| Colt Pythons | |

| Hi guys, | |
| I was wondering if anyone had ever shot a colt python and what | |
| they thought of it. They seem to go for insane prices in the | |
| states and I noticed on | |
| gundeal that the reload shop have 3 in stock which I'm really | |
| tempted to have a look at. Be interested in anyones thoughts? | |
| Cheers | |

| Two of them are sold. They don't hang around too long. As a | |
| revolver they are amongst the best looking in my opinion, | |
| followed by S&W 686's. An old friend of mine had one and it shot | |
| very accurately, but then again so too do S&W's, Taurus' and | |
| Rugers. They will always carry a high price because of their | |
| desirability. They are well built and look great, and are seen | |
| by many to be the benchmark to which all other revolvers are | |
| compared. Benchmark you say? There'll always be a divide when it | |
| comes to firearms comparisons. | |

| Actually had a few shots from another club member and really | |
| nice trigger. Had a look and the bright stainless ones are | |
| very hard to resist. Jim mentioned that although they were sold | |
| he can source more so if can get the cash together | |
| will go for it. | |

| Depends on condition, all 3 were mint and the boxed one was | |
| unfired. Ballpark 2000 - 2500 for pristine example which is | |
| expensive but compared to the States isnt absurd. Boxed unfired | |
| bright stainless pythons listed an the $6000 - $8000 region so | |
| I'm surprised someone isnt making a business of shipping them | |
| over there to sell. | |
| I thought it was just hype but they exude quality in a way that | |
| makes S&W/rugers seem a little agricultural by comparison. I've | |
| no doubt that if you spent some money a S&W could be tuned to be | |
| as nice but there is something that just seems to give the sense | |
| that true craftsmanship has been involved, like a nice old bit | |
| of furniture compared to a modern mass produced piece. | |
| Might take a bit of time but Jim seems to be able to source them | |
| so there will be one with my name on it some day, will hopefully | |
| help the competition scores too! (or at least remove a few | |
| excuses) | |
