New members .....AND the shy ones ....
By: mistericeman Date: February 3, 2015, 4:08 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Just thought I'd stick a post in here to offer New members AND
those that have joined a while ago BUT prefer to "lurk" on the
sidelines ....
A VERY warm welcome .
I (From my own personal experiences on other fora) realise that
"pitching" in to the white water of day to day forum life can
sometimes be a tad off putting to say the least .....
Folks (Especially on here as we are a very social forum meeting
up as often as possible throughout the year)often know each
other in the "Real world" as well as in Cyber space,so it can
feel lie a big step to get involved .....
IT CAN be ......
I did around 2008 and I can honestly say I have had a wealth of
support AND made friends for life .....shared
beers/food/laughter AND on a couple of times tears (Chopping
onions to go in the field cooked curry ;-) )
I've driven places I wouldn't have believed possible,Viewed
vistas to make a grown man weep (Even without onions ) Drunk
till i've fallen asleep in front of a camp fire .....
Shared time with people i consider it a privilege to be with
.....AND driven many many miles in various heaps of vehicles i
have input quite literally BLOOD-SWEAT and TEARS to .
So yes pitching in can be pretty scary BUT maybe ....just MAYBE
....you will end up wondering WHY you didn't do so a heap
earlier ....
Go on .....we don't bite .....
Well not too much wdesmle

I'll second that. Or third it. This is one of my favourite
groups and a fine way to end the day is to check in on what
everyone's been up to. I've not had the pleasure of meeting
folks in person but then I do live 5,000 or so miles away. I
hope I get to spend a week motoring in convoy to Scotland and
places north. In the meantime, I'll raise a glass to you all for
the good company you all provide.

A very welcoming bunch, I can attest to that.
And it is great to find people in the local area who you
otherwise wouldn't have met.
People who are always willing to offer advice and also their own
time to help get a job done where you would struggle on your
own.
A forum with all the fun but less of the intimidation...
All hail king Icey!

Not down to me Stuart...
I am a very small cog in a much larger machine, just giving the
handle bars a nudge now and again .....
It's the folks on the forum that make the forum what it is.
