You can paint it pink if you want Squire, it's your motor.
Right or wrong is only in the equation for rivet counters, I
think it's grand!😀👍

An interesting grill, better than the plastic Seris 3 one
perhaps, and almost a throwback to 1948?
I like in 'eanor - the posh end where we spell it with a capital
apostrophe!
I have dark blue Series 2 soft top you may see around.
This is it in one of its normal resting places (not taken by
me)!

It looks better from the road as it were! I did the paint job
myself in 2006/7 when I last rebuilt it using a Fuji HVLP set
and some 'Superfleet' paint (a nice 'air-drying synthetic'
formerly made by Berger). It does get a good clean and polish
every year to try and keep the paint for as long as possible.
One of my hobbies is restoring vintage railway vehicles, back to
the 1860s, so I have done quite a bit of brush painting as well
over the years. I have had the old heap for nearly 43 years now
(well some of it anyway) so I had my 'mid life crisis car' when
I was 16! Attached is a picture from 1979 - yes it has 'L'
plates on it!

I bought it unseen from near Black mountain about 12yrs ago now
, it had been a shooting hack I think got half a carrier bag of
shotgun shells out of it when stripped it down .
Not running too bad now but it does let me knoe who's boss and
break down , last week throttle cable broke !
