14 Declare in Egypt and proclaim in (AF)Migdol,
Proclaim also in Memphis and (AG)Tahpanhes;
Say, Take your stand and get yourself ready,
For the (AH)sword has devoured those around you.
15 Why have your (AI)mighty ones become prostrate?
They do not stand because the Lord has (AJ)thrust them down.
16 They have repeatedly (AK)stumbled;
Indeed, they have fallen one against another.
Then they said, Get up! And (AL)let us go back
To our own people and our native land
Away from the [n](AM)sword of the oppressor.
17 [o]They cried there, Pharaoh king of Egypt is but (AN)a big
noise;
He has let the appointed time pass by!
18 As I live, declares the (AO)King
Whose name is the Lord of hosts,
Surely one shall come who looms up like (AP)Tabor among the
mountains,
Or like (AQ)Carmel by the sea.
19 Make your baggage ready for (AR)exile,
O (AS)daughter dwelling in Egypt,
For (AT)Memphis will become a desolation;
It will even be burned down and [p]bereft of inhabitants.
20 Egypt is a pretty (AU)heifer,
But a [q]horsefly is coming (AV)from the northit is coming!
21 Also her (AW)mercenaries in her midst
Are like [r]fattened (AX)calves,
For even they too have turned back and have fled away together;
They did not stand their ground.
For the day of their calamity has come upon them,
The time of their (AY)punishment.
WHERE DO JEREMIAH AND BARUCH GO and with whom?
25 The Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, says, Behold, I am
going to punish Amon of (BC)Thebes, and (BD)Pharaoh, and Egypt
along with her (BE)gods and her kings, even Pharaoh and those
who (BF)trust in him. 26 I shall give them over to the [v]power
of those who are (BG)seeking their lives, even into the hand of
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and into the hand of his
[w]officers. (BH)Afterwards, however, it will be inhabited as in
the days of old, declares the Lord.
27 But as for you, O Jacob My servant, (BI)do not fear,
Nor be dismayed, O Israel!
For, see, I am going to (BJ)save you from afar,
And your descendants from the land of their captivity;
And Jacob will return and be (BK)undisturbed
And secure, with no one making him tremble.
28 O Jacob My servant, do not fear, declares the Lord,
For (BL)I am with you.
For I will make a full end of all the nations
Where I have driven you,
Yet I will (BM)not make a full end of you;
But I will (BN)correct you properly
And by no means leave you unpunished.
please note; this Israel is the northern tribes who are not
here.
AND THEY ARE NOT FREE TO CHOOSE IN THE TIME OF THE CAPTIVITY OF
THE SOUTHERN KINGDOMS CAPTIVITY BEING SPOKEN OF HERE
they have been in their own captivity for some time now
JEREMIAH SPEAK OF THE FURTURE OF THE LANDS OF CAPTIVITY
{BABYLON}
Babylon Judged for Sins against Israel
51 Thus says the Lord:
Behold, I am going to arouse against Babylon
And against the inhabitants of [a]Leb-kamai
[b]The (A)spirit of a destroyer.
2 I will dispatch [c]foreigners to Babylon that they may
(B)winnow her
And may devastate her land;
For on every side they will be opposed to her
In the day of her calamity.
3 [d]Let not [e]him who [f](C)bends his bow [g]bend it,
[h]Nor let him rise up in his (D)scale-armor;
So do not spare her young men;
Devote all her army to destruction.
4 They will fall down slain in the land of the Chaldeans,
And (E)pierced through in their streets.
5 For (F)neither Israel nor Judah has been [j]forsaken
By his God, the Lord of hosts,
Although their land is (G)full of guilt
[k]Before the Holy One of Israel.
6 (H)Flee from the midst of Babylon,
And each of you save his life!
Do not be [l](I)destroyed in her [m]punishment,
For this is the (J)Lords time of vengeance;
He is going to (K)render recompense to her.
7 Babylon has been a golden (L)cup in the hand of the Lord,
Intoxicating all the earth.
The (M)nations have drunk of her wine;
Therefore the nations are (N)going mad.
8 Suddenly (O)Babylon has fallen and been broken;
(P)Wail over her!
(Q)Bring [n]balm for her pain;
Perhaps she may be healed.
9 We applied healing to Babylon, but she was not healed;
Forsake her and (R)let us each go to his own country,
For her judgment has (S)reached to heaven
And [o]towers up to the very skies.
[i]NOTE ; the separation of the two
ISRAEL ; the northern kindom
JUDAH; the southern kingdom
two distint groups ; two different paths in the plans of God
FROM A FALLEN LION COMES HONEY
the fallen lion is the king of Judah; and the honey is the
KING'S DAUGHTERS
EVEN THE POOR THAT BABYLON LEFT IS JERUSALEM have flled for the
protection of Egypt ; against the warning from GOD.
Babylon comes down and takes them away
but what is the postion taken by Babylon concerning JEREMIAH ?
[b]Look, the (G)whole land is before you; go wherever it seems
good and right for you to go
AND JEREMIAH, BARUCH and the honey that is the daughters of the
king go there way ;
and not into captivity
our story ends here { the riddle of samson }
but for those who need to know more ; i leave you with this
excerpt
Some Scottish legends surrounding the Stone of Scone,
traditionally used for coronations of Scottish kings in the High
Middle Ages, have identified this stone with the Stone of Jacob.
Supposedly the Stone of Jacob was brought to Ireland by the
prophet Jeremiah(by Tea Telphia; the daughter of the fallen
king) and from thence to Scotland.
AND IN MY OPINION ; the only three girls seen in the story of
don quixote are not girls at all
but the three stops of this stone ( ireland-scotland-england)
but again ;
thats another story
