this is a place for fear // character development + past

Chat was walking through the territory, when he stumbled upon a
half-burried book in the soil. He dug out his claws and began to
scrape the dirt away. He pulled out the book, staring at it
blankly. At the top read 'Diary of Piper'. Piper? He sat down,
memories flooding through his mind. Mother.. He thought blankly.
Blowing the dirt off of the book, he opened it to the first
page, and began reading.
Entry #1
My name is Piper. I am a mother to three young kittens, one
ginger one female, one sandy-colored female, and a ginger and
white male. I have decided to name the ginger one Blaze, fur her
fire-like fur. The lighter she-cat is named Sandy, for her
sand-colored fur. The last one is named Chatter, for his
eagerness and out-going personality.
I was raised by two twolegs and a twoleg kit. They took care of
me well, and I even adapted to their way of talking and writing.
I will teach it to my children, too.
My kittens inherit their father's personality. They're all
curious and brave, strong yet peaceful. Miles, their father,
would have been proud. Miles and I met in the Twolegplace, and
it was like love at first sight. He was a handsome, ginger tom,
with fur that was like fire in the sunlight. His eyes were a
bright blue.
It was soon after I had my kits that i had to escape. Miles told
me that the twolegs would take my kits, and give them to other
twolegs. So, here I am now. We follow a herd of wild deer, who
lead us to water and shelter. I hunt and fight for my children,
and we thrive well. Well, the deer are starting to move. That's
it for today's entry.

[hmm i see the place you got this idea from ;)]
Badger Storm had been padding around camp, when she noticed him.
"Hello Chat-" She mewed and stopped, noticing the book. She
turned to see what was written in it.

He flicked his ear towards Badgerstorm then turned the page.
Entry #2
The deer have moved again. My children were reluctant to move,
but they seem happy to settle into the area. There is water, and
a small wooded area that we are currently nesting in. Chatter
had the most silly idea of trying to eat the deer. "No, silly,"
I would respond, "the deer lead us to safety."
There is a twolegplace near us. It doesn't seem very big, but
there's too many scents. I try to keep my kittens away from it,
but curiosity gets the best of them. Sandy complains that we
move too much. The herd tends to move every day or two. I wish I
knew where they were heading.
My children are currently playing in the field. Chatter boasts
about him winning every battle. I decided that he would make a
great father one day, if we were to find other cats. I, however,
made the bad mistake of mentioning it to them.
Blaze is always asking who their father is. I simply say that he
is a busy, busy cat, and could not keep up with the herd. They
seem disappointed.
Chat sighed, then read the next session.
It's late. My children are fast asleep, and the sun is
sleeping, too. The moon is nearly full, and it is high in the
sky. But, I cannot sleep. My kittens need to stay safe, and I
can sense trouble coming.
I have taught my kittens how to write and understand the basic
twoleg language. Chatter wants his own book already, but I tell
him that it is not his time yet. He seems upset, but quickly
drifted to sleep.
I feel worried. The breeze carries the barking and stench of
dogs. I quickly wake up my kittens, and urge them to move. The
deer are panicking, and beginning to run. The dogs are getting
closer
He bit his lip. The page ripped at the edge, and memories
flooded through him

Entry #3
Book? Mama says she talks to you all of the time. Mama said.
Blaze is running so I followed her. There was huge brown animals
making weird noises at us. Mama and Sandy didn't follow us,
though. I think they're just tired from walking all of the time.
Blaze has a scratch on her arm. I think it looks cool. It is
hard to run and write at the same time, so I'm walking, but
Blaze keeps yelling at me to run. She thinks that because she's
older, she can tell me what to do. I wish mama was here. She
would scold Blaze for telling me what to do. I asked Blaze why
Mama isn't following, but she yelled 'dead'. I do not know what
that means. Mama never said that word before. It doesnt sound
nice though.
Mama always called me Chatter, but that name isnt as cool as
Blaze. Maybe i can call myself Blaze, too. I hope mama doesn't
mind that I took her book. I thought you would talk to me like
you talk to her. Maybe only Mama understands you.

Entry #4
The sun fell three times. Mama and Sandy still are not
following us. I feel sad. Blaze led me to a forest. She told me
to stop following her, but I like this game, so I keep following
her. We lost the deer. I think Mama is angry at us for running
away from the deer. Blaze never stops walking, but I feel tired.
I am also hungry, but she never stops walking. Maybe i should
stop following her now.
I fell asleep and Blaze is gone. I dont know what to eat and I
am hungry. I am also alone now. I feel sad, but i dont know what
to do. I dont know where I am. Maybe I can try to find the deer.
I think that's what I am going to do.
I have been walking and the sun fell one time. I feel very tired
and my stomach hurts. I met a cat, though. He's really old and
wont tell me his name, so I call him Fish. He smells like Fish.
He said he can show me where the deer are, but I dont think he
wants to. He also caught a mouse for me.
