James was slightly taken aback by the rifle's power, but it got
the results that they needed.
That was when Guntram called out and he saw the two robots come
for them, his pupils shrank in panic.
"Understood!" he yelled back and pointed at Maria, gesturing her
to follow him, "4 on me, target the right one and draw them
part!"
He then started to fire on the right robot while making his way
to some debris he could use as cover.

Maria actually jumped in celebration, only to hear and see the
robots coming, then the part was over.
"I hear you!" she yelled back to James and followed him,
"opening on right side bot!"
She hadn't tried firing something like this before, but she was
trained to be a gunner, so it wasn't too hard fro her to adapt.

Sabine could only smile at the power of the rifle, she was going
to enjoy this.
"Let them come!" she responded and turned to face the oncoming
robots, "we'll sent them back to hell!"
She saw how James and Maris focused on the left so she joined
Guntram in focusing down the left robot.

With their continued movement Robotnik clenched his fist and the
metal titans fingers closed around the girl. Her screams were
loud and roaring like a dying siren. He crushed her tiny skull
watching blood and brains leek out of the cracks of her head. He
smiled and tossed the brat aside before stomping down on what
was left of he corpse. Now crushed to dust Dr.Robotnik's wicked
smile sprawled across his face. [shadow=red,left]"Hear me
citizens of Mobotropolis, I am invincible, I am a god! My power
is absolute. Those who dare to defy me will have either their
lives or free will stripped away."[/shadow] He raised his fist
into the air declaring victory behind his impassable war of
machine metal.

Considering all that was happening it seemed that his shot
hadn't had any noticeable effect, he had to swap tactics.
"Okay, then we will use HE," he thought to himself and was about
to swap mags when he realized something, HE rounds was rare,
something he would have access to with armed forces and even
then he would have to use .50 sniper rifle. To drive the point
home, his ammo belt couldn't hold a magazine of .50 HE bullets.
He did a short face palm and a sigh, "guess, i will stick with
standard AP rounds."
The scream of the girl as she was executed snapped him back to
reality, but had no further noticeable effect on him, they had
to stop him and one more life to the list of casualties... was
sadly something that was unavoidable.

"That attack didn't do it either!?....These bots seem to be
tougher than they look" the hedgehog muttered as his attempt was
rendered useless. The hedgehog noticed the first few robots
crashing as help came from the distance, he turned his attention
when Robotnik came out with a young child as hostage
unfortunately they were too late. He shifted his attention back
to the vanguards who began their assault, the hedgehog blasted
from the ground lifting him upwards to avoid the first wave of
bullets from the ground and propelling himself to the other
side. His flames seem to be ineffective, he'll need more fire
power...fire power? He gazed on the canons they were currently
using and had another idea or rather attempt, he hoisted himself
high up,then compressing his energy as he pin-points at the
ground and blasts at it to create a temporary smokescreen using
dirt of the ground. He launched light blue arrows from afar
using it as a decoy before he could quickly leap on top of the
robots head one after another making his way towards their
cannon. While making his way towards it he launched another
series of light blue arrows toward the joints to see if it could
take any effect.

As blade met metal, Blaze's sword successfully piece the
Vanguard's armor, leaving it unstable. As he drew the sword from
it, the mech stumbled backward and raised it's cannon to fire
before its visor went dark and it fell to the ground; now there
was only one before the pyrokinetic hedgewolf. Sensing his
instability, if rushed forward, planning to ram into him with
the help of its boosters.
Ty's attack couldn't have been a moment soon enough; as he
launched himself at the Vanguards, they had just broken the ice
in their joints, turning to him only to have limbs sheared off
by the combined damage of the freezing and the hedgewolf's
spinning. One after another they fell to the ground, having not
been able to activate their arc defenses fast enough.
As the GUN soldiers took their aim and fired at the approaching
mechs, the bots swerved back and forth to dodge the oncoming
bullet storm; however, as fast as they were, they were not fast
enough, and all it took was a single blow to their leg joints to
knock them both down, leaving them helpless as they were torn to
pieces by the metal torrent.
Soul was the only one who had not been the most fortunate. While
the blasted up dirt and dust was successful at blinding the
Vanguards for a moment, they quickly compensated; further more,
his decoy light arrows were hopeless, as they locked onto his
heat signature. He was not entirely hopeless though, as the dust
interfered with their arc defenses and rendered them unable to
protect themselves as he leaped from one mech to the next,
attacking their joints. Although they were by no means unable to
retaliate, they light arrows successfully tore away some of the
metal of their joints; one strike may not have been enough, but
two or three could do the trick.

He glanced over the field, they were starting to get the upper
hand. The hedgewolfs were winning, the soldiers had prevented
their position from getting taken and really, the cyan hedgehog
was the one in trouble, but really, he could probably do
something better with his elevation and relative low heat on
him.
With that in mind, he turned his attention to the war machine
Robotnik was in. It was impressive in terms of engineering, much
as it felt wrong to say it. Regardless, there had to be
something they could do to it.
Even if it seemed foolish, he started to examine the machine for
anything exploitable, any kind of slip up in his design that
they could turn against him. All the while he lowered himself
down to try and minimize his profile. After all, he was in the
open if anyone spotted him on the rooftop

Blaze's ears stood up instantly as he nearly forgotten the other
mech was close by. Seeing as his fire barely helped last time,
Blaze took the chanc to take the mech head on with his own
flaming spin dash. The only catch was that he used his sword as
an extended range to stop the robot in it's tracks. If proven
successful, he could latch to the robot and destroy it like the
first mech before it.

"Cease fire!" Guntram yelled at the other as the robots was
destroyed, "target down!"
He then scanned the battle and determined that Blaze and Ty got
this pretty much under control.
"The hedgewolfs got control of their engagement!" he yelled and
directed them at Soul and his vanguard, "concentrate firepower
on the largest group, draw their attention and suppress them!"
Their main focus was to provide fire support so the others had
an easier time taking them down. They needed to clear the bots,
then, hopefully, they could make a move on Robotnik.
