| Over the past two months we have lost 3 fish in our tank. We | |
| have lost all three in the same way. Before I start let me fill | |
| you guys in with my tank parameters. | |
| 13 gallon Wide Screen Aqueon tank (This is the pre-packaged | |
| starter kit) | |
| The Ammonia, nitrate, and nitrite are "Optimum" | |
| The tank has been cycled for 5 months we had this problem in the | |
| past 2 months | |
| There are currently two black mollies, a mickey mouse platy, two | |
| red platies and a SwordTail (The one that is currently dying) | |
| (I know there are too many fish in there. They are all small | |
| currently and will be moved to a bigger tank in a year or so) | |
| We feed them the Aqueon brand flakes | |
| Currently, the SwordTail is having trouble swimming, is | |
| lethargic (Sometimes, other times it acts like the attached | |
| video) it doesn't eat, and has a "bent spine" (Also shown in | |
| video) | |
| As mentioned before, these symptoms have shown in the previous | |
| fish that died. They start with the "broken" spine and swim up | |
| and down. They bloat around the dorsal area and then are | |
| lethargic. They usually die within the week after these symptoms | |
| show. | |
| I really don't want the rest of the tank to die from this. What | |
| can I do? | |

| In the shape he's in now.. not much you can do really. | |
| He needs to be in his own tank, which helps keep the rest of | |
| your fish from getting whatever he has. | |
| My guess is that he's suffering from Neon Tetra Disease, or even | |
| worse Fish Tuberculous. Both these diseases can cause in later | |
| stages, a curved spine. | |
| Best of luck to you and your fish! | |
