An Actual "Set-Up" Thread...
By: plindsey88 Date: October 17, 2014, 9:57 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
It's currently 10:49 PM on a Friday night in Richmond, VA... I
was just thrown out of Home Depot after standing in the plumbing
aisle for 30 minutes after they closed selecting PVC fittings to
plumb a 65-gallon sump and FX6 to the overflows of a 180-gallon
acrylic tank that currently sits atop a custom stand constructed
by none other than John Hudson. I should note that the stand is
constructed almost entirely of salvaged 100+ year old doors from
old Virginia plantation homes.
The mission: To have this thing up and running before the wife
wakes up.
The mood music: The three or four Tank Talk podcasts that I
have been trying to find the time to catch up on.
Wish me luck.

I don't think I've ever seen any pictures of the stand John did
for you. I know there was talk that it might be included on the
KGWoodworking page, but would really love to see some photos.
Before the wife wakes up? And it's already 11 PM.. oh my - you
do need luck.

I got to see your stand in Johns shop while it was under
construction, I was picking up some mbunas. Looked nice. Stopped
in today and picked up 5 more mbunas and on the way back to
Fredericksburg I had to stop and fill up the car with gas.
Walmart and Sheetz have a gas war going on, 2.61 for regular :)

Wow, that is beautiful!
And you were able to complete ALL the plumbing BEFORE the wife
woke up?
