Manly have defeated Melbourne 36-18 in a high intensity match up |
|
at ANZ Stadium. In wet conditions defence was key in the opening |
|
40. Melbourne scored first in the 27th minute off a cleaver |
|
grabber kick. The teams went into the sheds at 6 all. |
|
The second half was a tight arm wrestle with the scores locked |
|
at 18 all. Manly we able to handle the wet conditions better in |
|
the end with the storm tiring. |

Warriors def. Eels 50 - 18. |
|
On the back of a Konrad Hurrell hatrick, and a lopsided |
|
possession count, the Warriors eliminated the Eels at |
|
Parramatta. Possession stats finished at 70%-30% to the |
|
visitors, after Parra had the ascendency at the break. Chris |
|
Sandow started superbly, seemingly sparking the Eels at will. |
|
However he clearly limped to the sheds at the break with the |
|
sides even on the scoreboard. Everything the NZ side touched in |
|
the second half turned to gold, and while Hurrell and Kevin |
|
Locke figured in a big way, Shaun Johnson was awarded the Man of |
|
the Match. |
