Spallina added another big time transfer for the spring in
former Florida midfielder Janine Hillier. She was fourth leading
scorer for 5th ranked Florida last spring. Adding Hillier(second
team american lacrosse conference), Cook (D2 midfielder of the
year), and Petersen(D2 attacker of the year) seems like a crazy
influx of talent especially considering Stony Brook was already
returning three of their top four scorers from a year ago. I'm
definitely buying into what Spallina is building here at the
brook.

Oh!!! Sounds good. It sounds like Stony Brook women's lacrosse
will be highly competitive this year. I'm looking forward to
attending the games.
(Ocean, Its crazy how Florida started a lacrosse program a
couple of years ago and they were ranked fifth... If only we had
the reputation of the Gators)

Yeah it's really pretty insane how successful they are down
there. Just to note how good they are: Albany was undefeated
heading into the quarterfinals where they lost to eventual
national champs Northwestern in a rout 4 - 18. Florida beat
Northwestern during the regular season.
I think Hillier transferring to Stony Brook is almost like a
starter on UConn womens basketball team playing for our womens
hoops team.

The men will not be shabby next year either. Facing Maryland
and Virginia. Rooting for our ladies this Saturday- want to
see them get off to a strong start!

Most intriguing team of 2012. I think this team is going to make
a splash in the division 1 lacrosse world. I bet they will be a
top 20 team by the end of the season.

I've covered the two games they have played so far, they are
completely different from last year's team, to be blunt.
Manhattan was just a joke, frankly (how do you only have one
goalie on the roster? God help you if she gets hurt). If
Spallina didn't tell his team to ease up, they could of easily
won 30-0. I think some kind of mercy rule went into effect
midway in the first half, as the clock just kept running.
Another scary thing, they've been doing this without one of
their best attackers, Claire Peterson. She should be good to go
on Sunday against CCSU.
