LATP 2019 - WHICH BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND?
By: mickandpaula101 Date: May 9, 2018, 3:57 am
---------------------------------------------------------
It has been suggested that we change the date of LATP from 2019
onwards
Please can you comment re. what you'd prefer ...
1) Change it to the Bank Holiday weekend at the end of May
2) Keep it on the August Bank Holiday weekend
If you are in the LATP Facebook group - there is a poll there -
https://www.facebook.com/groups/LeafersAtTPit/
You only have a couple of weeks if you want to comment because
we need to book the 2019 dates soon!

I am ambidextrous on the matter.
I can work around either.

Since LATP now does not run officially on the Bank Holiday
Monday, why does the event even have to coincide with either
bank holiday? Just asking. Any Sat/Sunday would be viable id
Monday is now written out of the event.

The decision was made to have it on Sat and Sun only because
many people, understandably, pack up and leave early(ish) on the
Monday
Therefore, if it was held on an ordinary weekend (and how would
we choose which weekend!!), it's likely that people would pack
up and leave early on the Sunday.
Having camping available Fri, Sat and Sun nights means people
can show their vehicles and socialise etc for 2 full days then
leave whenever they want on the Monday
Hope that explains our thinking :D

If it is to be a BH week-end then August.
It is something to look forward to for longer, The weather
might just be better, The darker evenings better suit a good
chin wag around the fire pit,

I'd be packed up and gone home on a Sunday, ready for work on a
Monday. But as it's a Bank Holiday, I'm off on a Monday.

Mike, I like your point about the fire.
Frenchie, it's good to chill on the Monday and pack up at
leisure.

Correct. I like to chill for a bit also and then get on to the
task of packing away and driving home.
