Welcome to the Big Ant Champions Cup. This is an open free for
all comp using your Coached Team. You play as many games as you
like against any opponent with the champion being whoever has
the most wins at the conclusion of the NRL Grand Final. Dont
worry about try scorers just keep this section simple.
It is IMPORTANT that you post your scores in the Monthly
Challenge Cup thread and your Challenge Points in your Team
Challenge thread.
Game Settings:
Game Type: Casual
Length: 20 minutes
Teams: Licensed NRL Teams only
Difficulty: Legend
Interchange: 10
Injuries: OFF
Weather: Random
Wind: ON
Stadium: Hosts Choice
RULES:
You can only use your coached team (2012 Roster) & you can't
play the same opponent twice in a row. There has to be another
team inbetween.
Challenge Points Explained:
Everyone begins with 75 points. You use your Points to Challenge
other players for their points. Think of it as a **** "I
Challenge you for 20 points" the winner takes their opponents
points.
You can Challenge people two ways. You can Challenge them on PSN
via a message or you can Challenge via their Team Challenge
Thread.
You do not have to accept a Challenge. You can negoitate the
Challenge to suit both parties.
Make sure you are aware of how many points you have before
accepting a Challenge. Don't accept a 30 point Challenge if you
only have 25.
Points are to be tallied in your own Team Challenge thread as
each game is played. It is your responsibility to keep track of
your points. Your Team Challenge thread can be found here:
http://rll2ps3comp.createaforum.com/champions-cup/
If you are new and don't have a Team Challenge Thread you can
create a new thread yourself or PM me or another helpful admin.
Once you have accumilated 200 points PM me (benz1980i) and I
will add your extra point to the table. Your points will reset
after you have reached 200 and you will go back to 75.
If a player loses all their points then they can offer the
minimum 10 points until they build their points back up.
It is not compulsory to challenge if you want to play a Cup
Game. If you just want to play a regular game that contributes
to your position on the ladder then thats fine.
Challenge Tri Series Explained:
Three teams can compete for the Combined tally to take home. The
team with the most wins (factoring in for and against when
required) will recieve the total points on offer.
What I mean by 'Combined Tally' is you get your opponents points
plus extra.
In a typical one on one game you both might put in 30 points for
a combined 60 points. But when you win you only take your
opponents 30. With the Tri Series, you gain your opponents plus
the total sum.
Example: All teams Challenge 30 points. The total pool is 90
points (x3 players) but you actually gain 90 when you win
instead of the 60 you would typically recieve from your
opponent.
When 3 teams agree to a Tri Series create a new thread to keep
track of your results Titled like this:
"Manly Vs Brisbane Vs Titans Tri Series"
Also remeber to write scores down in the Monthly Challenge Cup
thread so I can keep track of the scores making it easier to
update the table.
Negotiated Challenges Explained:
As the Champions Cup develops and coaches get a handle on their
teams we see a gap grow in the table. Obviously the more
talented players will be rewarded with their position on the
ladder reflecting their skills.
If you want to play a team higher ranked than yours you may put
out a Point Challenge BUT to make it more enticing for the lower
placed team, Challenge them for an agreed amount of points minus
a high profile player
Example using Manly ranked 8th Vs Storm ranked 2nd
I would go into the Storm Challenge thread (or PSN message) and
say "I Challenge you for 40 points minus Billy Slater". The
negotiated part is Storm might say "no way. I will be happy to
lose Cronk and Challenge you for that" or he might feel ****y
and say "No, I'll Challenge YOU for 60 points without Cronk AND
Smith (but keeping Slater).
It may be the other way around. You might be a higher ranked
team and want to Challenge a lower placed team by offering to
exclude one or several of your stars.
The Key of this is giving the lower ranked team an insentive to
play a Canberra Raiders outfit on a crushing winning streak, or
to allow a team to feel they have a chance to avenge all those
losses they have had against the same opponent over and over
because they happen to be online at the same time.

sounds good, so does it count towards the ladder if we win or is
it just like a friendly for points?

Think of it as gambling. You have you money (points) and bet a
player you can beat them. When you reach 200 you gain a
competition point

Yeh I love the idea of pts. Kind of like we all put in $2 and
play for the pot! Just a bit confused myself. So I can reg an
avail esl team and start challenging other coaches for pts? I
was keen, but held back picking to let the new recruits hmget
their teams. Do we reg and revamp the system. Also will need to
assign someone to keep stats. Already have 2 moderators. If
anyone can usually squeeze 30-60 mins a day in to keep the games
and points in check+ make x vs y + teams list + pts ladder? Did
was first on the scene with this but anyone who thinks they can
commit to this part let me know ;)

The Champions Cup is for both NRL and SL teams. The idea behind
the CC came from people wanting to play friendly games using
their coached teams (it was referred to as pre season).
So basically with the CC you keep your coached team. It involves
the new recruits that have a SL team because there aren't enough
players to form a SL comp. It's a free for all best of the best.
Best doesn't really mean you are the best player, but you could
win just by playing MORE games than X team and racking up more
comp points. It allows us to be involved while we are waiting
for an opponent to play their rd game or while they are missing.
Back to the point. Both comps, coached teams, everyone starts
with 75 points, when you reach 200 you gain a comp point. The
points will be added to the table, but people will have to keep
track of their points. If you want to be involved just create a
new topic in the Champions Cup thread with your teams name as
the title. Other coaches can go to your thread and challenge you
that way or you can add challenges yourself (if they were issued
over psn MSG).
It's just a different concept that will either work great or
will take time and practice to make great. I will start it off
with my own thread. Challenge me if you dare.
It isn't compulsory. I often see someone on psn and challenge
them just for the fun of it.

Ace don't worry about stats for this. Just display your result
in the Champions Cup thread. Keep it basic. Save the effort for
the main comp.
I will add the scores to the front page along with points
gained. If everyone keeps track of their points on their thread.
Like this
Manly
75 points
-10 Dragon. = 65
+ 15 eels = 80
Etc etc
