The wait is over for the 'pride of the city'! Salford City that |
|
is. After a tumultuous 2012 campaign, the club feels they are |
|
settling in to their new surrounds and are keen to do their |
|
talking on the pitch. The coach was full of optimism for the |
|
future:- "Our new strength and conditioning trainer has really |
|
had the boys working in the pre-season...It's the best I've seen |
|
'em in years". And asked about the final line up for his 'red |
|
devils' challenge cup opener he quipped "We have just got one or |
|
two positions to work out..but I can definitely rule out Wayne |
|
Rooney as a starter!" |
|
The Salford City Reds will be available to play on Thursday |
|
night. |

|
only play as your coached team. Have a browse through the |
|
various rules and such. |

Salford City Reds Vs Melbourne Storm 40-42 |
|
In an absolute blinder of a game, Melbourne Storm's Cooper Cronk |
|
was the difference on the night. With a superior kicking game, |
|
that included 2 first half 40/20's, Salfords back three had no |
|
answer. Melbourne came out of the blocks firing and shot to a |
|
24 - 0 lead. After a revving from the coach, the Red's came out |
|
hungry in the 2nd half, with Williams and Pattern slicing |
|
through the defence on several occasions. A flurry of points |
|
from both teams ensued and a fast finish was inevitable. Only |
|
Widdop's perfect record with the boot kept the Red's at bay. |
|
The reds could get a lot out of their close defeat against a |
|
quality opponent. And as for the Storm, an injury free Cronk |
|
will only bring more wins. |
