Disappearing Characters
By: nruhdal Date: October 7, 2013, 9:49 am

Some of the highest ranked members in the crew have lost their
characters in the last 24 hours. The same happened to me on
thursday.
BUT DON'T LOSE HOPE. The fact that you can't see your character
doesn't mean that it's gone for good. Shut down your console and
come back later. AVOID making a new character in the same slot,
because this can overwrite the old data which might still be
hidden somewhere in the skeptical cloud of R*. That was what i
did and i won't see that character again. If you're still able
to see your character on social club you should be quite
confident in retaining your character.
How to prevent losing your character:
- Never make a new character in the same slot if you can't see
the original
- When quitting GTA Online, go to single-player first (this will
make the game save the data, though no guarantee)
- If you get the 'Rockstar Cloud Servers Is Down'-message when
trying to connect to GTA Online, avoid pressing the
'retry'-bottom as this may cause you loosing data.
Hope this helped! :)
