Thought's on Territory
By: King Rhys I Date: October 19, 2014, 11:07 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Now I have touched upon this on a different forum's site, but
never went into too much detail about it because I didn't think
anyone would be able to answer it, but now I think this forum
can.
So the issue for most Micronations is territory and obviously to
get territory you either claim an island out at sea if you have
a boat or find a loophole in a countries laws/rules or if your a
millionaire then you can just buy an island, but sadly there are
no Micro nationalists that are millionaires.
Tell me your thought's on this.
Sincerely
King Rhys I

Well, a micronation can secede from a Macronation from the
mainland if the law allows it so. Obviousely, you would need
macronational complacency, so you could probably try and offer a
service to said Macronation, such as waste disposal. This way,
it benefits the Macronation to allow you to secede, so they are
more likely to let you, and still be complacent. This is my
plan, becaus not only will it allow us to secede, but also offer
a source of water, which we will really need in the australian
outback.

I never really thought on a service to give to Panama for
secession. I personally thought on simply taking away useless
land and living in it. However I do know that it isn't enough. I
also considered being recognized by a major country.

In order for a nation to be recognised officially, the P5
(China, Russia, America, Britain, France) need to all recognise
it. It is thus essential to have plans in place for deals with
these nations that benefit them, and in so are an incentive for
them to recognise you. It is also advisable, although not
essential, to have a plan in place which will benefit the nation
from which you secede, because it is more practical to have
friendly relation with the nation that will more than likely
surround you (except in Trebias case, you could really do
whatever you want once recognition is gained from the P5).

I don't really believe I could please the P5. Trebia is an
anti-communist movement, and already that will **** China off. I
should try and please Panama.
Another option, if not dumb, would be join UNPO.
And my third option, to be strictly neutral, and if having an
alliance, being them of neutral countries only.

Who said you had to tell China you were anti-Communist?

Nice point, but there goes another issue, how I please the
Chinese without angering the USA and vice versa? Strict
neutrality, like Switzerland?

You would probably just have to have good trade relations with
China, and good ideological relations with the U.S.

That could work. However, as I am very conservative and not very
democratic, my relations with US may not be 100% ideological. I
could sign a military pact with them.
Trade relations with China are good. I will be able to import
raw material to make manufacturing of my own. However I need
someone that can speak Chinese ;D
I will still, however, resort to strict neutrality. I will use
religious views in Trebia to enter good diplomatic relations
with the Holy See too. They are small, but powerful too :)

Yes, the U.S. would more than likely recognise you if you are
willing to allow them to open a military base (naval would
probably be best), as it would give them better access to South
America.
Chinese is really easy to learn if you are willing to put the
time into it and learn the pronunciation. If you can't be
bothered with that though, many Chinese business people know
English.
