There is (A) sin that leads to death
By: alphaomega Date: March 6, 2013, 3:20 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
1 John 5
English Standard Version (ESV)
16 If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to
death, he shall ask, and (Z)God[a] will give him lifeto those
who commit sins that do not lead to death. (AA)There is sin that
leads to death; (AB)I do not say that one should pray for that.
17 (AC)All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin that does not
lead to death.
BETTER QUESTIONS
SELAH
a term of uncertain meaning found in the Hebrew text of the
Psalms and Habakkuk carried over untranslated into some English
versions
BUT BETTER SAID -to ponder ; ( read and concider} think upon
and I would say ..... work the problem !
so in the verse above ; let us ponder
* read and concider; think ; work the problem ; and ask better
questions
?--- John is speaking to who ? ( believers? ; non beleievers?;
everyone?)
?---there is sin that doesn't lead to death? (explain?)
? --- there is a sin that leads to death ( one? many? for who is
there only one?)
?--- what is the difference between these 2 types of sin(s) ?
THOUGHTS ? ---COMMENTS?----- MORE QUESTIONS?
Let us work the problem

Thank you alphaomega for your topic, which beings to mind the
following.
There is only one un pardonable sin, and that is calling the
Holy Spirit a liar when He convicts you of your sinful nature,
and your desperate need for salvation.
How did you become a believer in the first place?. Well you
were convicted of your sin, and your need to be saved, and who
do you think did that?, read,
Jhn 16:8 "And when He has come, He will convict the world of
sin, and of righteousness, and of judgement:
Jhn 16:9 "of sin, because they do not believe in Me;
Well did you accept His judgement or call Him a liar. Only those
who refuse the Holy Spirits conviction, and call Him a liar,
which is, "Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit", will remain
unsaved, and un forgiven.

TO YOU ; ( your opinion)
is JOHN speaking of the unpardonable sin here ?
Or is he speaking of some other sin(s) here ?
IF (your opinion) is the second; what are those sins?
TO WHICH THE RESPONCE WAS GIVEN
I already explained what the term pardonable meant (i.e.
pardonable even without the mystery of metanoia). Mortal sins,
however require the mystery of metanoia (confession).
What are those sins? As CC stated, the list that our Lord gave
is a good start. St. Paul gets a little more specfic just in
case we did not get it the first time:
1 Corinthians 6:
9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the
kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually
immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor
sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor
revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11
And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were
sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus
and by the Spirit of our God.
"unto death" indicates the second death--eternal existence
without the Life of the Kingdom.
So we also have Galatians 5:
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery,
fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery,
hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish
ambitions, schisms, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness,
drug abuse, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just
as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such
things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Is pretty clear cut. If you practice such things, you will not
inherit the Kingdom of God and be outside of its Life. Such sins
are unto death (existence without life).
SO COMMENTS ON THIS IDEA????
ps---the topic was " Mortal Sin and Venial Sin"

Gee, was that warning for me, Mr. Patrick?
I'm sorry I "scolded" you for mention of denominations "over
there", but . . .
I just see little point to denominational arguments. Everyone,
everywhere thinks they're "right."
I think everyone is wrong.
God is right.
The "truth" is Jesus.
Me?
I need some peace.
Just give me Jesus.
Let me stick my toe in the waters, but drink deeply of Christ.
I'm way too tired for debate.
(And! She's in a bit of a snit, today, she warns. ;) )
But, I love ya, Patrick. You always make me laugh.

Perhaps there is a clue in the last verses of
1 John 5?
1 John 5:19-21
King James Version (KJV)
19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in
wickedness.
20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an
understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in
him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true
God, and eternal life.
21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
Amen.
Raina.
Amen: Yes indeed, in fact we were in Him before the foundation
of the world,
Eph 1:4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the
world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love
Bless you my sister in the Lord.
Edwin.

OK; SO AS I SEE THE PROBLEM BOTH HERE AND IN MANY OTHER CASES
what makes seeing what the bible says harder than it has to be
is ...............
cleaning off that dirt that has been placed upon the candy
this conversation was ataken from the topic Mortal Sin and
Venial Sin
which in itself is not scriptual but is an opinion of the
scriptues as to their meaningings and then carried forwards
* their is nothing wrong with the verse
* everyone is untitled to give their opinion on the scriptures
* but whatever the opinion is; the building it forward is not
scriptual
------------------------ though it may or may not be right! or
be partially right
here we see this in the topic of mortal and venial sin
this is not scripture ;
this is not opinion on the scripture
this is building upon the opinion of a scripture
or the dirt ( the building on of) placed upon the candy ( the
truth of the verse)
it gets worse ......
when asked what these sins are .......
we get the responce
IV. THE GRAVITY OF SIN: MORTAL AND VENIAL SIN
1854 Sins are rightly evaluated according to their gravity. The
distinction between mortal and venial sin, already evident in
Scripture,129 became part of the tradition of the Church. It is
corroborated by human experience.
ok ; what is this
scripture ? opinion of scripture ?
no ; this is building on to the scripture AS IF this which is
being added on is in itself scripture
AND IT IS NOT !!!
SEEMS PETTY?
augh nnot so ; for this is offical doctrine
but let us let them play it out further
when asked again (ok--what sins are you speaking of )
those which you are saying are mortal sins ---- those which you
say lead to death
Such sins
are unto death (existence without life).
ok; let us play this out again to see where we are
scripture used
1 Corinthians 6:
9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the
kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually
immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor
sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor
revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
opinion stated
the above are a list of mortal sins which lead to death and loss
of the kingdom of God
the (dirt) built upon opinion ; said as if it is scriptual
this can only be forgiven if confessed to a priest
------------talk about self serving ; dirt and definiately not
part of the candy ( the truth of the scripture )
looking back at the verse
this is what they are telling you john said
1 John 5
English Standard Version (ESV)
16 If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to
death,
* not sexual immoral
* not idolaers
* not adulterers
* not homosexuals
* not sodomites
* not theives
* not the covetous
* not the drunkard
* not the revilers
* not the extortioniers
* and the added in "drug users"
DO NOT PRAY FOR THESE
he shall ask, and (Z)God[a] will give him lifeto those who
commit sins that do not lead to death.
(AA)There is sin that leads to death; (AB)I do not say that one
should pray for that.
SEE THE LIST ABOVE
17 (AC)All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin that does not
lead to death.
NOW; do you agree with the ('lol") offical church position?
respond please
after the responces i will move on to explaining the verse
