GAIA
By: Shane Date: September 6, 2013, 8:37 am
---------------------------------------------------------
[tt]GAIA:
The element of Gaia. It is an unique element, as it changes
depending on a dice roll - rolling a 1, 2 or 4 results in the
character being an Insect element-user, while a 3, 5 or 6
results in the character using Nature. Each has its own
weaknesses and strengths, too.
NATURE:
The element of nature. Characters with this element can't be
paralyzed by Nature-element attacks, and they can't be rooted
either.
Strong against: Water; Earth; Wind; Fabric; Solar; Paper;
Astral; Chaos; Chthonic; Squirrel; Psychic; Atom; Cuteness
Weak against: (to do)
No effect on: Metal
Immune to: (to do)
Powers up: (to do)
NATURE-ELEMENT ABILITIES:
Classy: If this character enters battle, allies gain 3 CP per
attack instead of 1. In combos, allies gain 5 CP instead.
Flower Field: This character can create flowers that heal allies
at the cost of 15 MP. These flowers restore either 15 HP, 15 SMP
or 15 MP, or give 15 XP.
Gaia's Revenge: For every party character that is unconscious or
dead, the character will summon a Wose. If the character with
this ability is unconscious or dead, this ability won't
activate. The Woses will all be Wose Fighters with the NATURE
element. Their abilities are randomly chosen and cannot be
Gaia's Revenge.
Growth: The character's defensive stats are increased in the
rain.
Overgrow: The character's Nature-based techniques are boosted in
power if he/she has 1/3rd of his/her HP remaining.
Serene Grace: Characters with this ability get an increased
chance of inflicting status ailments on foes.
Sunshine: The character can change the time of day to noon. It
is negated if there's a Darkness-type character or opponent in
the area, however.
Sweet Scent: Everyone in battle has a chance to fall asleep if
this character participates. The character is immune to Sleep,
however. If friends and foes have an oxygen supply, they won't
fall asleep. It also raises the chances of encountering enemies
on the field.
INSECT:
The element of insects. It was recently discovered.
Strong against: (to do)
Weak against: (to do)
No effect on: (to do)
Immune to: (to do)
Powers up: (to do)
INSECT-ELEMENT ABILITIES:
None.[/tt]
Please suggest abilities for the GAIA element.
You are also allowed to ask questions regarding the GAIA element
or its abilities in this thread.

Um.
I will be suggesting abilities for Nature. Just to find out the
opinions of other members.
Spydersilk: Lowers the agility of two random enemies at random.
Has no effects on arachnid-type enemies.
Geomancy: This ability increases the power of Nature-elemental
spells. If the character's class is Geomancer, the power of all
Nature-element spells and moves are doubled.
Inferno Tree: Only usable if there's a character with Nature as
an element and another character with Fire as an element, in the
party. Both characters will always participate in a combination
attack, with the Nature-element character attacking first. This
may root enemies into the ground. The Fire-element character
attacks second, which may result in the enemy catching fire.
Both characters share damage, however, and use up twice as much
MP and SMP in battle than usual.
Tree Magick: Every turn, the party's Magical Attack or Attack
stat (whichever is lower) will get a small boost. In addition,
all attacks done by this character have a chance of rooting
enemies in place.
Leaf Hurricane: At the start of the battle, all enemies will
have a reduced accuracy unless they are of an element that is
powerful against the Nature-element. The effect is doubled in
forests and jungles.
(Would you be able to fight back with ease if you were
surrounded by a hurricane of leaves? :P)

If Sweet Scent has a chance to put friend and foe to sleep in
battle, why does it increase the chances of encountering
monsters? ???

So basically, it's like sleeping gas, in a way.

Um.
As of 18 December 2013, the NATURE element is now part of the
new GAIA element, along with the INSECT element.
This is thus the second element to be split up into categories.

PK fight: He cheats by using both insect and nature as if
they're two separate tropes for which he can use to battle
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheGMIsACheatingBastard.
In other words, he uses the Gaia element twice and always get
insect for one roll and nature for another.

So basically, in terms of Pokmon typing, he would be Bug /
Grass-type?
(Insect would represent Bug while Nature represents Grass)

I didn't say at the same time. :P
I'd say, he'd have the Protean
http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Protean_%28Ability%29<br
/>ability and more than 4 moves
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheComputerIsACheatingBastard<br
/>if the boss battle was represented in terms of a Pokmon Battl
e.
Personally, I'd always picture him to be Normal/Flying type,
have Vital Spirit has an ability, and have the moves Metronome,
[s]Mirror Move[/s] Mimic, Calm Mind and Swords Dance if he was a
Pokmon.

Therefore, you are very happy that the Protean ability exists?
:P
