You misspelled a French word. We received a complaint from
the French government about it. You know how sensitive they
are.
I'm in America only temporarily. My home was that lovely red
pillar box on Baker Street. Time will tell where I'll be living
when I return as advisor for the new series. I hope it's back
to Baker Street.
I'm off now to brush up on the Canadian language.

I am not sure about that, as far as I remember the only word the
French know the true spelling of is the word 'surrender'.
I seem to remember that it came into prominence for them in the
1940's, I don't recall why though.

Speaking of the French, have you ever heard how they got their
word for transom, le vasistas? They picked that up in the
Franco-Prussian war when German soldiers, who had never seen
transoms, pointed at them and asked, "What is that?" -- in
German, "Was ist das?" The Parisians were amused and started
using the word "le vasistas" themselves as a way of poking fun
at the Germans.

Who is writing articles at the White House's website? The
Grammar Police recently were outraged by this grotesque mangling
of the word "capitol" at whitetouse.gov
https://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2015/03/17/how-president-obama-celebrates-st-pa…
/>
President Obama took Prime Minister Kenny for lunch at the U.S.
Capitial. He told him ealier he looked forward to "a good lunch
and, I suspect, some good Irish music.
Do they know the difference between capital and capitol? Let us
kindly assume they do, but perhaps not. If they were in
Washington, they'd be in the capital; but they wouldn't be in
the Capitol unless they went up to where Congress meets. They
did go to the Capitol, but somehow the word got butchered.
Ealier? That's what it says.

For me...ignorance is bliss...if it looks good and gets my point
across I go on unaware that I got the wrong word...like the post
I made elsewhere using sale but meaning sail. It gives Dave a
good laugh...but I have caught him out a time or two. I just
happy is I don't see any wiggly red lines under a word!! LOL
But...I know it is irritating to those of you who can spell
perfectly. :-\
Patrick...I never did like your "dorian37grey " handle....it is
a horrible depressing story...where as Patrick is nice. :D

The color is gray, but the colour is grey.
Why does the King James Version use gray? Do I have an
Americanized version of the KJV?

That is so interesting Kerry...you are right!! I have the AKJV
bookmarked. Pulled it up and it is "GRAY"
So I thought...Ah, I see it is not the original 1611 King James
version...so I changed to that...and yet again...when pulling up
the verses they are spelled "Gray." !! Strange.
I have wiggly red lines under both my 'grays' in this post!!
Yet not if I write grey.

Surely somewhere in your admin settings you have chosen
'American' (or it's got there by default).
