Man Hangs up on the Pope
By: Kerry Date: May 1, 2015, 6:05 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
This is an amusing story from the Guardian
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/apr/30/pope-francis-phone-call-pontiff?CM…
/>and it seems Pope Francis also found it amusing:
An Italian man hung up the phone on Pope Francis twice thinking
he was being pranked, but later apologised to him for his error,
the Vatican newspaper, lOsservatore Romano, has reported.
The pontiff, who often contacts strangers who write to him or
whose problems he hears about, called Franco Rabuffi on Monday
to comfort him as he was sick.
Rabuffi disconnected the call twice thinking it was a hoax. It
was only when the pope rang back a third time that Rabuffi took
him seriously. I was speechless but Francis came to my rescue,
saying that what had happened was funny, he told the newspaper.
Rabuffi, along with his wife, appeared before the pope during
the Vaticans general audience on Wednesday and apologised for
his mistake.

I probably would have done the same thing.

[/quote]Same here. It seems most of the calls I get now are
like most of the mail I get -- junk. I probably would have
thought it was a prank or maybe a con artist. Sometimes if
I'm sure it's a trash call, I stay on the line just to waste
their time. I make them hang up on me. I asked one scammer,
"Why don't you get an honest job?" He hung up! ROFL
