The person interviewed was from Orlando, which is in Orange
County, a county which voted overwhelmingly for the Democrats
I think the people who want to raise their children that way are
being stupid.
'He' from Orlando said under questioning that his was a three
fold family. Does that mean there are two males, and one female,
or two females and one male in that family? He also said, he was
LGBTQ. He is really as the interviewer pointed out influencing
and teaching his two year old, or four year old to accept his
views. At two how can a child understand this nonsensical view
of gender. What happens when they grow up and want to change
their gender to what it was when they were born. I expect some
will try surgery and then suffer later on, as many have done,
some attempting suicide. I think that the Governor of Florida
has forbidden gender changing surgery in a recent bill, so the
kids will have to leave the state to do the surgery.
This genderless is almost a kind of religious belief, and when
that happens after giving up belief in God, you will believe in
anything.
This genderless theory is based on wishful thinking, that you
can be anything you want to be, you decide what people are going
to call you, what pronoun they will use, or they will be
punished by law. That is very selfish of them.

I think it is a nonsense. Sam Smith (a pop singer here in the
UK) says he is non binary and wants to be called "they/them".
As I saw someone else put it very eloquently just look between
your legs for a clue if you are not sure.

Non binary is crazy, imo. ::)

Crazy indeed. It reminds me of that ancient saying:
"Whom the gods would destroy, they first send mad" (Latin:
"Quem deus vult perdere prius dementat.")

Well, typical London thing whereby I meet so many different
people on my travels (which is why I love it here so much), but
I actually happen to know some trans people. I say people as
some identify as women and some as men. I get on fine with them,
theyre not insane, have no plans to bring down society, just
want to live their lives.

It's up to individuals what they call themselves. If a man
wants to identify as a woman, wear a dress and call himself,
"Sharon", I will call her, "Sharon", and refer to Sharon as
'her'. It's not my business. However it doesn't stop Sharon
being biologically a man.

I do agree with you, Lyn. Sex and gender are different concepts.
However, even biologically things are not always one or tother.
Some people are intersex..

Yes but that is a different matter altogether and isn't a
choice. Being trans is. Intersex is also relatively rare:
1.7% of the population is estimated as being intersex and 0.5%
have clinically identifiable sexual or reproductive variations
(I googled). *I saw an interesting documentary about people who
were intersex some time ago, I can't remember what it was on.
Will try and find it. One episode of 'Call the Midwife' dealt
with a girl who had testes instead of ovaries in her abdomen.
She had had no idea, just went to the doctor because she was
getting married and had never menstruated.
Transvestites and transsexuals don't bother me at all, people
are people however they dress or what they call themselves. I
have known a couple from years ago when I used to be out and
about in central London, it's not a new thing by any means but
we hear more about it now. Ibiza town is a revelation.
There are of course real concerns about predatory men dressed as
women in women-only spaces which I understand perfectly but
again that could and should be addressed by law and does not
apply to most trans people who just want to live their lives as
best they can.
*You tube: Intersexion. I don't know if it is the same doc I
saw, might watch it later.

I don't like the 'they/them' when referring to children. People
(apart from very rare intersex people mentioned in previous
post, which is not always obvious anyway), are either boy or
girl, he or she. When people refer to a child as 'they' or
'them' it sounds as though they are talking about several
children, not just one. Some do it on Mumsnet.
