Pink & Blue Neon Nights

A long way from their peaceful little burg the pink and blue
hedgehogs had come to play in Robotropolis.It was sprawling city
ruled by Dr. Robotnik, built on the bones of the old
Mobotropolis. This city is a cyber-punk neon nightmare offering
illegal gambling at the crooked casinos and a 24/7 distribution
of pollution by the many factories. The streets are strolled by
SWATBOTS and crime runs rampant. Sonic dropped Amy onto her
heels and inhaled deep taking in the polluted air, before
gagging a little and waving the stench away from his nostrils.
"Ugh gross, smells the big round guy cracked one all over the
city." He walked beside Amy as the seedy and busy people of
Robotropolis started to give the duo looks and began to whisper.
"Why these tools would want to live under Robuttnik's rule beats
me, but that's not our problem were here for some fun. So what
do you wanna do first? Wanna hit up the casino and try to cheat
the cheaters? Or you feel like cutting out the formalities and
just go stick it to Robotnik right now?"
The hero noted Amy's look of confusion and raised a hand in
explanation. "What you thought I was going to take you dancin or
something like that? As much as I don't get along with Shadow, I
wouldn't do that to another guy's lady friend. Besides, we
aren't exactly normal, and crackin skulls is something we've had
in common forever. I told you to get dressed up tonight because
I wanted us to look damn good while we tear this place apart.
Maybe you'll even get a chance to try that new golden gavel you
were telling me about."

Amy grimaced the smell of Robotropolis, but paid the onlookers
no mind as she looked at Sonic. Yes she was confused, and had
been expecting a normal night on the town, not an upcoming
battle. The pink hedgehog sighed and shook her head. Well, at
least she would be getting in some exercise.
"Yeah. Let's do it. I've been wondering what Eggman has been up
to." She said, giving him a rueful smile.

Word of Sonic and Amy's arrival in Robotnik's city travelled to
the overweight overlander quickly, no doubt from the few mobians
wandering who had some sense of loyalty to the madman. Seeing
Sonic's face plastered across the monitors was enough to make
Robotnik rage as he roared commands into his console, sending
waves upon waves of his robotic minions to apprehend the duo.
His loathsome voice boomed out over the city, commanding his
soulless legions to purse the targets.
[shadow=red,left]"The hedgehog is here?...... My, we've grown
quite bold haven't we Sonic? You won't leave this city until I
fill that hyperactive mind of yours with lines of programming to
ensure you are my ultimate robotic slave. SNIVELY! Prepare the
robotcizer!"[/shadow] Robotnik demanded as his cowardly nephew
complied. Growling into the microphone he roared for the
hedgehog's head.[shadow=red,left] "ALL UNITS, BRING ME THAT
HEDGEHOG! KILL THE PINK ONE, WE'VE NO NEED FOR USELESS TRASH!"
[/shadow]
The SWATbot units had their orders and the mechanical soldiers
heeded their master's orders and circled the two outsiders; they
were joined by a few mobians leaning out their windows aiming
laser rifles at Sonic and his friend. The tyrant gnashed his
teeth and gave the order they were all waiting for.
[shadow=red,left]"FIRE! FIRE! FIRE!!!!!!!"[/shadow] Laser fire
whirred to life from the rifles, and wrist-mounted turrets fixed
to the SWATbots.

Amy felt her eye twitch at hearing that tub of lard call her
what he just did. "... Useless... trash...?" Oh and how her
infamous temper just ate that up like a kid on candy.
Amy raised her hands up in the air as the horse of swatbots came
and the called upon her BIG guns. Two Giant Hammers popped into
each hand and she jumped, bringing them back and over with
hardly a grunt as she slammed them as hard as she could on the
wave of swatbots in front. The ground shook and pink shockwaves
hummed and charged from the massive mallets to hit anything
still in her way.
"HOW DARE YOU CALL A LADY "TRASH" AND "USELESS", YOU DUMPSTER
FIRE OF LARD AND WIRES!!!" she roared at the oncoming bots and
banished her giant hammers and brought out her pike hammer.
"ALRIGHT YOU BOZO BOTS! THIS IS COMING FROM ME TO YOU, WITH
LOVE!!!" She swung her hammer and the force of the swing tore
through the air and pink wind whirled at the aerial robots in
the form of a tornado. Amy Rose, freedom fighter veteran and
lead strategist for the Resistance, was pissed off.

The shockwave caused the first row of defence to topple over
making them defenceless against Amy's onslaught. Their metal
frames splintered under her might, the visors cracking and wires
sparking wildly from the scrapped metal men. Sonic followed up
by zipping up the walls snatching the riles out of the hands
from the snipers in the windows above. He held a cocky smile as
he dropped the guns into the streets below before jumping
himself pressing his back against Amy's.
"Just like old times, huh?"
The second wave advanced forward as Robotnik taunted the duo
over the intercom system built into his city.
[shadow=red,left]"My, my such foul things should not be coming
out of the mouth of a lady. Then again what would I expect from
emotionally unstable vermin? I must say Sonic she's quite the
downgrade from Princess Sally.[/shadow]" Where the overlander
seemed to have a begrudging respect for Sonic, he thought little
of the hedgehog's allies; always seeing them as simple pawns in
their endless game of chess.
The mobians that had their guns torn away started to hiss and
boo the hedgehogs, while Sonic simply whistles a listless tune
and flipped them the middle finger nonchalantly. When the second
wave came in Sonic picked up the rifles he'd taken from the
others and started to toss them at such high speeds they tore
through the enforcers' face places bringing them crashing down.
The blue hedgehog smiled seeing the guns explode on impact
bringing the remainder of Robotnik's forces down. With no guns
and no robots left Sonic grabbed Amy's hand and blasted off down
a back street; he vanished from the sight of citizens and
spybots alike, hidden away from prying eyes. Sonic skidded to a
stop in an abandoned bar taking a seat on one of the stools. The
establishment they found themselves in had certainly seen better
days; it was laden with broken bottles and the karaoke stage
looked like it hadn't been used in a number of years. Sonic gave
pause running his finger over the counter, his white gloves
leaving marks in the thick dust.
"I can't believe people would want to live here. I bet this dump
was a roaring place to grab a drink, before Buttnik taxed the
place into bankruptcy. Amy I realize this may be asking a lot,
but I want you to help me break into Robotnik's lair. You and I
can finish this once and for all. Drag his fat ass back to
Castle Acorn and make him answer for everything he's ever done.
You think you've got it in you to bring that door down? No
matter how many times I try I can't knock it down and it's built
out of some type of special metal, that I can't phase through."

Amy had allowed her anger to get the better of her and once she
got her rage out, she promptly ignored Robotnik's further
goading and let Sonic carry her off to the abandoned bar.
She glanced around the place, wondering herself what it might
have been like in its heyday and then turned to Sonic. Hearing
his proposal and plight of the impassable door then thought
about it.
The idea that just the two of them would take down Robotnik once
more without the team made her feel both sad and happy.
He really thought the best of her. "Sonic... I will do my
best," She summoned her pike hammer and rested it on her
shoulder, taking on a confident pose. "I haven't met a door yet
that I couldn't open."

Sonic punched his fist into an open palm upon Amy agreeing to
his request. The blue hedgehog leaned out the door looking up
the alley, trying to spot any traps or turrets Robotnik had
hidden in their path.
"Amy don't listen to that fat idiot. I'm glad to see you're on
board; now that's what I like to see. I'll shoot ahead and clear
the way for you, then you hit that door with everything you've
got."
With that, the blue blur lived up to his infamous nickname
taking off utterly annihilating the sound barrier. He blasted up
the walls goading the hidden turrets to fire upon each other;
the hail of bullets and plasma caused each turret to shoot where
Sonic was, resulting in the canons falling apart. Next, he
curled into a ball and revved up causing smoke before roaring
off like a screeching tyre leaving a flaming trail behind. The
full power spindash tore through the remaining SWAT-Bots and
badly injured any citizens that were stupid enough to get in
Sonic's way. Unfurling and skidding to a stop Sonic called down
the hallway beckoning Amy towards his position.
"Ams, do it now! This is our last chance before the cavalry
shows up. Hit it with everything you've got."

Robotnik chuckled at the prospect of the pink powder puff
possessing the power to breach his defences. He had a good laugh
at the entire situation with even Snivley joining in.
"Shall I call for reinforcements, Sir?." His cowardly nephew
squeaked only for Robotnik to reply while wiping away a tear.
[shadow=red,left]"And miss watching her embarrass herself? No, I
want her spirit broken before she watches her hero fall."
[/shadow]
Robotnik pressed the button for the intercom and spoke his foul
words to taunt the pink hedgehog.
[shadow=red,left]"Please, do go ahead and try, vermin. If Sonic
and the red idiot couldn't break down this door, then what
possible threat could you pose? The only thing you were ever
good for was playing the damsel during our match with Metal
Sonic."[/shadow]
The unbreakable door was a short dash away and awaiting Amy's
efforts. The titan of an entryway stood forty stories tall; made
from the strongest zone tempered titanium that Robotnik could
construct. Its density was so great that Sonic couldn't even
phase through it, making it the perfect defence for keeping all
the problematic vermin out.

Amy sprinted as Sonic gave her the go ahead, but stopped in
front of the towering mammoth of a door. Her piko hammer would
hardly put a dent in this thing. She knew this.
Hearing Robotnil taunt her like that made her bow her head
slightly, but not in defeat or acceptance as Robobutt would have
expected. She vanished her piko hammer, and then instead she
focused on why she was here. All the terrible things Robotnik
had done to her planet, to her parents, and her friends. They
needed justice. The good must triumph over evil. The wicked
could NOT win. And this door was their only obsticale. Sonic
couldn't break it down, he was depending on her. This was their
last chance. Because after attacking Robotnik directly like this
would no doubt send their planet back into another active war.
No she couldn't let that happen.
"No more." She whispered fervently, willing everything she had
to summon the golden gavel once again. She raised her hand in
the air reaching out for the hammer and felt her hand wrap
around a smooth rod and a strong power radiating through her
body. Her grip tightened and opened her eyes as she took in the
beautiful golden light that reminded her of the Ring of Acorn,
then she swung with all her might and the Golden Gavel made a
rather pretty GONG against the massive door as the magical
weapon seemed to give an explosive impact that would seemingly
only bring damage to what the focused target was, and in this
case, the behemoth sized door. Amy, with her eyes closed from
the impact, had felt the hammer disappear in its mysterious
manner after it's limited use in battle.

Amy's power was unable to knock down the titan of a door, it did
however smash a hole right though the center. Splintered steel
exploded across the dark hallway that lay inside; jagged steel
edges protruded inwards from where the hammer impacted. The hole
Amy had created was big enough for the duo to squeeze through;
this caused Robotnik great unease as he and Snively had begun to
panic. Sonic's eyes shot wide open in disbelieve upon witnessing
Amy's newfound power for himself. He rubbed his eyes before
doing a double take, finally closing his gaping jaw he dashed
towards the pink hedgehog, rapidly shaking her hand in
congratulations. "AMY THAT WAS WILD! You did it..........one of
the biggest roadblocks to peace on Mobius and you smashed right
through it." Sonic shook Amy rapidly at inside speeds letting
his excitement get the better of him. "WE CAN FINALLY GIVE OL
ROBUTTNIK WHAT FOR." He belted out with excitement in his tone.
Finally realizing just how fast he was shaking her Sonic backed
off letting Amy catch her breath.
"Sorry about that....it's just....he's finally going to get
whats coming to him. You stay here and catch your breath. I'm
going to teach the big round guy not to fuck with Mobius."
Sonic blasted off into the darkness leaving Amy at the entrance.
Ten minuets had passed and Sonic had not returned. No sounds of
battle echoed out from the fortress, only the wind carried an
eerie silence that bellowed out into the cold air.
