"It's been going really well!" he purred, glad to have something
to talk about. "I'm learning so much! I used to sneak out, yeah,
but now I'm actually allowed to and I see so much more!" Then he
realized what he had said in the first half of the sentence and
flushed with embarrassment at his slip-up.

He sat down, tail wrapping around his paws and ears flattening
against his head. "Once, or twice..." he said, then sheepishly
smiled and muttered, "Give or take a dozen."

"Hallowspaw!" she laughed. Although sneaking out was against the
rules, she was excited for the fact that her son had done so.
Breaking the rules, that is. She didn't think he had it in him.

He giggled again when she laughed, glad she wasn't angry with
him. "Um, yeah, a couple times," he admitted, "but mostly it
would be just me."

He grinned. "I'll make you sound tough, mom," he purred, before
she continued. After she finished, Hallowspaw replied, "Really?
You broke the rules too? Like what? What kind of things did you
do?" His curiosity was kicking in now.

She sat down and flicked her tail back and forth with each
thing. "Well, when I got demoted from MCA a long time ago, I
left camp and ran to a camp site." she paused. "I ended up
starting a fire and getting major burns, but that's whatever."
Phoenixfeather giggled. "I was secretly trained by Guardianpaw's
mum, Stygianflare. And, the biggest and baddest rule I have ever
broken, was with you." she paused again. [b]"Because, you know,
the code says medicine cats aren't s'posed to have kits."

He listened, interested as to what she would say. This was nice,
just talking to his mother. After she finished, he grinned and
said, "So technically, wouldn't most of the other kittens be
rule breaks too?"
