Competition Rules
By: AceAv Date: December 8, 2012, 4:03 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
In the interest of making a good clean ladder please note the
following rules. But here at the BenzAce RLL2 Ladder, we value
each coaches input and suggestions regarding the following:
Game Type: Casual
Length: 20 minutes
Teams: Licensed NRL Teams only
Difficulty: Legend
Interchange: 10
Injuries: Medium
Weather: Random
Wind: ON
Stadium: Home teams choice
Injured player = out for 1 week
Sent off player = out for 1 week
Team Selections/Registration:
Each "Coach/Competitor/Player" will be in control of the
nominated team they have elected and registered for in the
signup section, Sign-up will require the player to submit their
email address and mobile number to the admin in a PM so they can
[s]stalk [/s]-Ensure they remain active for the entire comp.
-Australians/NZ may only register as lag & time difference
issues reap havoc for this game unfortunately.
- Players are not allowed to Coach 2 teams in this community
unless they are a Division 2 Coach using a Div 1 NRL team as a
temp coach (while someone is away/suspended etc) and vise versa.
If a Div 2 has been offered a position in the Div 1 NRL they
will have to make a choice
The coaches must select only their nominated team from the
standard licensed NRL teams pool, when they have launched the
"Casual" game against their opponent. No custom teams are
allowed to be used in this competition. Each round the coach
must post their 17 man line-up and ensure their opponent has
also done so before game day.
Gameplay & Player Control
-A coach may only control their nominated team. No co-op will
be allowed in this competition. 1v1 only. A coach may nominate
a substitute for at least 5 of their season games if they are
unable to play for those rounds.
Short kick offs
Until BigAnt and True Blue decide to patch the bug that will
cause your player to be un-responsive during kick off. We are
placing a limit of 2 Short kick offs each per game. -If a
player has made 2 successful short kick offs (by obtaining
possession) -They must kick deep, or not contest for the ball if
the kick off is still short. Tackling the catcher/shoulder
charging from short>medium kick offs are acceptable, but if your
player receives the ball you must handover possession
immediately via (chip/grubber/run into touch). Offenders will
be given the 3 strike out rule.
Shoulder Charging
By all means get physical out there ladies! -But let's also
remember to keep a cool head, and not go too overboard with
these grubby tactics ;)
Lag Issues
Yeah yeah, we all know how frustrating lag can be. We recommend
to play a 10 min warm up with your opponent to ensure their is
no lag/drops. If lag occurs and is affecting
tackling/scoreboard in the official game, the complaint MUST be
made by the 40 minute mark to the other player and a rematch
will be decided. Coaches are warned not to abuse this! -As, if
the other player believes there is NO lag (particularly if he
isn't the host) they may refuse to remake and/or compromise to
play on "Hard Mode

/>or "safe mode". If there is dispute: Evidence that there is l
ag
then must be recorded: Video, or photo's of multiple players
stamina bars at very low (which happen as a result of constantly
running back from lack of tackling occurring) to be sent to
admins for review.
Drop outs/Rage Quits
If the connection is lost during the match and the game is still
in the balance (less than 19 points behind 1st half and less
than 13 points behind 2d half) the players may agree to a
re-match. However if a second drop out occurs during the
re-match: The player winning at the time the drop out occurs
will be the winner and take the f/a points on the scoreboard + 2
competition points. The drop-out must be noted post-match and
the players will be monitored the next round for any connection
issues. Multiple drop outs will result in the player being
dropped/replaced from the competition.
Rage quitting/Conceding will not be tolerated in this
competition. The game is to be played out until the full time
whistle. The rage quitter will lose 18 f/a points -on top of the
current score and the winner shall receive +18 f/a points on top
of the current score + the competition points. This is to be
noted post match and 2 strikes and you're out rule will be
implemented to the offender.
Rounds/Match Organisation
Each coach will have their current draw for the season issued.
The competition will be a 15 round ladder with the standard 2012
NRL Finals system being used to determine a victor. We will
also proudly host the Bottom 8 Finals with the 'winner of the
losers' being crowned using the 2012 NRL Finals system also!
The admins will make every attempt to keep this competition
running at 2 rounds per week. Each player/coach must agree to
complete their 2 rounds by Monday of each week. And post results
so the ladder may be updated and following rounds can proceed.
Each coach has a responsibility to publicly organise the time
they plan to play their opponent, so we can determine who is
dragging the competition behind and give them notice to play
their rounds promptly.
Inactivity:
Here at BenzAce RLL2 Ladder, we understand if you need to go on
a 2 week swingers retreat, or take grievance leave for your dead
gold-fish. But communication is essential so we can organise a
reserve to play for you, or simulate the matches. If inactivity
occurs for too long a period: Notice shall be given, followed by
a replacement coach that wants the Competition prize more than
you!
Post Match:
Both players are to post the results of the match in the section
allocated to their game, including injuries and send offs. A
picture of the final score/stats would be preferred. Write-ups
of the game highlights are welcome and videos of that miraculous
try in the 89th minute of overtime are encouraged!
Injuries/Send-offs
If an injury occurs to a player or send off. These are to be
noted in post match and that player will miss the next round and
is to be replaced. Any coaches caught sneaking their
injured/suspended player in the next round will be docked 2
competition points + 24 f/a points.
If a Coach controlling say: St George in round 1 is waiting to
play their round 1 opponent, but is approached by their round 2
opponent who has finished his round 1 game: They may play the
round 2 game out and note any injuries post match. However when
St George DO play their round 1 game and an injury/suspension
occurs, they must carry that 1 round loss of player over into
round 3 along with the round 2 injury/suspension also.
State Of Origin
A 3 match S.O.O will be played in round 7 to round 11 and
selection will be the top 6 of the competition leaders after
round 7
Grand Prize
The winner of the competition will be sent a MASSIVE $20 EB
Games voucher, courtesy of BenzAce RLL2 Ladder and will also be
given the powerful admin status on this forum for future
competitions!
2d place to 12th place will be given choice of their preferred
team for the following season.
Bottom 4 will be dropped to Division 2. (top 4 of Div 2 > Div 1)
Wooden Spooner, so long as they show determination to win until
the end; will be prized with a $5 paypal bonus in their account.
Have fun out there kids. And don't lose an eye!

So will there be any rules on short kick offs and constant
shoulder charging? I don;t believe these tactics are in the
spirit of the game.
I don't mind the odd shoulder charge but when it is the only way
a player attacks and defends it gets a bit much, same goes with
short kick offs it would be a shame if being able to
successfully kick short determines who does well in this
competition.
I can understand a short kick off late in the game if you are
behind because that actually happens in real life, I would
suggest that short kick offs be only available to a team that is
behind on the scoreboard from the 65th minute.
As for shoulder charges I don't know if there is a way to really
police this but some sort of gentlemen's agreement should occur
between all competitors to not constantly shoulder charge.
Let me know what you think.

I'll look into the short kick offs. Maybe we should only allow
them to the team that's behind by 7+, but I really don't know
how we can police/punish these. Perhaps we just encourage fair
play and use this forum to name-n-shame dirty players! -I only
see them work about 1/3 of the time, if you let the AI grab them
still.
Shoulder charges wear out the 'charger' however, so you can
exploit them with fends/sidesteps a lot more + they can get
injured. They look damn cool though! I don't expect coaches to
overuse them however.

Yeah hopefully since this is a comp not just a random match
everyone will be play fairly so we might not have a problem.

I agree with Panthers coach. What we want here is to build a
good community of people that enjoy playing, but can take that
to new heights through the forum.
I will try for a short kick off if I am down 18-6 with 5 to go
before half time. But it is a risk. You are giving away field
possesion. What is the rule going to be?
Shoulder charging also helps the offence because it takes longer
for the fallen defender (charging with the ball in hand) longer
to get up. I played a guy on saturday. He shouldered 3 of my
defenders with one hit up. My guys were offside by the time he
played the ball he ran straight up the middle and scorrd. Also
shouldered my fullback every break.

I like the rule about only allowing 3 successful short kickoffs.
I can't stand the players that go for that kick everytime. Even
when they are 3 tries ahead. It's like they play the game
looking for glitches to exploit rather than spend that same time
developing some set moves and ganing skill.
Seems like some out there are working on running at your markers
getting off the ground after a tackle and passing into them to
gain an offside penalty. Seems to be happening more and more.
Annoying.

Yeah a agree i hate it when they run at the offside markets and
passing it into them just to get a penalty

Updated rules for both NRL and SL comps
- Players are not allowed to Coach 2 teams in this community
unless they are a Super League Coach using a NRL team as a Temp
coach (while someone is away/suspended etc) and vise versa. If a
Super League Coach has been offered a position in the NRL they
will have to make a choice
