Do we minimise God by magnifying him?

This is the burden of my concern in starting this private group.
It's the danger of seeking to know 'about' Christ at the expense
'knowing' him [s]in personal relationship[/s]
'Preaching about him' as distinct from 'feeding upon him'.
'Talking the talk' as distinct from 'walking the walk'.
If we're not careful it can be the danger of forum
participation.

I have to agree with you Mike. Even reading our bibles may
distract us unless we do it in order to know him rather than
just out of 'duty' because it is what Christians are supposed to
do.
What do you mean by a personal relationship with Jesus?
I hear the phrase but don't know what people mean by it, nor
can I say I understand why they talk so much about it at times.
If people have a personal relationship with Jesus, why do they
want to discuss it with me? What business is that of mine?
Do the people who use the phrase "know" something I don't know?

I answered this in my private group (I think that's where I did
it).
Do private group posts not get listed in 'recent posts'?
PS this is my private group.....am I going mad?

Do private group posts not get listed in 'recent
posts'?
Yes and no. If someone is a member of your
group, he can see the posts in this private area in "recent
posts." If he's not a member, he can't. If you are not logged
in, the posts are also invisible and do not show up in "recent
posts."
PS this is my private group.....am I going
mad?
Ask your dog. If your dog is afraid of you, fear
the worst. If your dog is not afraid of you, it's probably
nothing a shot or two of Tanqueray wouldn't fix.

Where the posts in these private areas are invisible is in the
post counts. Someone could choose to be invisible, come and
post in private areas, and it would almost impossible fro
someone outside the group to discern he had come here and posted
since his post count wouldn't go up. The most you could see
was when one member was invisible. It also conceals how much
activity is going on in private areas.

I find that the new posts in the personal boards are not in the
bottom list or in the "Recent posts since last visit" I can
only see them by the little "NEW" yellow sign under each board.
I think I have missed many of them by not seeing them in my "New
posts since last visit" list.
Adding later:- Well I just saw my post on Poppy's board just
showed up in the bottom list, so maybe I am wrong then.

The posts in private groups will appear in
Recent Posts, as long as you are a member of the group-- but
only when you are logged in. So, I've found it best to stay
logged in.
