Reincarnation in the Slow Lane
By: Aelfred Date: July 9, 2014, 3:26 am

There's no shortage of guides for speed reincarnation, but what
about a guide for those of us who take a slower approach to
life, death, rebirth, playing a clever chess game with the Grim
Reaper...?
I'm not done with Tyrell yet but probably will be in the next
couple of weeks. Speed isn't a concern as I like to play out the
full story line for each fealty. That said, I'd rather not be
stuck for too long waiting on my keep buildings or on those
quests that are the same for every house. What should I be doing
now to prepare for my next incarnation? Also, which fealty
should I choose next, bearing in mind that I may be with it for
the next several AvA phases? Finally, out of curiosity, is
anyone else taking the scenic route through their multiple
lifetimes?

Aelfred, players taking the slower and scenic path in this game
can still be formidable players in the future. I played this
game alternating slow and fast pace and I enjoyed both play
styles and experience.
As a competitive gamer who always want to power my gaming
experience, I always set myself up for a plausible competitive
future while enjoying a slow pace (the stories, examining the
crafting trees, talking and chatting etc).
In order to be competitive (especially as an AvA participant)
and be on almost equal footing with players who serial
reincarnate, slower pace players need to do the following (my
personal opinions at this point of the game, ofcourse):
1. Craft the great final tier items, armors, companions and make
the peerless versions permanent
2. Collect the great seals (up to your preferences) for your
character and SS through crafting!
3. Unlock as many of the quest achievements (e.g. Use 500 boons)
as possible as they are automatically unlocked when you
reincarnate.
4. All the while have a constant bread and mead chain of
production (this stockpile could surprise you as the last
reported speed reincarnator - who was a high level character
with lots of bread and mead - blitz through 7 incarnations in a
day!)
5. Find the right alliance and stick through thick and thin with
this group of players who simply make your day whenever you log
into the game. Otherwise, you would hardly find yourself playing
this game after a while.

I am another player that prefers the slow, scenic route. I also
prefer the "balanced" approach, i.e. I don't specialize in any
particular attack type. Plus, I am cheap & don't want to spend
a ton of money. (Or, hear a lot of nagging from the wife.)
This is my strategy. YMMV.
Silver. That will be the limiting factor for a while. I go
full bore in getting the Treasury & Village Center up to full
capacity. After that, I slow down on opening & upgrading
buildings. I only open & upgrade the ones I need.
SS - I don't have a lot of permenant SS (4 at the moment) so
this becomes the second priority. I try to acquire as many SS
as CPs plus one or two more for quests & challenges since they
don't require CP. At the very beginning, I may buy a one or two
lower level SS; but, once I get my treasury up to speed, I wait
for the peerless ones to show up.
Buildings - The Treasury & Village Centers are the first
priority. The fealty houses when I reach level 13 since they
are another means of getting resources. Since I am cheap, I
prefer crafting legendary items & making them permant with
seals. I make a list of items I want to craft that
reincarnation cycle and only open those buildings & upgrade them
to the levels I need to craft the items I want.
Adventures - These are another means of getting silver &
crafting resources. Plus, the higher levels give some decent
equipment for equiping your SS. I think the gold spent to
create parties, & picking the "best" attack are well spent since
they maximize returns on adventures. Initially, I send the
party out on the highest adventure I can. After awhile, I pick
the adventures that will give me the uncommon items I need to
craft the items I want.

Aelfred, I agree with a lot of the suggestions Ailver gave and I
too like to experience each fealty. I am only on my third
reincarnation as Martell (just yesterday in fact). I joined the
alliance as a Tully and stayed with it throughout the
competitive phase because of the specialty in barter. I also
like to change me style with different fealties focusing on
battle as a stark and trade as a Tully.
I have about 8 permanent SS and I add one or two with each
reincarnation. I also like to craft the peerless items to take
with me into the next life. At first I thought I would just run
through all the fealties just to unlock the buildings but I've
slowed my pace as well. So while that is still a goal, now I
want to contribute to AvA, collect peerless items and seals,
etc.
Another thing you could consider is achievements to gain more
power or titles. I look through those and try to achieve
different ones with each different reincarnation.

Hey Aelfred,
Until recently, I did'nt have a reincarnation lane never mind a
slow one but I find myself with a yearning for the moniker
Stormborn and a trip through House Targaryen. In the pursuit of
power, Lannister to Targaryen seems natural. I would finish the
game in this house but still not sure if I will do it. As for
the more physical path of running through all the buildings and
fealties, in the pursuit of power, nope it still does'nt
interest me.

A couple of other thoughts:
PvP: I try to accomplish two things. First is to get the
Obsiden dagger. The other is to get spoils to increase
equipment & SS stats. While not necessary, I also like to pick
up the dagger when I get to Vol. I, Ch 10. Starting at Ch. 5, I
try to win at least 80 PvP each chapter with most of my SS. I
look for inactive players on the "Random" section or in my
Friend list. Those are the players with a "?" for their banner.
I use whatever attack my SS is the best at.
Boss Challenges: I try to finish those by myself since
increases in your level are correlated with the number of
attacks in challenges you do. I only send help requests if I am
down to 6 - 8 hours left in the challenge.
Also help anyone who sends a Boss Challange request and enter
every AvA you can for the same reason as above.

Thanks for all the replies! Once I've followed the light at the
end of the long tunnel I'll post back here with my thoughts from
the Other Side.
