sticks and stones will break your bones and leave you lying in t
he mud (open)

The large black and white cat sat in an alley, where he had
chosen to live. Clan life was not for him, and neither was
living with humans. That left him as a street cat, whether he
wanted it or not. The one thing on his mind was Deathblade. He
hated himself for what he did to her, but he cared about her,
and with Tigereye there, she'd never feel the same way as he
did. He wouldn't be able to deal with it, and seeing his
children would just make it worse. It broke his heart, but he
had been thinking of both of them. The kits were young and would
most likely forget him, so that was good. He remembered his
promise not to leave her, and he had broken it. Biting his lip,
h looked around, trying not to pay attention to anything that
reminded him of her.

Alex was wandering the allies she was allowed to, because of her
boyfriend's 'rank' in the street cats. She had scented a tom,
one she never seen and smelled before, and decided to find the
intruder. With the bell around her collar jingling, she found
Zero and watched him warily. Her light tortoiseshell fur
glistened as she picked up her head. She didn't bother saying
anything, in fear that she might say something stupid.

Zero lifted his head as he heard the bell on her collar jingling
and turned his head to see her coming towards him. When she
stopped, he just turned around and watched her. He wouldn't be
the first to talk.

Hmpf. Stubborn toms. She allowed her thin claws to con out, not
threateningly but just in case. "Excuse me sir, but the allyways
in this town are owned by the cats here."

He shrugged and replied, "I used to live here, so I'm staying.
Nobody really paid attention to me before I left, so why should
they care if I'm here now?"

"Because the cats that replaced you are much stronger than you."
She reasoned, keeping her voice steady. She had to admit that he
looked pretty strong, but the aura she felt around him was
saddening and depressed, which would greatly decrease his
fighting skills.

When she said that he immediately pushed away his thoughts and
turned to face her, claws sliding out. He didn't care if people
insulted him, unless they mentioned something he was proud of or
someone he cared about. Zero was focused as he glared straight
at her.

She stared back at him evenly, still not phased. She still
didn't have any confidence that he would do anything."

"Nobody says that about me," he growled quietly, stalking
towards her, claws fully extended now. The tom lunged for her.
He attempted to leave a scratch on her shoulder and push her
away.

Due to being light and quick on her paws, the female dodged his
attack. Of course, she was surprised, but saw something coming.
"Well I just did." She mewed, as if she didn't care if he wa
there or not any more. Alex watched him carefully, to be sure
where he would strike. He might be strong and tough when angered
(she still felt the sad aura, hidden deep in him), but she was
quick and light. She would keep dodging until she couldn't
anymore, which would be a while. Keep it a fair fight where no
one wins.
