| Buttons not staying depressed in layout mode of beta 23 | |
| By: justice Date: August 23, 2015, 2:02 pm | |
| --------------------------------------------------------- | |
| There is a bug in beta 23 that doesn't allow the down state to | |
| stay depressed while the button is still active. This results in | |
| a number or repeated button presses (typically a double press) | |
| and inconsistent selection behavior in certain instances. This | |
| bug has been corrected in beta 24 an on by allowing for | |
| deselecting "simultaneous pen and touch" in the settings of | |
| layout. | |
| We have made simultaneous pen and touch a setting that can be | |
| toggled on and off in all future beta's to allow the choice of | |
| dual mode or standard mode. | |
| NOTE* this means that the setting must be turned "on" in artist | |
| pad settings in order to activate that feature. | |

| Hi Justice, | |
| The buttons are pretty buggy to me or I'm not using it right. | |
| Right now when I press certain buttons, it stays depressed when | |
| my finger is off it. | |
| I want to be able to hold it down if I wanted to stay depressed. | |
| It works sometimes, and sometimes it don't work. | |
| I'm testing this mainly on Zbrush. | |
| One of the most important key for me is the Alt key, its the | |
| main way to navigate and zoom and when I press alt, it stays | |
| stuck there and I can't get use to it. Anyway to turn that off? | |

| Yep I downloaded beta 44. | |
| By staying on, | |
| I meant that when my finger is on and holding the button, it | |
| releases while I'm still hold pressing it. | |

| What I noticed... | |
| If you select CTRL, ALT, SHIFT in the scroll down menu, they | |
| become click buttons. You can't press hold on them. | |
| When you click the boxes for CTRL, ALT, SHIFT in the click | |
| selection, they become hold buttons. When you press on it, it | |
| stays held even when you let go of your finger. | |
| What I want instead is to be able to control the hold by just | |
| holding down my finger, then releasing my finger to release the | |
| button just like you would on a keyboard. | |

| this would be a cool feature. | |
| i just leave the ctrl, alt, shift toggled...i do find it a | |
| little frustrating when i forget to deselect the buttons when im | |
| in the zone desiging. | |
| using on designated hot keys, not on a standard keyboard, is new | |
| to me. but much better than having to deal with they onscreen | |
| keyboard taking more than a third of the screen. | |

| Hi Justice, | |
| as we already discussed by email, I have the exact same problems | |
| as AndyWear described. | |
| What we want, it's just to get the ctrl, alt, shift keys to behave | |
| like they would do in a physical keyboard. | |
| Instead currently these keys are buggy, don't register properly | |
| and it is very difficult to work with them. | |
| Also, I've noticed that basically ALL keys don't stay pressed if | |
| you click the pen on the screen. | |
| Example: with a standard physical keyboard, the "space" key in | |
| zbrush must be pressed and hold to open a popup window. If the | |
| space key is then released, the popup disappears. | |
| Now, with TabletPro instead, if I press and hold the space key | |
| in zbrush this popup window appears as expected, but as soon as | |
| I click a parameter in this window with my pen, the space key | |
| gets released even if I am still holding my finger on it, and | |
| the popup disappears. | |
| I believe this is common to every key in TP. | |
| Thanks for listening. | |

| Hi Mario, | |
| Would you give something a try for me. I recently had another | |
| user point out something to me. If you search "pen settings" in | |
| the search bar (cortana) and switch the setting from left to | |
| right (or vise versa) this can have a really positive impact on | |
| the consistency of some of these issues. | |
| For the alt key conundrum, we are actively working on that. I | |
| agree it isn't work as desired and we think it should be fixed | |
| as well. Thanks Mario, I love when people write in. Don't | |
| hesitate to put more out there, it is useful to us and | |
| appreciated! | |

| Hi Justice, | |
| Thank you for your suggestion, but this isn't making the | |
| experience any better for me. | |
| Right to Left doesn't solve the issue. | |
| Now it even looks like it's impossible to press two or more | |
| modifier keys at the same time: sometimes they do, most of the | |
| time not. | |
| And yet, every key gets released as soon as the pen touches the | |
| screen. | |
| One question: are you trying your application with a surface pro | |
| 4, with the "Disable ctrl, alt, shift toggle" option checked? | |
| Because it sounds strange to me, that after all this feedback, | |
| you suggest a fix that doesn't work. | |
| I want to like this app, but so far has been of no use to me, | |
| and its getting frustrating. | |
| Apologies if this sounds too harsh: I understand it's still in | |
| beta. | |
| Thank you, | |
| M. | |

| Hi Mario, | |
| No worries on coming across strong, I would be frustrated in | |
| your position as well. I have an i7 Surface Book and test both | |
| with the screen attached and detached (detached mode is 99.9% | |
| similar to the Surface Pro 4) I also have toggle disabled. | |
| Currently my system is firing on all cylinders. We also have | |
| many Surface Pro 4 users who are experiencing the same things. | |
| That has very little to do with your personal situation except | |
| to say that I believe whatever is wrong can be figured out. If | |
| you don't mind can we switch to looking into this via email and | |
| then post our results here? I check the forum once for every 20 | |
| times I check my email. Justice(a)tabletpro.net | |
