	WITH A SENSE OF POISE AND RATIONALITY [ pureclan sign up ]

	[center][font=georgia]PURECLAN
	pureclan is a religious cult clan that is extremely against
	animals other than felines, enough to imprison, torture, and
	kill them. the clan is raised to believe cats are the higher
	species and that all other animals are a sort of impure, mutant
	creature that can and will turn on you if you let it. to keep
	that from happening, raids and missions are often made to rid
	their rightful land of any sinful creatures.[/center]
	[font=georgia]HISTORY + the clan was somewhat founded by
	amadeus, formerly redstar, who believed he was sent by the gods
	to lead the clan. when he became leader of the large clan that
	was currently called treeclan, he had everything changed and he
	forced his religion upon the cats. some were accepting of it and
	were convinced that other animals were not to be trusted, either
	having a past with them or just fearing or hating them. many
	others weren't so accepting, and as time went on and the clan
	grew, rebellions would break out. but the clan continued to hold
	raids in which they went out and attacked other animals groups
	that lived nearby, including small families. now, many of the
	cats are brainwashed and raised to think in the ways of the
	religion. after generations of many ruthless leaders, nowadays,
	the clan is not as bloodthirsty and strict, but still much more
	so than many other clans. hating noncats and following
	traditions are still a very big part of their lives.
	the most recent rulers were michail and raschelle. they ruled
	together as mates for a long time until michail died from a fox
	attack (the fox was only defending themselves, of course) and
	raschelle ordered the clan to kill all foxes on sight. raschelle
	grew very weak and died from sickness, and one of her three
	children took her place as ruler. michail and raschelle had four
	children, two females and two males, but one of them ran away.
	the current empress is nadine, their eldest.
	TERRITORY + pureclan lives in a large forest where the weather
	always seems to be changing. there are areas where the forest is
	dense like a jungle and it is often cloudy and rainy, and others
	where the trees are sparse amongst the meadows, and the weather
	is clear and dry. overall, the climate is very warm. their camp
	is an abandoned temple that seems to be inspired by some asian
	culture, although the clan is also very influenced by ancient
	roman and greek. the empress and other high positions have their
	own rooms while many of the others share rooms (shh just pretend
	the temple is bigger than it looks okay). the sky is usually
	clear and sunny around the temple, and though it may appear
	lifeless and empty, the territory is alive with an abundance of
	prey. lastly, there is a river deep in the thicker parts of the
	forest that splits into many streams that provide the clan with
	fresh water and lush plants.[/font]

	heir - the offspring of the leader that is in training to become
	the emperor/empress. if they are above warrior age, they act as
	a deputy. if they are under warrior age, they are mentored by
	the emperor, general, and other appointed high positions.

	appoint and lead many of the raids. if the heir is under warrior
	age or there is no heir, they act as deputy. if the heir is
	above warrior age, they are simply warlords and may lead under
	the emperor's and heir's watch.

	the royal family. they can give orders, hold meetings, and help
	in raids as needed. a council member would still be a warrior or
	their former rank, they would just be a warrior of the council.

	waiting for punishment.

	*i would prefer it if these were roleplayed out first but you
	don't have to, as long as there aren't that many. i just don't
	want the clan to be full of prisoners and no warriors.
	RELIGION + their religion is focused on three gods, aelius, the
	sun god, menodora, the moon goddess, and astraea, the star
	goddess. aelius is imagined to be a golden lion, or a long
	furred orange tabby with orange eyes. menodora is a white
	tigress, or a white she-cat with blue eyes. astraea appears as a
	cheetah, leopard, snow leopard, or a bengal cat with yellow
	eyes. aelius and menodora are complete opposites. they are sun
	and moon, good and evil, love and hate, yin and yang
	(technically yang and yin, but it doesn't flow as well). of
	course, they balance each other. just as pureclanner's lives are
	filled with good things, such as a newborn kitten or marriage,
	there must also be bad things, such as punishment or killings.
	with life, there must also be death.
	while aelius and menodora rule pureclan's heaven and hell,
	astraea helps the deceased to get to where they need to be. like
	the grim reaper, but much prettier, and she usually tries to do
	more good than bad. she also interacts with the clan cats more,
	sometimes appearing in their dreams or as a ghost. while she
	does have a main form, she likes to imitate loved ones who have
	passed away. it is believed that the deceased that go to heaven
	become stars in the sky, like astraea, the north star. the
	others become black stars, or black holes.
	traditions
	- marriages and betrothals are common within the clan and are an
	important tradition since reproduction is encouraged to help the
	clan grow. many arranged marriages are made to bring peace or
	help populate the clan instead of for love.
	- mates who give birth to kits are very respected. mates who do
	not may be shunned.

	RULES+ in character - these can be broken in character for plot
	reasons, but it may affect your character negatively.
	- if a noncat (besides prey) is found on the territory, gather a
	group and take them captive. you may injure or kill only if
	necessary.
	- patrols should consist of three or more cats.
	- kittens under 6 moons and prisoners are not allowed to leave
	camp without permission from a high position and proper
	supervision.
	- powers and special abilities are a sacred gift from the gods.
	only high positions and the royal family are allowed to wield
	them. if a normal member is found out, they may be imprisoned or
	exiled.
	- high positions may arrange a marriage between two cats unless
	the council disagrees. parents of the two cats may also arrange
	a marriage unless the council disagrees.
	- prisoners and especially members are not allowed to be
	tortured, killed, or exiled without permission from the emperor
	and the council. this goes for traitors as well, although they
	will probably face one of these fates.
	- while domestic cats are the main species, big cats are welcome
	to join and live with the clan peacefully.
