What a great day yesterday for the Norm Iron Sporting team comin
runners up in the senior & junior team events, to be honest no
one is ever likely to beat England as they are too big and have
too many quality shooters for the other home countries to catch
them but a Brilliant day for us with Ian gettin a runners up
badge on his first attempt shootin sportin for our country.

Well done lads. But with an attitude like that then you will
never win but if you put the effort in you can be as good as
anyone. All the best with the next competition lads.

.22 England is many times the size of NI and have 25 times more
shooters than us plus some of their best shots don't even bother
goin as it's not a big enough occasion for them, this year they
had a World champion and an Olympic gold medal winner and a few
professional shooters and coaches on their side, the Home Inters
have Always been dominated by England and always will for many
reasons, their shooters get a lot of sponsorship from shootin
companies and private companies but over here sponsorship is
very difficult to get if not impossible believe me, I'm quite
lucky as my son has a few sponsors but only until this week none
were from over here, one was from UK and the other US, but that
sponsorship isn't for money it's for shootin gear and cleaning
products, the sponsorship Ian got last week was from Wade
Training for cash to help him buy shells for the year and I can
tell you we were Very grateful ...

That's fair enough semi but surely talent has nothing to do with
money and sponsorship. That would come when you are winning. But
being involved in a sport which is not shooting and anyone who
is involved in any type of sport will agree that if you don't
believe that you are good enough or have a chance then what's
the point? Do you compete not believing your good enough or not
have a chance.

I know my limitations and everyone has them, not all of us can
be George Digweed or Tiger Woods etc but we can and must try If
we want to reach a standard that we are happy with, sponsorship
& money are a big part of reachin the top in any sport but
firstly you have to have "IT" to start with, if you've a talent
for somethin the more you put into it then the more you get out
of it but shootin clays is so very expensive so practice is very
limited, if you've a talent to start with time & money to work
make a Big difference.
