Possible Plot "Twist"? [warning: contains spoilers]

So, you all know that Hope of Shan�: Frost was released one or
two days before 1 June.
Well, since then, I've spent time playing Phoenix Wright: Ace
Attorney (and I won in less than 24 hours, not counting case 5,
which took three days) and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Justice
for All (beating the game in about 36 hours this time) and
during the latter, I heard an awesome song.
It was called "Hotline of Fate".

I could hear the song in Hope of Shan� in a dream, in version
0.5's plot events.
(Sadly, it'd be almost impossible to hear in the mod itself, if
I ever get that far.)

to be spoiled, do NOT read below this line!

So, I dreamt this. I slightly modified the dialogue here where
it would conflict with the version differences.
[code]SHAN�: What... Where... where is everybody?
* pause *
SHAN�: Hello? HELLO? Anyone there?
* pause *
SHAN�: What in ________(1) could have done this...? To destroy
________(2) Town beyond existence... It is unthinkable!
????: Wrong, Shan�.
* Chanelle appears in sight, her theme starts playing *
SHAN�: Chanelle! You're okay!
CHANELLE: Why would I not be okay?
SHAN�: But... ________(2) Town... It's...
CHANELLE: It can be reconstructed. Just you and I. Us two.
SHAN�: But what about... What about the others?
CHANELLE: What others? I fail to comprehend what your thoughts
contain.
* pause *
SHAN�: ... A-are you really... her?
CHANELLE: Am I really who? Please don't just use the proverb--
SHAN�: HOLD IT! I've just seen through your lie, and you are
absolutely NOT Chanelle!
CHANELLE: What on Elvania are you talking about?
* music fades to low volume *
SHAN�: You are an impostor! Pronouns and proverbs are two
different things!
* explosion sound plays *
CHANELLE: Ack!
SHAN�: And this is Sylraphia, not... Elvisania!
CHANELLE: Urk... It's Elvania...
SHAN�: Whatever, but the truth remains: you are an impostor! Who
are you really?
* desperate music plays; in the dream, "Hotline of Fate" plays
here *
CHANELLE: ... Heh heh heh...
CHANELLE: ... Ha ha ha ha...
* ground shakes from Chanelle's laughter *
CHANELLE: Aha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
CHANELLE: So you've finally figured it out, have you not? And
now you are discombobulated too, correct?
SHAN�: Disco-what?
CHANELLE: A pulchritudinous girl like you have no hopes of
comprehending my true form. You are discombobulated, fool, for
you do not understand what is going on here, am I
right?
SHAN�: Stop using such large words, I'm just fourteen!
CHANELLE: Ah, but you see, therein lies the problem! Your age!
If you were at least fifteen I could use you for my evil,
evil, EVIL schemes. Those girls with the gas masks? I
ordered them. I told them to do what they did.
Yet you came out alive, yes? This makes you an
interesting case, you ________(3).
CHANELLE: No-one has ever survived any of my nefarious plans to
take over Sylraphia... but you...
SHAN�: Firstly, I don't follow. Secondly, did one of them really
follow orders?
CHANELLE: You don't follow? Hah! What a joke... wait, what was
that last part?
CHANELLE: You dare say someone didn't follow orders?!
SHAN�: Yes. That brunette? She tried to kill me using the
________(4) in ________(5) Caves. The blonde tells me that it
was,
in fact, NOT the correct order! What do you think now?
CHANELLE: Gah!
* ground shakes and Chanelle's eyes turn red *
CHANELLE: Now you've done it! Now you've just made me furious!
If you wish to stop me...
* Chanelle turns around and takes a few steps away from Shan� *
CHANELLE: ... from taking over this miserably boring planet...
________(5) Caves is the destination. You will definitely need
some sort of device to remain conscious in the
________(4) there. Ha ha ha ha!
* Chanelle turns to face Shan� *
CHANELLE: As for the others, they're all dead. So is ________(2)
Town! Yes, I destroyed it and killed them all! You think that
they were somehow immortal? Grow up, "sis"!
CHANELLE: It would be rude to just throw away that bullet I gave
you when you turned ten!
SHAN�: You're not Chanelle! SO SHUT UP! JUST... SHUT UP!
* Chanelle is knocked back somehow, and gets up again *
CHANELLE: Well. I am Chanelle, in reality. The Chanelle you
knew?
CHANELLE: That was merely... a fake. I merely pretended to be
the nice girl you thought I was.
CHANELLE: Come. You can't hunt me down.
SHAN�: Care to place a bet on it? I will hunt you down and I
won't! Give! Up!
CHANELLE: Oh, dream on. You're just a little girl who can't grow
up to follow her dreams to become a ballerina.
* pause *
SHAN�: That's because I dreamt of becoming an attorney. I hate
ballet.
CHANELLE: So what, it just proves that you can't follow your
dreams no matter what you desire.
CHANELLE: Desir�e found that out the hard way...
SHAN�: ...! You don't mean... Wright?
CHANELLE: Yep. Desir�e Wright died at my hand... I proved to her
that she couldn't follow her dreams.
CHANELLE: True power... True power comes from those who die at
my gloved hands. Nobody realizes it... and nobody will.
CHANELLE: But you know what? I guess I'll just go to ________(5)
Caves and hope that miss ________(3) here will fail.
CHANELLE: The bad guy always wins! Or, in this case, the bad
girl.
CHANELLE: You are such a nobody, you'd think you're your own
Nobody without a Somebody. Time to go, though. Minions!
* monsters appear *
SHAN�: Y-you... wretched... despicable... worthless... ugly...
vile... slimy... JERK!
CHANELLE: You're too much of a coward to accomplish anything. I
wasted my time with you, thinking I could get you on my side as
as my minion.
CHANELLE: You talk big, but in reality... you're too small to do
a thing.
CHANELLE: Ciao.
* Chanelle walks away *
SHAN�: What in ________(1) am I going to do about this...
Everything's... true...
SHAN�: I'm a nobody. Not in that sense but in the sense of being
a nonentity.
SHAN�: So my own sister... shot me when I was ten...
SHAN�: ... She's right... I'm too much of a coward... I can't do
it... I'm... useless...
SHAN�: It's... better if... if... if I die...
* screen fades out *
SHAN�: Farewell, cruel world...
* the music suddenly stops *
* pause *
????: Objection!
* awesome music starts playing as the screen fades in with the
monsters closest to Shan� suddenly dying with a white flash *
SHAN�: What the?!
????: Put that Keyblade away from your neck.
* Zexion appears from the sky *
ZEXION: And I believe a thanks is in order, princess.
SHAN�: Z-Z-Z-Zexion!
ZEXION: Yep! It's me, alright!
SHAN�: I... I... I...
ZEXION: It's okay, princess. You thought I was dead, didn't you?
Well, here I am, alive and kicking!
SHAN�: She said...
ZEXION: She thought she killed me, but instead, she killed a
clone. I'm crazy-prepared like that.
ZEXION: After what Xemnas did to me... I decided to be
extra-ready for anything.
SHAN�: Who?
ZEXION: My previous boss. I tripped over a colleague's Keyblade
and got fired for it.
SHAN�: I see... Th-th-thank you... for s-saving me...
ZEXION: Now, let's go!
SHAN�: What?
ZEXION: We have to stop that... fiend from taking over
Sylraphia!
SHAN�: I'm useless.
ZEXION: No, you are not! I-if you were, I...
* Zexion turns around *
ZEXION: Let's just get going, alright? We've a planet to save!
SHAN�: Right...
ZEXION: (I can't tell you yet, but... know this - I myself am a
clone.)
ZEXION: (The original me made four clones of himself - I am one
of them.)
ZEXION: (Our mission? To retrieve your four personalities.)
ZEXION: (Wouldn't want the original you to be in a coma
forever...)
ZEXION: (Pacen... Pacen must be stopped!)
SHAN�: I can't help but wonder... why do you suddenly have a
determined look in your eye...?
ZEXION: Are you kidding me? We've got to see things through,
princess!
SHAN�: Stop calling me that! I'm not a princess! My name is
Shan�!
ZEXION: You don't remember, do you?
SHAN�: Remember what? I'm fourteen, I've got tons of things to
remember!
ZEXION: (You're sixteen, Shan�. Looks like Pacen is messing with
your mind...)
ZEXION: (And to think you don't remember... our past...)
SHAN�: So? What am I supposed to remember?
ZEXION: I'll tell you when we're done with this mission, okay?
SHAN�: I don't want to wait.
ZEXION: Listen to me! I'd rather tell you once we stop her,
okay?
ZEXION: (You're just like I remember. Bloody impatient. I sound
British, too.)
SHAN�: So, what? You're coming with me?
ZEXION: Of course. I'll be with you every step of the way!
ZEXION: ... Unless I get killed by that ________(3). Of course,
you should've seen that coming, right?
SHAN�: That's one way to describe Chanelle as...
ZEXION: Well, let's go! And don't forget to use the disk.
SHAN�: You sound like my father.
ZEXION: That's because... I don't want you to get hurt.
SHAN�: ... Are you fifty?
* ground shakes *
ZEXION: WHAT?!
ZEXION: I'll have you know that I'm turning nineteen years old
in two weeks and three days!
ZEXION: Nobody tells me that I'm as old as a grandfather! LET'S
GO!
ZEXION: I'm gonna vent all my anger on that ________(3) called
Chanelle!
ZEXION: And nobody's gonna stop me! I'm going into overdrive!
ZEXION: Let me at her! LET ME AT HER!
SHAN�: ... Sorry.
ZEXION: I needed it, princess Shan�! And I'm going to help you
out!
ZEXION: Let's go!
SHAN�: Right. I hoped... I had hoped that the darkness wouldn't
overwhelm her... but...
ZEXION: Huh?
SHAN�: Chanelle controls darkness while I control light. Hence,
my pure heart.
ZEXION: I see... so your hope...
SHAN�: Crushed... like my dreams...[/code]
So you're wondering what's the ________ with the numbers? Here
you go, reasons.

go here, however, "blazes" would work well in Ember

Ampoulos, Venomino are possible names.[/li]
[li]Changes depending on the version. Ice brain, Imbecile, Jerk,
Waste of oxygen are possible insults.[/li]
[li]Changes depending on the version. Icy mist, Burning mist,
Electrical mist, Toxic gas are possible causes of death that is
almost used in the beginning of the mod.[/li]
[li]Changes depending on the version. Frost, Ember, Spark, Toxin
are possible words.[/li]

Anyway, I plan for Chanelle to appear in the version-exclusive
forest as an armed character who follows Shan� around.
However: in this dream, Zexion had a similar role during the end
game part (the Version-Exclusive caverns).
What do you forumites think?
Oh, and if someone could help out with this dilemma of how I'm
going to have two characters following Shan� around in the mod,
without ASM hacking, that'd be nice.
I was thinking of making the "Curly" entity change depending on
the tileset, but if there's a better way, that'd be awesome.

That sounds awesome! :3
I wish someone made an ORG remix of "Hotline of Fate" just for
that purpose of desperation, that'd fit the mood nicely, in my
opinion.
So the slight changes are related to the ________(x) stuff,
where x is a number?

Chanelle killed them all, but Shan� was out and Zexion's clone
was killed. Of course, a clone of a clone is... interesting, to
say the least. :P
This is just a preview of things to come, you see.
Canon is going to be darker and edgier, right?
The "Chanelle murdered everyone except two"-thing is just the
beginning of the darkness that may envelop this mod.
But again, this is merely... a possibility.

And if it's really important, I won't let part of Canon take
place inside a monster like Pacen.
(Of course, Cave Story Redesign has a boss fight inside a sand
worm, if I remember correctly, but that's just one map. Not more
than fifty, I guess.)

Whoa whoa whoa, let me get this straight.
Zexion cloned himself, somehow entered Shan�'s mind, which is
somehow split into four personalities?
And only by stopping Chanelle in all four personalities, can
Shan� wake up so that Pacen can be stopped in Canon version?
